Just Twilight

Chapter 85

— Alright. I’ll draft the report based on today’s meeting and submit it. Will an on-site meeting be possible the week after next?

Another deadline. They never give people a moment to breathe.

Junyoung frowned, only to realize that she had locked eyes with Manager Im, who was sitting across from her. Reading the atmosphere from her expression, his otherwise stiff lips curved slightly in amusement.

“Yes, that’s possible.”

— Then I’ll see you then.

Junyoung ended the call with nothing more than a resigned sigh. This time, it was New York.

This is seriously the last thing I’m doing for them.

Gritting her teeth, she leaned her head back and stared at the ceiling. Manager Im walked over.

“You heading out for a business trip in two weeks?”

“Probably. Unless they completely botch the report on their end.”

Manager Im chuckled. The company they were dealing with, Lekmann, had reached out to Hangyeong first to discuss expanding their domestic distribution channels. Given that, the chances of things going wrong due to their mistakes were practically nonexistent. Junyoung rubbed her forehead and let out a short laugh.

She had tried to resign from Hangyeong, but her resignation had been rejected. Before she even had time to be surprised by the rumors that Hong Inseop himself had blocked it, she was summoned to the president’s office.

She had seen him at various company events, but this was her first time facing him one-on-one. Compared to Mihyang, his expression was much softer, but despite his smile, there was something about him that kept people on edge.

“Yoon Junyoung.”

“Ah, have a seat.”

As she sat on the sofa, she could feel him evaluating her. Meeting his gaze evenly, Junyoung watched as Inseop’s lips curved into a faint smile.

“I rejected your resignation.”

His voice was calm.

“I know you’re not the type to quit just because of rumors. So, is it your department you’re dissatisfied with?”

“No, sir.”

There had been plenty of inconveniences, but she genuinely liked her work in risk management. And besides, Mihyang and Seungwoon were completely erased from Hangyeong now. Since she had originally wanted to leave because of the European assignment, and that had been canceled, there was no longer any reason to quit.

“Then keep working hard. Hangyeong needs capable people like you.”

As if that was all he had called her for, Inseop flashed a businesslike smile and stood up. Sensing his intention to end the meeting, Junyoung opened her mouth.
