King of Titans and Dragons

Chapter 20 - 20 20 Smart Bear

Chapter 20: Chapter 20 “Smart” Bear Chapter 20: Chapter 20 “Smart” Bear Wolves are extremely intelligent animals. In our past world, there were only two animals with large populations in human cities, one was the dog, a close relative to the wolf, and the other was the cat.

On Earth, out of all animals, only these two are the most successful. Unlike cats that live off their cuteness, most dogs win the affection of humans through their abilities and loyalty.

“This posture, I’m truly feel sorry to do anything to you,” Muria rubbed his forehead, looking at the nine giant wolves that morphed from ferocious wolves into ferocious “huskies.”

“You guys are really smart,” Muria said, squatting down and stroking a dark green giant wolf that’s nearly seven meters long. Its fur was very smooth and felt nice to the hand. The key thing was these intelligent ferocious wolves kept their fur very clean.

Clean, fluffy, and obedient animals are irresistible to anyone. Not to mention, these are nine extremely interesting wolves that are pretty realistic. Compared to their tamed kind, there isn’t much difference, only that they were “bigger” and more wild.

“Get up!” said Muria, standing up and kicking the wolf king, who was noticeably bigger than the other eight wolves. He spoke in Dragon Language.

“Bark!” The wolf king understood the Dragon Language and obediently got up, wagging its tail non-stop, and barked at the other eight wolves, looking completely sycophant.

“Commander Ebute, Commander Poton, order your subordinates to disperse, search for some Silver Rank ferocious wild beasts, don’t choose too intelligent beasts, preferably find some bears or boars that are less intelligent,” Muria instructed the two commanders. Now, he realized that he shouldn’t use the perspective of the previous world to see Elasia. Here, humans are not the only intelligent race. There are many other races that can match or even surpass humans in intelligence. Even some powerful wild beasts can rival humans in terms of intelligence.

For example, this wolf king who is like a loyal dog at his feet. After being surrounded by Cloud Giants, it chose to submit to Muria instead of resist.

This is just a Silver Rank 1 ferocious wolf. Yet, there are wild beasts that are smarter and stronger than it.

Before long, a Cloud Giant came to report that they had found a sleeping brutal bear in a tree hole. It appears that there really were a lot of ferocious wild beasts in this place.

“Take me there,” ordered Muria.

It’s over here, Prince Mureya,” then the Cloud Titan Guard directed Muria to a location.

“So this is the brutal bear you’ve discovered?” Along with the two giant commanders, Muria stood under a large ancient tree, looking at another massive ancient tree far away.

At the roots of the ancient tree, the twisted roots sticking out of the ground formed a small, narrow tree hole, in which a giant bear with a shiny brown-black coat was clearly visible, fast asleep inside.

“This tree is really big,” Muria exclaimed as he looked at the tree inhabited by the brutal bear. That was a huge ancient tree, about twenty meters in diameter. It was impossible to gauge the tree’s height because the foliage was so dense.

The Titan Islands, whether it be plants or animals, are larger than those in the outside world. Unfortunately, Muria had not yet realized this. He thought that in Elasia, it is quite normal for forests to be filled with hundred-meter tall ancient trees.

Only now, seeing an ancient tree several times thicker than any other tree, Muria let out a small sigh of surprise.

“Alright, Commander Ebute and Commander Poton, I’m going to challenge that brutal bear,” Muria took a deep breath, and then he exhaled, “You two can’t follow, and you can’t interfere with my fight, unless I’m in life-threatening danger. Understood?”

“Got it, Prince Mureya. You can go practice your martial arts with ease, we guarantee no animal will disturb your fight,” Poton patted his chest and assured Muria.

“Your Majesty, feel free to focus on your fight, we’ve got the rest covered,” said Ebute, the magic staff-wielding giant.

“You guys have a lot of confidence in me,” Muria pulled a wry smile. He was hoping they would save him should he lose, but these two commanders had completely misunderstood his intentions.

“Well, anyway, if I do lose, they’ll surely help me,” Muria shook his head and walked towards the bear cave alone.

First Ring magic, Lesser Fireball.

A large red fireball, the size of a washbasin, was guided by Muria’s mental power and shot into the bear cave, directly hitting the brutal bear. With a loud “boom”, shattered wood chips, smoke and flames burst out from the tree hole.

