I've Already Confronted the Five Kage, and the System Just Arrived!

Chapter 310 - 311

Chapter 310 - 311

The setting sun bathed the earth in a crimson hue.

The sky grew darker as a blood-red moon emerged from behind the clouds, casting an ominous glow.

Under this foreboding light, the even redder bloodshed and anguished cries continued unabated on the battlefield.

Gensou had shattered the second interception force of the allied shinobi army, scattering their ranks. Now, he wreaked havoc among the rear support troops.

"Why can't he be killed?"

"He's just one person! He's not the Sage of Six Paths!"

"I don't believe it! Die already—ahhhh!!"

Like their fallen comrades before them, the shinobi on this battlefield stared in disbelief, despair gripping their hearts as they watched the man casually send their comrades flying one after another.

Having lost communication with the main base, they were unaware of what had occurred earlier.

But seeing Gensou suddenly appear before them, effortlessly claiming lives, it wasn't hard to deduce the grim reality: the first and second interception forces ahead of them had likely been annihilated.

With morale plummeting, the shinobi struggled to confront Gensou, unable to harm him in the slightest, and unable to contact their headquarters for guidance.

Suddenly, the clang of metal rang out.

A kunai fell from a Konoha shinobi's trembling hand as the blade neared him. He shut his eyes, prepared for death.

"Enough already!!"

A familiar roar resounded beside him, followed by a powerful gust of wind.

With a sharp crack, the incoming blade shattered into fragments, and the residual force surged forward.

In the next instant, a loud dragging sound echoed across the battlefield.

Cheers erupted from the remaining shinobi as the dust settled.

Gensou slid backward at high speed but soon halted by firmly planting his right foot on the ground.

He straightened up, calmly brushing off the dust from his clothes before looking at the one who had thrown the punch.

"Tsunade."

Golden-haired, brown-eyed, and possessing a figure that seemed almost unfair—Tsunade had arrived.

Gensou's calm gaze swept over her and then shifted to the surroundings.

A heavy rumble of thunder heralded the arrival of the First Raikage, Ai, and the Fourth Raikage, also Ai.

Fierce winds followed, bringing the First Kazekage, Retto, and the Second Kazekage, Samon.

The sky echoed with sharp sonic booms as the First Tsuchikage, Ishikawa; the Second Tsuchikage, Mu; and the Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, approached at full speed.

Waves surged as the First Mizukage, Byakuren; the Second Mizukage, Gengetsu; and the Fifth Mizukage, Mei, arrived, walking on water.

Finally, two soft ripples of space-time distortion appeared.

Tobirama and Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport onto the battlefield.

At last, powerful footsteps sounded from behind the group of Kage.

Dressed in red Sengoku-era armor, Hashirama strode forward with a solemn expression.

The once chaotic battlefield fell silent.

With the arrival of reinforcements, including the Kage from all five great villages, the shinobi heaved a sigh of relief, retreating to give the true powerhouses space to fight.

Gensou stood at the center of it all, surveying the newcomers. Rather than rushing into action, he chuckled softly.

"After all this fighting, it seems it's still the same old group of friends."

The faces before him, save for a few, were all familiar ones—participants or witnesses of the Battle of the Valley of the Fallen Gods.

Reuniting with old acquaintances, separated by time and death, Gensou couldn't help but smile at the irony.

As he looked at their cracked, lifeless forms and then at his own youthful, vibrant body, the corner of his mouth lifted in a smirk.

"My friends, how have you been?"

At his words, all except the Hokage turned their eyes to his excessively youthful face.

Though they had read the intelligence reports and braced themselves, seeing Gensou in person stung in a way they hadn't expected.

Everyone else was dead, yet here he stood, alive, young, and full of life.

And now he had the audacity to ask, "How have you been?"

The silence was broken when the First Mizukage, Byakuren, spoke coldly.

"Once again, we meet, Hagoromo Gensou."

"Byakuren, it's been a while."

Gensou's gaze shifted to the blind, bearded First Mizukage. He smiled.

"I regret killing you first in that battle. You missed the grand finale. Though I lost, the whole thing was spectacular. Don't believe me? Ask your old friends—it was beyond your imagination."

Byakuren's face darkened.

Though Gensou spoke of regret and defeat, the mockery in his tone was unmistakable.

Before Byakuren could respond, Mei, the Fifth Mizukage, snapped coldly,

"Gensou, let's see if you can keep that attitude after this."

Gensou didn't even glance at her.

"Adults are speaking. Children should stay quiet."

Children?

I'm a grown woman!

Furious, Mei glared at him, her anger boiling over.

Just as she was about to retort, Gensou ignored her and turned to the First Raikage, Ai. In a familiar tone, he greeted him.

"Ai—yes, the First Ai. It's been a while. I was curious about your severed arm, but I see Edo Tensei fixed that. Seeing the Fourth Ai's arm is just as good—you both lost them to me, after all."

"Bastard!!"

Lightning crackled around both the First and Fourth Raikage as they seethed with rage.

Gensou nodded, pleased with their reactions, and moved on to greet the others.

"Retto, your successors seem cursed. One by one, they keep dying, and yes, I lent a hand."

"Ishikawa, your village is struggling. Even now, Onoki remains Tsuchikage."

"As for you, Hashirama, we've met so many times there's nothing left to say."

Gensou finally scanned the First Kage. For the first time, he spoke so much, genuinely treating this as a reunion of old friends.

Being the only one still alive and the host of this world, he felt it appropriate to update them on their descendants and casually boast about his own well-being.

Since his revival, he had intended to visit their graves, offer flowers, clean the tombs, and maybe even dance a little.

But time had never allowed it—until now.

Standing before their actual selves, he finally fulfilled his wish.

It was, in a way, his dream come true.
