Chapter 183 Reality warping nightmare

We watched the video of their fight in slow motion so everyone could understand what was happening. Even at 1/30th the speed it was still a fast-paced fight that was hard to keep pace with for normal humans. It kind of showed how overwhelming Nimrod really was compared to other mutants as he moved at Quicksilver speeds but hit like the Juggernaut.

He was toying with mutant kind and could have just walked down to Krakoa and taken care of them at any point if he wanted to. Or at the very least killed the leadership and crippled them permanently. A mutant kind without Charles, Magneto, Apocalypse, or Selene would be neutered into oblivion and you probably wouldn’t even need to do anything else because they’d be a rudderless ship.

Mutant kind would just exist at that point completely separated from systems to help them survive, a mutant with a physical mutation would probably die far before anyone cared to save them, and a mutant evolving powers they couldn’t control would be taken down by heroes and locked up before they could learn to control them.

There would be far more supervillain mutants if you killed any of them but without a support system, the most likely outcome for new mutants was death or capture. Welp… That isn’t going to happen now. The biggest threat to mutants is gone now as Hestia portals back with her new… Sister? Daughter? The pink female robot didn’t wear an expression; she only looked at me unblinking as Hestia pushed her through the portal.

“This is Nym.” She talked to me through our mental connection. “And she wants your Rod.” Still not breaking eye contact she moved over to me and grabbed my hand before she started sucking on my fingers. “Woah! Let’s wait until there isn’t a giant crowd watching us, please. How about you say something.” She broke off contact with my fingers with a ‘mwah’ before saying. “No time for talk. Let’s get out of here and I’ll suck other parts of you.”

I could only smile at her as I spoke. “I’m sorry. I seem to have a previous date waiting for me.” As I hold my arm out to wait for the person to grab it so we can head somewhere more secluded a person moves from the stage and grabs me. As we headed off I couldn’t help but look down at the person again and couldn’t believe I was lucky enough to be walking off with none other than Quicksilver on my arm.

He whispered something to me. “Can you believe this? All this fighting and everything going on and it was solved by the two hottest men who would go home with each other?” I smiled at him as I spoke. “Yeah, I can’t believe that. It’s crazy that things worked out this way… Anyways, I’m going to kill you now.” Without any fanfare, I plunge my hand through his chest and rip his heart out before smashing his head into paste to not give him any chance to use his reality-warping powers.

Now, how did I find out about his powers? He was subtle enough to fool most people, even those who were immune to his changes because he only stuck with the mutants. This man was clearly one of the 100 but how did he become Quicksilver? As I felt the slight headache of previous memories flood into me I knew how he did it.

Cassius’s Backstory

Cassius was a black fighter who was making his way up the ranks when tragedy struck his career. It came out that he was gay. This wouldn’t be a problem with most other sports but boxing was a boys club and by being different he lost most of the people helping him. His father disowned him, his trainer and coach let him go and even several of his brand deals fell through.

He was already trained enough to still do well in boxing, but that’s where the fans came in. Most fans didn’t like him, some even hated him. Cassius was a good, maybe even great fighter but he cracked under pressure. With no fans to cheer him on, no family to support him, or even a coach in his corner it meant that he began doing worse than he should have and quickly washed out of the sport.

He began selling drugs on the side to make money and in the process got a lot of people hurt. Just as the police were coming down on him for doing this he got a break. A chance at a different life in another world, a world where he could gain superpowers. It was clearly designed to cap the powers of people to a certain point but Cassius found a loophole.

He picked reality warping and had the system auto-weaken the power so that it went from cost ten points for full reality warping to five which he could purchase. It was something no one else in the hundred even noticed, the slight advantage in points saved doing it this way giving him just enough to cheat the system. The first thing he did when it gained his powers was that he did not even show up at the initial circle of other 100 members. Instead, he put himself in someone else's body.@@novelbin@@

He unfortunately couldn’t be someone who was already being written about in the stories and while he knew most overpowered superheroes they were already written about. As someone who only really watched the movies it limited him tremendously on who he could pick because he didn’t know the people like Molecule Man or Mr. Sinister.

Trying again and again, Superman rejected, Batman rejected, the Flash, Aquaman, hell even the Green Lantern, and all were written about already. Somehow after over a hundred attempts he found someone who wasn’t written about yet who still had a strong superpower. Quicksilver wasn’t mentioned in the comics somehow, most likely a writer waiting for the perfect chance to put them in and he chose that.

The moment he did, he not only gained his superspeed but could alter his backstory somewhat. He made himself more important to the foundations of mutant kind, helping Charles from behind the scenes while also developing a love interest with him. Over the course of several months, small tweaks were made here and there. Some were as small as breaking up a couple he didn’t like, while others would fundamentally change a character.

The most changes he made were to who would be willing to sleep with him, making many of the straight characters more bisexual than they were in reality, he slept with many of the most influential men of the X-men. That’s what he tried to do to me, my anti-alteration powers giving me a chance to figure out something was wrong otherwise I’d have ended up like many other men. With his death, every single person who had their reality altered would know. It was like seeing a before and after picture of what their life was really like. 

Charles began to throw up still on the stage as Wolverine in the Canadian Rocky Mountains began to loudly curse. Eric, Quicksilver’s father realizing what happened tossed himself through a nearby window barely being saved before he hit the ground by one of his followers with a levitation power. The biggest change was the sister he had written out of the world, the sister he wanted nothing to do with suddenly appeared out of thin air. For a brief moment, all of Krakoa was silent as most were affected by him, and then all hell broke loose.