“This power isn’t bad, but it probably wouldn’t harm this big bear. However, it’s more than enough to wake it up.” Just as Muria was thinking this…

“Roar!” An angry roar echoed from the tree hole, followed by an eight-meter tall giant brown bear with blood-red eyes. It charged out and, upon sighting Muria, attacked him without hesitation.

Upon seeing the brutal bear charging out of the tree hole, Muria was momentarily stunned by the ferocious aura. As the bear swung its enormous paws at him…

Muria snapped back into reality, but his body had already instinctively reacted before his consciousness did. He lifted his hand and blocked the bear paws head-on.

However, Muria was struck dumb once again because the force transmitted through his arm was less than he expected: “Such weak power, I can barely feel anything.”

“Roar!” Seeing its attack blocked, the brutal bear roared again, raising its claws to fiercely swipe at Muria. Muria narrowed his eyes, reacting instinctively by pushing hard against the bear.

“Thud! Thud! Thud!” Under Muria’s force, the brutal bear retreated a few steps, its bulky paws booming against the ground, until finally, it landed on its rear.

“Huh!” Muria looked at the dazed brutal bear that was at this point questioning its existence, and started to ponder.

“Is this brutal bear too weak? Judging from the aura it emits, it’s at Silver Third Rank, the same as me. Has its combat power become weakened for some reason?”

Gazing at the charred fur on the underside of the brutal bear, Muria realized that this type of injury couldn’t possibly reduce the bear’s combat power. On the contrary, having been blasted awake from its sleep, the bear’s combat power exceeded its usual.

So there was only one explanation, “My strength is far stronger than I imagined. Or maybe I significantly underestimated the Titan Bloodline and Golden Dragon lineage that I possess.” He mumbled, “No wonder the two commanders were confident about my victory and weren’t worried about my failure.”

“This overwhelming power, it would be difficult for me to lose even if I wanted to. There’s no need for any Titan fighting skills,” Muria muttered to himself.

“Roar!” The enraged brutal bear regains its vigor after a brief moment of confusion. Covered in red rage, it lost almost all of its reason, and without any second thoughts, it rose up again, its pale claws gleaming.

“Swish!” The brutal bear charged into action, its huge paw bearing its claws clawing towards Muria.

Instinctively, Muria started to dodge. His past human identity and memories were still affecting him. His perception of bears remained the same: a powerful and savage beast. If one encounters a bear outdoors, humans can only choose to escape or play dead.

The continuous dodging put Muria at a disadvantage. The brutal bear’s claw grazed his unprotected arm, a light throbbing entered his mind, as if he had scratched his skin with his own fingernails.

Muria glanced down at his arm instinctively. The anticipated bloody wound was absent, replaced by four long red lines. The brutal bear’s claws hadn’t even broken his skin.

“Such a small scratch.” Muria gave a self-deprecating smile, “I’m still not used to my non-human identity. I’m a monster among monsters now!”

“If it can’t even penetrate my skin, then what the hell am I scared of?” Muria stopped dodging and charged at the brutal bear. The slight sting in his arm stirred a hint of anger in him.

Muria disregarded the brutal bear’s attack and landed a punch straight on its nose.

“Ow!” The brutal bear let out a howl of agony, its nose bleeding. It had sensed the trouble when its claws failed to cause any harm, and the punch on its nose confirmed the nature of the creature it had aroused—a monster it couldn’t possibly provoke.

So, the rage quickly subsided, the little reason it had returned, and the brutal bear detected the aura of the land’s master from Muria.

Then, with its round eyes, it saw the manic wolf pack wagging their tails at Muria from a short distance. This was its neighbor, and it recognized them instantly. It also spotted the tall Cloud Giants.

Next, the seemingly naïve brutal bear maximized its intelligence. Before Muria could give it a kick, it quickly lay flat on the ground, its furry paws above its head, and a pitiful expression in its teary eyes as it looked at Muria.

The brutal bear certainly had reasons to feel wronged. It was peacefully sleeping in its den when a large fireball inexplicably hit it. It emerged full of fury ready to “settle the score” but was ruthlessly punched instead.

“Uh!” Muria’s raised foot hung in mid-air. Looking helplessly at the submissive brutal bear in front of him, he couldn’t bring himself to step down. After all, he was the one who started this unreasonable altercation.
