Chapter 296: Chapter 215: Rush to Buy and Conflict

Clang clang…

Whoo-whoo!

The train was moving, with thick smoke billowing from the locomotive’s chimney.

In one of the luxurious cars at the front, Chen Lun was seated, dining on exquisite food and chilled fruit juice in front of him.

He was alone in the entire car.

At that moment, the car door was knocked on, and the voice of Polaris came through:

“Mr. Jack, it’s me, Polaris.”

“Come in.”

Polaris pushed the door open, and the entire adjacent car was filled with players, noisy, having clearly been reserved by them.

As the door closed, the noise disappeared.

Polaris walked up, bowing respectfully.

“Sit.”

Chen Lun casually pointed.

Polaris obediently took a seat in front of him, looking somewhat nervous.

Before leaving, he had called out a few times, and he didn’t know whether Mr. Jack would be annoyed because of it. Fortunately, there was no tip-off of a decrease in Affection, which gave him a bit of relief.

Chen Lun took out a bottle of ordinary Supernatural Wine and poured a glass for Polaris, then gestured.

“Thank you.”

Polaris drank it down in one go, gaining the corresponding enhancement.@@novelbin@@

He rejoiced inwardly, it seemed Mr. Jack wasn’t displeased; his own “student” benefits hadn’t vanished… or rather, had he actually done well?

Chen Lun quietly observed Polaris, who was now at Level 22, pulling ahead of the other players. Presently, among the top players, he was the highest level and the strongest.

“Polaris, it looks like you haven’t been lax during this time… Your progress is rapid, and you’re already among the stronger ones in the Transcendents of Sequence Nine. Compared to other Undead, you have taken the lead.”

Chen Lun praised.

Polaris was pleased but still humbly waved his hand.

“It’s because of Mr. Jack’s teachings that I could stand out.”

He really meant it; indeed, it was by sticking close to Jack that he had gained his current strength.

This had a huge impact on him.

In reality, Polaris had saved enough money to get his grandmother a mechanical prosthetic and was preparing to move his only relative out of low-income housing to a nicer apartment area.

He even thought about earning more money in the future, to let himself and his grandmother live like those wealthy people in high society, moving into a bustling metropolis like Splendid City and enjoying life.

All of this was inseparable from the NPC before him.

You could say Mr. Jack had changed his life.

“Since you are my student, I won’t be stingy…”

Chen Lun said, putting down his cutlery, and took out a painting and a scroll.

“This is as a reward for your diligence from your teacher, and also a bit of insignificant caring.”

Polaris curiously took the two items, immediately widening his eyes.

In his hands was a painting of Mr. Jack!

[Supernatural Item – Jack’s Portrait Oil Painting (Single-Use Consumable)]

Item Description: A genius painter’s depiction of a man, possessing an ultimate appearance, a noble demeanor, and mysterious powers.

This oil painting has imitated his Supernatural Power but retained only a minimal portion of it.

[Supernatural Item – Hand of the Snake (Magic Scroll)]

Item Description: A scroll documenting animal magic, from a seasoned Beast Tamer, who recorded his own Supernatural Power in the form of magic.

The scroll conceals a giant white python capable of causing dreadful destruction.

“Thank you, teacher!”

Polaris instantly stood up, his mood exhilarated.

He was very aware of the value of these two items and had no doubt about their power since they originated from Jack’s own strength!

Even if they contained only a tenth of Jack’s power, they were still very potent tools, not something you could buy with money! Apart from him, no player at this stage could get such Great Weapons; he could definitely use them as his own trump card!

“Sit down.”

Chen Lun smiled softly, picking up his cutlery again and stuffing a juicy piece of smoked meat into his mouth.

“Yes, teacher.”

Polaris sat down again, trying to calm his emotions.

“From now on, you don’t need to hide your identity too much, you can proudly tell others that you are a disciple of Jack Spett.”

Chen Lun said.

Polaris was momentarily taken aback, then nodded.

“I understand, teacher.”

He sat quietly for a while, then again made a request to Exchange items. Over this period, Polaris had saved up a substantial amount of Gold Pounds and Contribution Points; he decided to get a new set of equipment for himself, as sharpening the knife doesn’t hinder the cutting of wood.

Only by investing in oneself smartly can one reap better rewards. As a seasoned player, he deeply understood this truth; being overly frugal could actually lead to missing out on more opportunities.

Chen Lun didn’t refuse and silently opened the exchange interface.

Polaris pick and chose, ultimately buying two bombs, one red, one blue, and also replenishing some potions, ammunition, and fuel. While depleting his Contribution Points, he also spent several dozens of Gold Pounds.

“Get Dongyang, Chenxi, Doghead Gold, and Forget No Taboo, along with the other nine members, to come in. Tell them I’ve finished dining, and we can start exchanging items.”

Chen Lun, seeing Polaris’s triumphant return, chuckled lightly.

Polaris respectfully responded, then bowed again, holding his backpack, turned around, and left.

Moments later.

Dongyang and the others streamed in through the car door.

Seeing Polaris’s smile, they were already aware that this guy definitely had some gains from Jack, inducing envy and jealousy.
