"He's Pappy~!"

{ "Muuuu~!" }

"Pappy??"

"Yes~! Pappy~!"

It was quite a unique name for a being that came from a different realm and possessed powers that even Eon had not expected. But, if it was their little Angel that named it, all of them present totally understood it.

"Does it have any meaning, Anna? A full name or something? Or is it just Pappy?" Grandpa was pretty stunned to see an energy beast, one that looked so unique at that.

The young elephant, almost a baby, with ears much bigger than its head, something that made them look like its feathers, was not a simple being. It was closer to the spirits, but unlike spirits, it was a creature of Arcanum.

The energy that they could feel from it was different from the energies that they might have felt from the other energy beasts.

Ultimately, it was simply an energy beast. And, one that was closely connected with our little one.

"It's just Pappy~!" She named the creature without much thought, but the name surely carried various unique meanings if we look at it from different perspectives.

'In the ancient common tongue, it also means a child-like spirit.'

'And it also represents the [Wise Keeper of Old Tales].'

It was perhaps a coincidence that Anna chose this specific name without the knowledge of the ancient or Original languages. Or perhaps it was fate that brought this name to her.

[{ *Still, it's certainly fascinating how someone like her has formed a [Soul Bond] with such a marvelous being.* }]

We were currently gathered in the hall of the summoning room, a relatively empty place with couches and some necessary things.

Everyone was here right now, and while Rein, Zor, and I were already healed thanks to the Red potions, we were being scolded by Anna and the others until just a moment ago.

'Then Anna called out her new friend, and the attention was shifted to the two of them.'

Grandpa was pretty surprised by its unique appearance, as well as the silver strands of hair on Anna that should not have been there.

Aunt Mime could not help her surprise at the unique adorable creature… she simply wanted to jump in and hug it right this instant.

'The same wish was shared by Quin, Carla, and Alf as all of them found this little one just as adorable as our Anna.'

Cradle was a little curious and wanted to touch the big hair of the creature while the President wanted to see the creature from up close, its eyes to be specific.

He found them to be strangely attractive. He could not define what he found attractive about them but that deep maroon almost seemed like dead blood to him and Sansan.

It was not special but it was attractive nonetheless.

Miss Moon was more interested in Anna's changed hair. They weren't especially noticeable individually but since Anna had night-like dark hair, the silver ones sparked within those long dark hair like stars in the night sky.

'Chry was also interested in her changes, but he was more concerned about us who got hurt in the process of bringing this creature here.'

Mave wanted to take care of the new baby, Sir Zuroro was interested in the newly opened strengths that Anna might show us soon, and similarly, the three of us who made this possible were interested in both: Anna's changes and the new being hiding behind his master.

"Pappy is a little shy so please don't mind him… he will need a little more time to get used to everything." Pappy the elephant was not technically afraid of us.

It was hiding behind Anna right now since the sudden appearance of everyone here had overwhelmed it a little.

'It was observing all of us right now, and since it had the ability to feel emotions like Anna did, or at least something similar, it could at least tell we weren't bad people.'

It was shy by nature, but it was also a cheerful one with a pretty and bright smile. It might take some time to get used to us all, but just like Anna, it will become an irreplaceable part of the family pretty soon.

'My eyes were pretty tame with their way of saying things now. Unlike before when they used to say things much more clearly, or almost curse at me for various reasons, as if to have matured, they say things in a way that doesn't really seem all that unique.'

Also, they are usually too stingy with their potential analysis. They don't give out stars to even the good things or creatures.

'The highest ranking creature that I have ever come across, a purple ranking beast, also only had six stars to its name.'

Though there have been some things that do get higher stars, those are things and the potential of a being is a completely different thing in their analysis criteria.

'When they analyze someone's innate true potential, they analyze how they might grow, how much they could grow, how fast they could grow, and how well they could grow up to achieve their complete potential.'

It is not easy for them to give out higher stars unless they know for a fact that the being, the individual that they are analyzing possesses that kind of potential and talent.

"Pappy is cute, but you know you will take care of each other from now on, right dear?" Grandpa was now concerned about how they were going to work together going forward.

They were close, but they were still young, both of them.

Pappy had potential, but it did not possess much strength yet. It also did not know how to help Anna with what she needed… and as an energy channeler, it had a lot more things to do with Anna than what a familiar might.

"I know~. I'll take good care of Pappy~." she was pretty confident that the two of them were going to have a good time together.

{ "Muuuuu~." }

The bright creature shared those feelings as well, though it still stayed behind Anna and looked at the rest of us with a shy look.

It wanted to greet us all, but it still seemed unsure.

There were many people around it right now. Anna aside, it seemed the creature wasn't used to much presence in the first place.

The creature, Pappy, could sense various emotions… though, what it could sense wasn't just limited to emotions.

Since he was an Arcanum beast, there were various energy wavelengths that it could sense.

High-intensity emotions like Anger and hate, mild emotions like love and affection, as well as calmer emotions like empathy and loneliness.

Not all energy beasts were capable of it, few could detect the various elements of one's emotional states.

'Pappy surely is a special one.'

And while it was trying to be more accepting of the others, it was more focused on a particular member among us.

The little creature, with much courage, approached a certain person that he had been seeing ever since it arrived in this world.

"Hello there, little one."

The emotions and energy that it might be feeling from Zoe weren't something simple. They were unique in their own right, and since Zoe was a divine beast, even I don't know how a being like that might be perceiving her.

However, one thing was clear…

It liked Zoe.

And its liking wasn't simply based on Zoe's innate disposition as a divine creature, but perhaps because of her role in this family, as well as within this tower.

'Zoe was the one in charge here.'

If it needed to greet someone, then it would be the legitimate owner of the house that it was going to stay in.

Even when seeing from another perspective, when it comes to Anna, Zoe holds a unique position among us.

She's the only one who could be harsh with Anna, she's the only one who could handle Anna when she's doing something she should not.

It's not about how Anna works with some things, but how Anna acts recklessly. She's still young and she still needs someone to tell her to not do some of the things that she could very well do with her current capabilities.

But, there are things that one should not do even if they could do it. Anna is not going to understand that anytime soon though. That is why we need Zoe.

With Pappy being here, from now on, as she understands her powers and learns how to use them, as she grows her Arcane energy arts and furthers with the various other elements of Arcanum, she will need to be stopped and scolded on various occasions.

'We cannot do that, only Zoe could.'

Perhaps the energy beast understood that as well. Perhaps, that is why it chose to go to her instead of any of us this time.
