Chapter 754: Chapter 760: Simply Can’t Afford to Offend (First Update)

“Look, this is what happens when you don’t listen. A classic case of suffering due to ignorance!”

Yang Zhen pointed scornfully at the male disciple from Dissolve Grievance Valley, his face full of futile regret, as though he hadn’t been the one to administer the poison in the first place.

The enchantingly beautiful woman’s face turned livid, and it took both her and the other two male disciples to just about restrain the affected disciple. She snapped coldly at Yang Zhen, “Give us the antidote now!”

Yang Zhen ‘haa’ed in perplexity, “Lady, I’m afraid your words might be a little confusing. Why would you insist on asking me, Sao Saint, for an antidote if you’re poisoned? I mean, I don’t even have one.”

“You…!” The enchantress glowered at Yang Zhen in rage, just barely managing to keep hold of the man as he struggled.

The disciple’s face had reddened, his eyes were bloodshot, and his entire body was flush with alarming signs of impending rage. If they couldn’t get him under control soon, he’d be lost to madness forever, bearing a lifelong inner demon at best, or losing his life at worst.

Yang Zhen, however, simply kept up his nonchalant act, padding his body as if looking for something. “Ah, now I remember, I was the one who poisoned him after all! How about it? You guys are alright, right?”

Frustration boiled over!

The disciples from Disolving Grievance Valley were seething with anger, and so were the bystanders around the Sky Observing Mirror.

Who had ever seen such shamelessness?

If Yang Zhen’s display of concern was taken out of context, then at least eleven out of ten people would have had tears of gratitude. One or two could even be expected to pledge themselves to him.

But it was unambiguously clear that Yang Zhen was the one who had poisoned them, which was a bitter pill to swallow.

The enchantress’s frustration had turned her face a sickly green. She could feel a surge of energy rushing through her Divine Consciousness Space; it was obviously being fueled by her fury. Given her intelligence, it didn’t take her long to grasp that the potency of this poison was directly tied to the victim’s mental state.

Inside the Yao Saint Palace, the Palace Master and Elder Jian exchanged glances before exclaiming in unison, “That’s Common Qi!”

Both of them then stared at Yang Zhen in the Sky Observing Mirror, flabbergasted. They couldn’t believe that Yang Zhen had been able to leverage this of all things.

He’d caught them off guard! With his extraordinary perception, Yang Zhen had been able to deduce almost instantly how to counteract this Qi’s manipulative effects, whereas they hadn’t even been aware of its existence!

The Yao Saint Palace was definitely to blame, for they had only given cryptic hints regarding the Common Qi to better screen the intrinsically talented individuals entering the Falling Eagle Cliff. Although they had pointed out some of its unique aspects, they hadn’t explained how it affected practitioners.

Yang Zhen had not only thought up a way to exploit this Qi but had really managed to carry out his cunning plan successfully.

When both the Palace Master and Elder Jian looked towards Wan Jian, they found that he no longer looked himself, clearly hinting that he too, was “poisoned.”

They were both met with a bemusing realization.

But then again, they were puzzled. Even if Yang Zhen had managed to utilize this Qi to scare people, once he shared the Nameless Heart Method to counteract the influence of the Common Qi, the four from Dissolving Grievance Valley would no longer be in mortal danger. Wouldn’t Yang Zhen be the one facing certain death then?

Meanwhile, the old woman and the others on the Cloud Platform had finally figured it out. They were cursing Yang Zhen; their jaws dropped, with the exception of Elder Geng who was beaming and laughing heartily, “Good lad! Who would’ve thought of such a ruse to deceive others? Truly a talent!”

The others were baffled by Elder Geng’s joy, especially when they saw his growing affection for Yang Zhen, which upset them even further.

However, they all had the same question in mind.

The old woman sneered, “Even if Yang Zhen has thought of this, what can he do next?”

Elder Geng’s face changed momentarily but then he relaxed, “If everything goes as planned, Yue Yazi and the others are expected to arrive. Once they do, Yang Zhen and Wan Jian may not be in as much danger as we think.”

