Chapter 619 - 341: The Great Battle
Seeing such a result, the face of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom showed a hint of relief. He had tried hard and fought desperately, but it was all in vain. The gap in strength was like heaven and earth, making all his plans seem meaningless.
"Is this the conclusion after all?" he lifted his head, his aged face unknowingly covered in tears, muttering to himself. In this moment, he seemed to have become the boy who, countless ages ago, had gazed at the stars with reverence.
The sky was torn apart, and the world lay bare before the terrifying entities outside—a realm of endless Chaos where four fearsome figures loomed. Their bodies were so immense that just their heads were comparable to this world.
A terrifying and eerie aura emanated from these figures, instantly permeating the world, causing countless beings to burst and perish because they couldn't withstand the horrific aura.
Inside the divine kingdom, the God of the Forest revealed a sinister smile. Gradually his body dissolved into darkness, splitting into two figures, one pitch-black and the other a purple-glowing eyeball.
The two figures soared into the sky, flying into two of the figures and then disappearing. Their mission was complete. It was through the combined efforts of these two beings that such a terrifying entity as the Demon, adept at deceit and control, capable of silently corrupting living beings into extensions of its self, was formed.
Arthur did not halt their return. An overwhelming aura instantly crushed down on him, the enormous pressure forcing him to stoop, but his indomitable heart would not allow him to bow to the enemy. His body shone with the light of the Human Path, doing his utmost to maintain his standing posture.
He angrily lifted his head, wanting to etch these four terrible figures firmly in his heart.
One was entirely shrouded in black, seemingly composed of black mist, its face unclear, yet seemingly showing countless faces. Another was a huge eyeball, enveloped by a strange force, seemingly impossible to pinpoint its location. Another was a gigantic White Skeleton, just the sight of which was like seeing death and destruction.
The last one was an ugly woman with a large belly, inside which something horrific seemed to be constantly writhing.
Arthur's gaze did not provoke any reaction from the four figures; to them, the gaze of an ant was unworthy of attention. They greedily looked upon this world, already riddled with scars, and soon they would have a bridgehead to the Three Realms, where delicious sustenance that could truly compensate for their deficiencies awaited.
The world plunged into destruction. The ground split in every direction, filled with terrifying lava. The air was laden with the scent of death and destruction, countless beings wailing in agony; the sky was riddled with black cracks, through which fearsome spatial storms emerged, rendering this world on the verge of destruction even more fragmented.
The powers of ancient days began seeping into the world. The world's barriers were utterly destroyed, allowing them at last to enter this vibrant world, and ahead of them, the universe created by Pangu from which Transcendents once emerged was still waiting for them.
Arthur roared towards the heavens, at this moment burning his body, his soul, and the Sword in the Stone radiated a brilliant light, a pillar of light reaching towards the sky in this world on the verge of destruction, the light of the Human Path, the light of wisdom, also the light of hope.
This light struggled to support this crumbling world, sheltering a sanctuary and protecting the remaining beings within it.
But before the abyssal and immense eerie power, this small glint of light seemed like a single boat amidst raging waves, appearing so pitiful and helpless.
In the Netherworld, Lu Yu opened his eyes, looking through space at the destruction of the present world. Little White Snake had, without knowing when, returned to his side, currently doing its utmost to preserve the souls that had come to the Netherworld.
But this was only a temporary solution. With the destruction of the world above, the Netherworld would become water without a source, and it too would eventually face inevitable destruction.
Next to Lu Yu, a nascent will enshrouded him. Even though it was extremely frail, it was still enough pressure for Little White Snake, the Grim Reaper, because it was the Will of the World.
Who would have thought that the Will of the World would not perish with the destruction of the world but could continue to cling to life beside Lu Yu.
"There is no way around it, the beings on the other side are too powerful. This world will ultimately become the battlefield of the Saints, with destruction being only a matter of time. As long as these souls are preserved, there is still hope for this world," Lu Yu whispered, his eyes firmly watching the changes outside.
The invasion of ancient days had begun, and the shelter that Arthur had held up instantly crumbled. His once youthful face instantly aged, his life almost completely burned out.
Arthur struggled to open his eyes, his body seemingly like a rusted machine, each action consuming vast amounts of energy, but his unyielding soul still shone brightly.
"Such a tenacious soul," said a booming voice in the darkness, "I will let you and I merge into one, I believe you will make a fine Demon Lord." The enormous sound left Arthur unable to hold on any longer.
What do you think?
