[Rein's POV: ]

"Since Eon is helping Anna and you're supposed to help Quinny and the others, I thought you would be with them. What brings you here?"

"Big brother sent me here, Sister Elle."

It has been a while since we came here and started training out on our own. We were helping each other and since there were a lot of things to help us with various things, we were also progressing.

Eon was helping Anna in addition to looking after the others. Lord Zahavi was helping Carla and Alf, while Lady Mime was observing the various things that were present around the tower.

"He asked me to help you with something. What do you need my help with~?"

She was finding a lot of inspiration from various things here and seemed to be on the verge of obtaining some kind of enlightenment so Eon was not asking her to do anything.

That aside though, I was trying to adjust to this strange time delay inside of the tower that seemed to be getting worse as one went up the floors.

'There were fifty floors and after each ten floors, the time difference was shifted significantly.'

The only place that did not have that big a shift was the ground floor with the Gate, but even that place was not as safe as the outside. This entire tower house was strange for me, but I was adjusting to it with each day we spent here. But it was still difficult.

"I don't really need help with anything, Zo. I was just looking through these cubes I found in that corner and was wondering what they were."

Since there was nothing much for me to do here, I was looking around the ground floor which was filled with all kinds of things.

'Just like these boxes, there were all kinds of strange things around this floor aside from the gate.'

There were adorable living plants here that ate ice instead of water and they smiled at me after I gave them fish. It was adorable~!

There was also a bunch of shelves filled with strange rocks, and strange bottles filled with substances that were marked as highly dangerous.

There was furniture with strange uses, a chair that massaged my body and was sooooo comfortable I had been sleeping on it since yesterday.

There were also the different rooms filled with different things arranged in a maze-like setting so I had been going around these rooms, looking for things that my eyes would find more interesting than the others.

'My eyes were adapting to the environment of this tower pretty well, so I should be fine with starting my own training in a few days as well.'

For now, though, I was looking around this floor, and when I was done looking around this place, I wanted to go to the garden area once again and see all the cool things that Eon told me about.

"Oh? You found the Method setting cubes."

When I was looking around, I found some glass cubes of different colors in a corner inside of a wooden box.

They were just thrown in that place as if they were not useful, and from the look on Zoe, it seems these things really weren't as simple as they looked.

"I thought Mom cast a strong spell on them so that Big Brother doesn't find them. You know how the two of them used to bet on things, this was one of those things."

"Oh?"

I kind of understand the kind of person his master and her mom was. She was a cool person, and even though she did not tell much about herself to Eon, she had a unique relationship with him.

She used to play different kinds of games with him, using different methods to teach him various things that he otherwise would not understand.

"I actually remember now that you mentioned it." He certainly told me about some artifacts that he liked quite a bit as well.

These artifacts, while not being as simple as they may sound, were used to concentrate the rays of light and divide them into certain wavelengths.

"So that's why I saw them as colorful cubes instead."

These cubes, while simple compared to various artifacts that were present in this place, were called the method of setting cubes used for dividing light into various forms.

"The reason they called them the Method setting cubes was simply because of the way they used it, right?"@@novelbin@@

"That's right, sister Elle. Big brother used to use these cubes in various experiments and Master knew he liked these things particularly well so she used them in various training methods that she employed for him."

The teaching methods and his methods were very unconventional. From what he tells me alone, I know well just how dreadful her training methods were.

'But however brutal she might have been with him, there were many breaks and fun training sessions as well.'

Like these colorful transparent cubes.

"The three main ones are bigger than the others since they used them as keys in artifacts around the tower.

I don't even know what they did with these things around the tower… I think Big Brother created an entire room full of his own stuff and creations in the tower somewhere and these cubes were supposed to be the keys to that place."

"Hmm? For real?"

I trust Zoe but why would that dummy create a place full of his own things when the entire tower was his?

Did he use that place often? Or was it that he had a place to himself and these cubes lead to that place?

"Yes. He used to have a place where he did all kinds of experiments with her. It was like his personal room… but you know those two.

If Big Brother knows what you found, then he must want you to find the place yourself. I think he wants you to see it yourself or something… or perhaps he believes that only you could do it."

I mean, this must have happened a while ago so Eon must have found these things for a long time.

'The only reason I found them was because they were a little too shiny. They were also not particularly special, however, they were still out of place.'

In the corner of a simple room, surrounded by a strange film of darkness, these things were intentionally hidden away by someone. And that was not all… there was still a strange layer of energy left on them so I could tell the others could not see them the way I could.

"I see. So he wants to use me, huh?"

This was new. I didn't think there would be something where he would need me so much that he would have to play a trick like this.

"He must have sent you here to tell me about all this then… that sneaky fox."

I could not help the smirk on my face right now. This was new and fun, actually.

"Now that I think about it, isn't that right?" Even Zoe was wondering how she was tricked by her big brother.

She must have thought I needed help with something for real, that must be why she left the people she was looking after and came to me instead.

"Hmm… I don't like this. He should have been more honest!"

Zoe pouted her cheeks and turned her head away from her. Then, it seemed like she was complaining inside her thoughts, and from what I could tell, she must be scolding her big brother through their unique connection.

"Hmph! He says he doesn't know what we are talking about!"

Now she was angrier.

"He also said you should follow the threads of the cubes! He definitely tricked us!"

If he wanted me to use these and find the place that he lost in a game, he should have just used a coin and asked for a favor. But, he was playing dirty.

[{ "You thought you would save a coin with this method?" }]

[{ "I don't know what you are talking about, darling." }]

Even though he's not before me, that cheeky tone as well as those words are enough to show what he might have thought when doing this.

[{ "You know I can just put them away. There is so much more to look around here." }]

I wanted to explore this floor before moving to the next one. I was having fun with this, finding new and fun things like these colorful cubes, it was fun.

Why did he have to manipulate me into this scheme? That bastard…

[{ "You can. I did not say anything. Do whatever~ you want." }]

This manipulative son of a great lady…

[{ "You're evil, you bastard." }]

He knew I would not be able to help my curiosity after this anymore. He knew I would find this treasure hunt more fun than something like looking around empty rooms.

The sole reason I was staying here was because I felt weird going around and wanted to rest, but there was also nothing much for me to do here.

Looking for the room that belonged to him, on the other hand, would be much more fun than anything else. We were talking about the place where he spent most of his time when he lived here… and considering he lived here for far longer than the three years of the outside world, that room must be filled with all kinds of things.

He knew I could not possibly avoid this great opportunity when I had a clear advantage here.

"Zoe, you didn't know anything about this, right?"

"Hmm? What?? No! I did not, sister Elle!"

She was not lying. So this was all just Eon playing both of us…

"He's going that far, so, there must be something special about that place."

Now I want to go there more than ever before.

"Hmmm…"

These colorful cubes that looked nothing less than the jewels of the demons in my eyes were going to lead me there, wherever in this tower that place might be.
