After making it quite clear that she intended to place Alfonzo's head on a spike, Kidanna proceeded to go all out with her attacks, swinging her cudgel-shaped [Astra] wildly. With every wild swing of her [Astra], the earth beneath her became torn and furrowed, ancient stone structures collapsed into rubble, and trees the size of towers became reduced to splinters.

There were even a few occasions where her attacks accidentally affected nearby allies.

^Hey! Watch the boulders!^

^Sorry, darling! I'm trying to smash in this bastard's skull in!^

^Are you seriously sweet talking in the middle of a fight?^ Alfonzo asked in a mildly offended tone. ^ With a one-night stand no less?!^

^How do you-wait, right, spies...WAIT! WHY THE FUCK DID YOU SEND SPIES TO CHECK ON MY PRIVATE LIFE?!^

Alfonzo, however, proved to be annoyingly resilient. Well, his [Astra] was.

Alfonzo's [Astra] was a blade that attached itself to his tail, therefore making it rather tricky to predict precisely when and where it was going to strike, due to the unpredictable ways he flicked the appendage about.

Combined with his innate claws, fangs, and the fact that his field of vision was ludicrously wide, Alfonzo had precisely zero blind spots that Kidanna could make use of.

However, that still didn't stop her from going all out anyways.

Kidanna knew that in a straight up brawl like this, she had the advantage in both stamina and strength.

Meaning that even if Alfonzo was able to evade and block her attacks for now, they were eventually going to break in the face of overwhelming brute force.

However, this expectation was predicated on the idea that Alfonzo had nothing up his sleeve.

Unfortunately, the scaly bastard did have a couple of tricks up his sleeve.

Ones that would drive Kidanna insane, no less.

During yet another exchange of blows, club and tail-blade colliding and bouncing off of each other, Kidanna eventually saw that she had an opportunity to take a big swing to Alfonzo's ribs.

'An opening!'

As such, Kidanna proceeded to stomp on the ground and swing her [Astra] with enough force that one could hear the wind howl as it did.

Unfortunately, the attack failed to make contact with Alfonzo's ribcage as expected.

At the very last second, Alfonzo had activated an aether treasure that instabtly transformed from a pair of jade bracelets that were dangling on his wrists, into a pair of bracers that managaed to block the blow entirely.

Given that these bracers were a Gold-tiered aether treasure, it made perfect sense how they were able to block Kidanna's blow. That stated, she wasn't really paying attention to the fact that her attack was blocked.

She was more focused on the fact that she recognized these bracers.

^Wait a minute...are those-?!^

^Yes, that's right, little sister,^ Alfonzo said in a mocking tone. ^These are the old man's [Jungle Jade Bracers]. The same ones he used to protect his life multiple times during his many years of fighting and hunting. Too bad they're only good for front-facing threats.^

^...^

Sensing the implications of Alfonzo's words, Kidanna couldn't even verbalize her fury at this moment so she settled in staring daggers at the man.

^But enough about the past, there's war happening around us and I'd prefer to win it![Piercing Thunder]!^

Thunk!

"Grr!"

While keeping Kidanna's [Astra] on lock, Alfonzo had manipulated his tail so that it could whip around and stab at Kidanna's abdomen.

Thankfully, her [Regalia] was still relatively strong at this point, so it was able to resist most of the damage of Alfonzo's surprise attack. Although, it couldn't do anything about the kinetic impact that made her feel like she had just been punched in the gut.

However, this wasn't the end of it.

Understanding full well that letting up was the worse thing he could do, Alfonzo proceeded to keep the pressure on with a series of moves he used to kill Kongara all those years ago.

[Hell Scale Hail!]

First, he invigorated the scales on his body with aether before firing them off like of volley missiles towards Kidanna's position.

At this time, a zako had been thrown into the line of fire and was subsequently torn to shreds by the sudden burst of scales.

On the upside, this gave Kidanna enough time to raise her [Astra] to act as a makeshift shield to block the scales.

^...^

^I'm not done yet!^ Alfonzo roared as he used aether to close the gap between himself and Kidanna.

[Salamander Rush!]

Alfonzo redirected the aether in his scales towards his arms, strengthening them and increasing their mobility at the same time.

Once he had closed the gap, Alfonzo released a series of punches that were so fast that they literally caught fire.

As Alfonzo swung his fists, the vague shadow of a burning lizard monsters could be seen encapsulating his fists.

Kidanna for her part though was able to move her [Astra] fast enough to block a majority of the blows, but many more of them still managed to land against her [Regalia].

While Alfonzo wasn't entirely sure he was inflicting damage, he was fairly certain that the skin and flesh beneath was getting burned through heat exposure at the very least.

^Time to finish this!^

After ending his barrage of blows with a double fist strike that created a small gap between himself and Kidanna, Alfonzo released a cloud of purple smoke from his throat that reacted with the flames he had created and caused an explosion that was significantly more flash than bang in order to blind Kidanna and give himself time to reposition around back and jam his tail into the back of Kidanna's head.

This was the method he used to take out Kongara all those years ago, and he was fairly certain that this same trick would work on his meathead of a daughter as well.

'Like father, like daughter!'

Alfonzo had managed to fully reposition himself behind Kidanna and was just about to finish the job and bury the Dodorado bloodline, when all of a sudden...

KABOOM!

^What the fuck?!^

^WHOA!^

An underground explosion rocked through the area so hard that practically everyone present had lost their footing and was forced to readjust themselves in order to keep fighting.

This trip-upnwas especially bad for those who were in the middle of moving, like Alfonzo.

Due to getting tripped up, Alfonzo had missed his backstab strike entirely and had essentially shoved his tail right pass Kidanna's cheeks.

Realizing his mistake, Alfonzo attempted to move his tail away from Kidanna's face so that he could either swing it horizontally or try to find another opportunity to stab her in the back of the head again.

Unfortunately, Kidanna had an entirely different idea in mind.

[Great Ape's Savage Mauling!]

CRUNCH!

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Before Alfonzo could follow through in retracting his tail, Kidanna had manipulated her [Regalia] in such a way that it allowed her to physically bite down and lock her jaw around Alfonzo's tail, piercing through not only the [Regalia] covering it, but the flesh beneath and damage the nerves.

A fresh shockwave of pain surged through Alfonzo's body from the savage counterattack, so much so that he attempted to detach his tail entirely in order to cut himself loose.

Unfortunately, he was too slow to try and do that.

Before he could even twitch a muscle, Kidanna jumped, rolled and forced Alfonzo airborne by his tail, slamming the man into the ground.

Momentarily stunned by the sudden action, Alfonzo was left to the mercy of Kidanna as she proceeded to place the reptilian Bloodliner into a hold designed to lock his arms, legs and head in place.

And to just make sure he couldn't wriggle his way out even further, she ripped the tail from the base.

Needless to say, the pain from having something ripped off of him was more painful than anything he had ever felt...SK far.

^You know something? For a really long time, I blamed myself for father's death,^ Kidanna began to whisper into Alfonzo's ear as she continued to hold him tighter and tighter to her person.

^I had thought, if I hadn't followed in his footsteps, maybe he wouldn't have died fighting that Goldenbacks Gorilla...but now that I know the truth...I hope hell is cold for you."
