I've Already Confronted the Five Kage, and the System Just Arrived!

Chapter 314 - 315

Chapter 314 - 315

Just as Gensou dealt with one shadow clone, another charged through the Scorch Release mist, only to vanish in a puff of smoke.

Without sparing it a glance, Gensou clapped his hands together.

"Fūton: Daitoppa!"

A powerful gust surged skyward, aiming to disperse the thick mist.

Unexpectedly, just as the mist began to dissipate, it quickly reformed.

This was no ordinary Hidden Mist Technique.

The Fifth Mizukage, Mei, was pouring her full effort into maintaining the jutsu. Additionally, reanimated allies funneled chakra into her, ensuring she wouldn't run out of energy.

Before Gensou could make another move, an attacker rushed toward him, paper scraps swirling in the air. Despite being heavily scorched, the reanimated ninja charged forward, fist clenched tightly.

"Enhanced strength? No... Explosion Release!"

At such close range, Gensou's Rinnegan easily discerned the chakra gathered in the attacker's fist. It wasn't the refined distribution of strength-enhancing techniques but a volatile mix of Earth and Lightning Release.

Gensou tilted his head slightly, allowing the explosive punch to miss.

He turned to the assailant, dressed in black, with spiky hair standing high—a member of Iwagakure's Demolition Corps, possessing Explosion Release.

"If I recall correctly, your name is Shō."

Gensou barely acknowledged the man before grabbing his head and crushing it with ease.

Shō's headless body froze in place, giving Gensou the chance to cast a binding curse on it.

But before he could finish, a vine burst from the ground, flinging Shō's body away. The vine dissolved in the heat moments later.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Three sharp blades gleamed behind Gensou as another attacker charged in.

With his body covered in burns and cracks, Hayate advanced, performing the Dance of the Crescent Moon with unwavering determination.

Gensou met the attack calmly, extending his fingers. With a single motion, he disarmed, deflected, and countered. A sharper blade flashed, slicing through the real Hayate and cutting him in two.

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

Magnet Release-enhanced Fūma shuriken spun toward Gensou from all directions, each one precisely aimed.

As Gensou had anticipated, waves of reanimated warriors, aided by Flying Thunder God markings and Byakugan-guided coordination, relentlessly attacked through the mist.

While these assaults weren't particularly troublesome, they were designed to distract and exhaust him.

"Interesting. So this is your plan to deal with me?"

Gensou shattered the torso of an unknown ninja with a single punch, his tone as composed as ever.

Although most of the attackers posed no threat, there were exceptions.

"Katon: Kibaku Enjin!"

As Gensou moved to finish another skilled taijutsu user, his feet triggered an array of explosive tags that latched onto his legs.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of deafening explosions rocked the battlefield, engulfing Gensou in smoke and fire.

When the dust settled, Gensou emerged, patting the soot from his clothes.

He glanced at the figure before him.

"Hanzō of the Salamander?"

Apart from his slightly tattered pants, Gensou appeared unscathed.

Hanzō, without his usual poison mask, flashed forward, swinging his scythe while speaking.

"I didn't expect the great Gensou to know my name."

With every word, toxic fumes seeped from Hanzō's body, spreading into the air. Even Gensou felt a faint numbness creeping through his limbs—a testament to Hanzō's potency.

Clang!

The scythe clashed against a kunai Gensou had drawn. In the same motion, Gensou's free hand shot toward Hanzō's head.

Surprised, Hanzō dissolved into water just before the strike landed, reappearing behind Gensou with his scythe ready.

The two clashed again, water splashing and sparks flying with each blow.

Hanzō's mastery of the Water Body Flicker Technique allowed him to persist far longer than other reanimated allies, exploiting the mist for cover.

After scattering Hanzō into water droplets once more, Gensou asked,

"I'm curious. Why would someone from Amegakure fight so zealously for the Five Great Nations?"

Hanzō didn't stop attacking, but his tone grew bitter.

"I wouldn't! But there are vile hands controlling me from the shadows. To think the Five Great Nations have fallen to such depths!"

"Oh?"

Gensou's interest was piqued. He had assumed all reanimated shinobi on the Allied side were operating autonomously. Evidently, Hanzō was under direct control.

This revelation surprised him further.

Didn't the Five Great Nations claim to only reanimate their own shinobi?

Now they were summoning and forcibly controlling outsiders?

As expected, once a line was crossed, there were no limits.

For someone like Hanzō, a ninja once hailed as a demigod, neither the Five Great Nations nor Orochimaru would pass up the opportunity.

"Orochimaru, why not step out and say hello?"

After forcing Hanzō back once more, Gensou's gaze shifted to the mist as he chuckled.

Moments later, a figure emerged. Hanzō didn't attack again but spoke instead, his voice replaced by Orochimaru's raspy tone.

"Long time no see, Gensou-senpai."

Gensou nonchalantly deflected incoming kunai and shuriken from other directions, his Rinnegan locking onto Hanzō.

Knowing Orochimaru was observing him through Hanzō's eyes, Gensou sighed.

"You're hard to kill, Orochimaru."

Orochimaru chuckled politely.

"Thank you for the compliment, Gensou-senpai."

"How about joining me?" Gensou offered. "Under my name, Orochimaru, you'll gain freedom and safety."

As the caster of the Edo Tensei binding many of the Allied shinobi, Orochimaru would be a valuable ally. Gensou had no qualms about keeping his word if Orochimaru defected.

However, it was clear that Orochimaru trusted only himself.

"With a grudge as deep as ours, Gensou-senpai, I must decline."

Orochimaru laughed softly.

"And don't bother trying to track me down. I won't give you the chance."

With that, Orochimaru released his control over Hanzō, severing the chakra trail that Gensou might have used to trace him.

Shaking his head, Gensou dismissed the effort.

It had been a casual attempt, and he wasn't disappointed by the outcome.

"In that case, you're of no use to me anymore."

Turning to the now-silent Hanzō, who once again charged with intent to kill, Gensou raised a hand.