Everyone jolted at the words, all of them staring at Yang Zhen. Their faces rapidly changed, reflecting a sense of horror.

Not only was that bastard Yang Zhen shameless, he was shameless to a frightening extent. Did he really calculate this as well?

Something unexpected happened at this moment.

Yang Zhen looked leisurely at the people from Dissolve Grievances Valley and began, “You know, I don’t particularly like violence. If there’s something up, why don’t we sit down and talk about it? There aren’t any problems that can’t be solved through negotiation. If one doesn’t do it, we could always try twice, right?”

The enchanting woman glared at Yang Zhen, her face icy. The fervor in her gaze suggested she’d love to bite Yang Zhen. She did not look like she wanted to sit down and have a peaceful discussion. In fact, it looked as if she wanted to kill Yang Zhen twice.

“Speak up!” The enchanting woman suddenly took a deep breath, forced herself to calm down, and grilled Yang Zhen, “What will it take for you to give us the antidote?”

Yang Zhen smirked, responding, “Why didn’t you just say so earlier? It’s not that difficult, is it?”

“You bastard!” The enchanting woman glared at Yang Zhen, teeth gritted, and urged, “Hurry up!”

The more impatient the enchanting woman was, the more leisurely Yang Zhen acted. He silently stared at the two tokens hanging on her, making no remarks.

Obviously, the enchanting woman and her group had dealt with some adversaries along the way.

Being perceptive, the enchanting woman realized what Yang Zhen was interested in wasn’t her body but the tokens. She snorted disdainfully and tossed the tokens to Yang Zhen.

It did not stop there; the two male disciples, who were restraining the other male disciple’s legs, also gave their tokens to Yang Zhen under the enchanting woman’s icy stare.

Seeing Yang Zhen turn his gaze to the writhing, screaming disciple on the ground, the enchanting woman’s face completely darkened. Almost turning black, she hissed through gritted teeth at Yang Zhen, “I never want to see you again!”

Yang Zhen snorted, took the last token, and muttered to himself, “With your IQ, if you run into me again, you’ll only end up being tricked even more.”

He then drew in a deep breath and said with a grin, “Listen carefully; I’m only going to say this once!”

As soon as these words left his mouth, everyone present, as well as those outside the Sky Observing Mirror, held their breath, their gaze fixed on Yang Zhen.

“Is this kid really going to spill the beans?” Elder Jian’s face flashed with curiosity, surprise evident in his voice, “After he reveals it, what’s he planning on doing? Is he planning on saving his life with those black things and the saint-grade array discs?”

The Palace Master of Jade Pool Palace shook his head and stated, “Once Yang Zhen reveals the secret of the Nameless Heart Method, he’s dead for sure!”

At this moment, Yang Zhen took a deep breath and began, “This poison is called ‘Smiling Half-step Insane.’ As soon as you laugh, you’ll end up just like the guy you’re holding down. And, there’s no antidote for this poison!” @@novelbin@@

“You bastard, do you really want to die?” The enchanting woman’s face flashed with fury. It looked like she was on the verge of explosion.

Yang Zhen clicked his tongue and remarked, “Don’t get all worked up. If you want to get rid of this poison, you need to find a place abundant in yin energy. A man must cultivate the Nameless Heart Method back-to-back with a woman. As for women, they need two men to practice the Nameless Heart Method together.”

“What is this ‘Nameless Heart Method’?” At the enchanting woman’s severe inquisition, everyone beyond the Sky Observing Mirror, aware of the existence of Common Qi, burst into laughter.

“This… this… this Yang Zhen is truly… an annoying prick!” A bewildered expression flashed across Elder Jian’s face. He was clearly flabbergasted.

Third Saintess had to hold back her laughter as she waited for Yang Zhen’s explanation, “Why does a woman need two men? And how should they cultivate?”

A man required a woman, a woman required two men, that man then required a woman, but if another woman were to join, another man would be needed!

“This bastard, Yang Zhen, is not to be messed with!” The Palace Master of Yao Saint Palace muttered in shock.
