Chapter 337 - 338
Chapter 337 - 338
"Huh?"
Most of the time, Naruto was reckless and clueless, but right now, the confusion on his face wasn't his fault—it was the person speaking that had the real problem.
What do you mean by 'let's join forces to save the shinobi world'?
Did they really think he didn't know who started this war?
How many people had died?
Who had cast Infinite Tsukuyomi?
His gaze immediately sharpened as he glared at Gensou.
He wasn't some fool who could be convinced with just a few words!
Gensou nodded approvingly and continued:
"Right now, the greatest enemy is Ōtsutsuki Kaguya. She intends to trap everyone on this planet in an illusion for eternity, just as she did a thousand years ago, turning them into nothing more than sustenance for herself."
"Knowing this, I have already undone the Infinite Tsukuyomi."
"So, Naruto, do you want to join forces with me to protect the shinobi world and stop Kaguya from continuing the Infinite Tsukuyomi? Or will you side with her, helping her enslave the world?"
Naruto didn't even need to think—the obvious choice was to fight Kaguya together!
Just as he was about to say so—
Wait.
Something felt off.
Why did it come down to 'joining forces' again?
What about not joining forces? What was the other option?
That didn't make sense either!
Naruto thought for several seconds before finally realizing the problem. He pointed at Gensou and shouted:
"Hey! Why are you only giving me two choices?!"
Gensou remained calm as he countered, "Can you defeat Kaguya alone?"
"Uh..."
Naruto didn't want to admit it, but... he really couldn't handle Kaguya by himself.
So, does that mean he has no choice but to team up?
Now that he thought about it, it didn't seem like a bad idea.
At the very least, Gensou wasn't as extreme as Kaguya.
After all this thinking, Naruto was finally about to agree.
"Naruto!"
A voice suddenly rang in his mind.
"Old Man Six Paths!"
Naruto was surprised.
At the same time, both Gensou and Kaguya turned their gazes toward him.
To be precise, they were looking at the Six Paths Sage Chakra inside him.
"The old schemer finally shows himself," Gensou mused internally, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Hagoromo..." Kaguya murmured with a complicated expression.
Hagoromo knew that using chakra to communicate with Naruto wouldn't escape the notice of these two Six Paths-level beings.
He didn't care.
He simply spoke directly into Naruto's mind:
"Naruto, don't be blinded by what you see before you. The greatest enemy isn't my mother—it's Gensou."
Naruto was dumbfounded. "Gensou? But Kaguya is way more dangerous!"
He had seen firsthand what the world was like under Kaguya's rule a thousand years ago.
Compared to that, Gensou was practically a saint.
At least he wasn't turning people into White Zetsu soldiers.
Hagoromo's voice grew solemn:
"Dangerous or not is one thing, but whether she can be dealt with is another. With my help, Kaguya has been sealed once before—she can be sealed again. But Gensou is different..."
He took a deep look at Gensou, who remained as calm as ever.
Hagoromo could sense it—Gensou's true strength was far greater than what he had shown so far.
Even in his prime, Hagoromo wouldn't dare underestimate him.
In her current state, Kaguya wasn't Gensou's match.
Though she had immortality after eating the chakra fruit, allowing her to drag out the fight, if Naruto successfully sealed her with Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei, it would be over.
And then, Naruto would be the only one left standing against Gensou.
At that point, the planet would truly change ownership.
His only options would be a desperate last stand, exile alongside Kaguya, or wandering the cosmos.
None of those outcomes were acceptable for someone who had safeguarded this world for a thousand years.
"Naruto, deal with Gensou first. My mother can be handled later."
After explaining why Gensou was the greater threat, Hagoromo gave his final warning.
Naruto scratched his head furiously, feeling a massive headache.
His gut instinct was to stop Kaguya first—she was the most extreme threat.
But the Old Man had a point too...
If Gensou won in the end, Konoha and everyone else could be in serious trouble.
Teaming up with Kaguya first seemed like the smartest choice...
But—
Naruto vividly remembered her cold, ruthless attack earlier, when she had rained down countless bone needles, trying to slaughter thousands without hesitation.
And now he was supposed to fight alongside her?
Naruto clenched his fists. "This is so annoying!"
This was right, that was right.
This was wrong, that was wrong.
Screw it! He'd just fight both of them!
Since Naruto had never been a rational thinker, he simply clapped his hands together, summoned a massive army of shadow clones, and with a loud battle cry, charged toward both Gensou and Kaguya!
"Naruto..."
Hagoromo frowned.
Things were spiraling out of his control.
Gensou, however, wasn't surprised.
After all, Naruto was the most unpredictable shinobi in history.
Did Hagoromo really think he could treat him like a puppet on strings? How naïve.
Time to fight.
Seeing Naruto's shadow clone army charging in, Gensou shifted his focus away from him.
He flipped his palm upward, and a Truth-Seeking Orb floated into his grasp, reshaping into a black staff.
A small, glitch-like black portal appeared in front of him.
The staff extended into the portal—
And in the very next instant—
A matching black portal suddenly appeared behind Kaguya's head.
The staff shot out, thrusting straight toward her!
Compared to Naruto, Gensou's priority was still Kaguya.
But Kaguya reacted swiftly, tilting her head just in time to evade the strike.
At the same moment, her hand sprouted a bone spike—All-Killing Ash Bones!
With the help of Yomotsu Hirasaka, she retaliated, her strike appearing behind Gensou's head.
But he had anticipated this—a Truth-Seeking Orb blocked the attack before it could land.
At that moment—
Naruto's shadow clone army finally reached them!
Kaguya's hands extended, sprouting more All-Killing Ash Bones, impaling one clone after another, turning them into dust.
From within her sleeve, Black Zetsu spoke urgently:
"Mother, focus on the real Naruto! He is the only one who can seal you!"
Kaguya nodded.
"Mother, the one with the Truth-Seeking Orbs behind him is most likely the real one!" Black Zetsu continued.
Kaguya nodded again, her Byakugan scanning the crowd—
And quickly spotting the one Naruto with Truth-Seeking Orbs.
She moved in an instant, slicing through the clone army like a blade through water.
In a flash of white smoke, she reached her true target.
Her All-Killing Ash Bone lunged forward—
Not far away, Gensou clapped his hands together.
