King's Awakening

Chapter 736: 736: Hanging by a Thread

Chapter 736: Chapter 736: Hanging by a Thread

“Step on the wolf, tiger, leopard, get out of my way!!!”

The War God suddenly roared, and his nearly unconscious consciousness suddenly regained a bit of clarity.

He stood erect in front of everyone, defiant, his hand clutching the battle blade, like a monument.

The experts of Tianlong City saw this and felt a splash of doubt in their hearts.

What kind of willpower has brought this guy before them so far?

If it were anyone else, under their kind of torment, even if they didn’t beg for mercy, they might have already chosen to end themselves long ago.

...

But, the War God did not.

He was clearly exhausted, he could barely even hold his battle blade.

But despite this condition, his gaze remained resolute.

“Interesting, what is it that supports you up until now?” The Leader of Tianlong City curiously asked.

He could tell that the War God was already at the end of his rope, and coming up, they wouldn’t need to lift a hand; the War God would soon fall of his accord.

Therefore, he was not in a hurry.

He wanted to obtain the news of the Spirit Pill from the mouth of the War God.

Only then could he maximize his own merit.

Upon hearing these words, a touch of disdain flashed in the War God’s eyes, “You people, you will never understand, you will never understand our perseverance!”

“Ridiculous!”

The crowd of Tianlong City scoffed.

Indeed, they didn’t understand the War God’s perseverance.

Because, in the Forbidden Land, they believe in the Jungle Law of the weak being prey to the strong.

To them, things like familial affection, and sentiments for family can all be thrown to the back of their minds.

In their eyes, the only thing of importance is profit.

In the name of profit, they are willing to do anything.

“In my eyes, aren’t you all just jokes? Do you all understand what is meant by faith? What is responsibility? Do you know of a nation, of a home?” the War God’s words were laden with sarcasm.

At this moment, he didn’t seem at a disadvantage at all, his voice was powerful and full of confidence.

“Foolish guy.” Upon hearing what the War God said, the crowd from Tianlong City began to laugh.

In their eyes, what the War God had said was the most worthless thing in the Forbidden Land.

These things were completely useless.

“A bunch of lapdogs, walking corpses.” The War God continued to sneer.

The leader of Tianlong City shook his head in disappointment, “It seems you won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin, sure enough. Since that’s the case, it’s time for you to experience the methods of Tianlong City.”

As his voice fell, the leader of Tianlong City pulled out a bundle of all kinds of tools of torture from his storage bag.

“I have 108 torture tools here, each one capable of making people wish for death. I’ve tried them all on one individual, without allowing him to die.” The leader of Tianlong City said with a cruel smile.

Killing people was easy for them.

But the people like them, that was not enough satisfaction.

They wanted to see those stubborn people begging for mercy one by one under their torture, wishing they were dead.

After he spoke, the leader of Tianlong City handed the torture tools to his subordinates. The crowd then slowly approached the War God.

But, in the face of these ruthless people, there was not a hint of fear in the eyes of the War God.

“Come on! Scum!”

The War God snarled with a defiant grin, his mouth stained with blood, fearless in the face of death.

“Do it!”

The leader of Tianlong City spoke expressionlessly.

Upon hearing his command, the crowd swarmed.

But just as they approached the War God, a flash of lightning appeared in the sky.

It’s White Mitchell! White Mitchell is here!

White Mitchell, dressed all in white, arrived as if descending from heaven. His towering figure lay under a mysterious aura, as if out of place with this world.

The Original Energy of the world was suddenly in an uproar, as though all things were excited for his arrival, stirring fear in everyone.

White Mitchell was dressed in a long white robe that fluttered lightly and gracefully like a cloud. His long hair cascaded down to his waist like a waterfall. He cast his gaze forward, his eyes deep as the sea, revealing an endless wisdom and power. His face was dignified and elegant, as perfect and immaculate as a piece of sculpture, with a light blue pattern intertwined on his forehead like a coiling dragon.

White Mitchell had a remarkable aura, seemingly carrying all the power between heaven and earth. Behind him hovered a huge lotus, its petals emitting a mysterious light, pouring out like the milky way pouring out radiant colors. A light wind blew, causing the petals to gently fall like snowflakes, filling the whole world.

Unable to resist the mighty aura emanating from White Mitchell, they were drawn like moths to a flame and flocked to him, looking up to him, high above them.

“White Mitchell, is this the one we were looking for? How did he become so strong?” Someone muttered excitedly.

White Mitchell’s name passed on a mysterious and desirable light among them.

White Mitchells gave a cold glance to the crowd, but didn’t speak. But his gaze was clear and bright with a sense of peace and serenity. He stretched out his palm, gave a gentle stroke, and the clouds in the sky suddenly separated, bathing him in a holy light, like the arrival of a god.

“Has he broken through?” Someone couldn’t help asking as he watched, eyes full of expectation.

White Mitchell’s voice slowly sounded: “Those who harm my brethren, kill without mercy!”

The words were like a thunderbolt, shocking everyone who was watching. White Mitchell’s voice was severe and sharp, revealing a War God-like aura. He stretched out his palm, and instantly, blood-red swords emerged from the void, orbiting around him like numerous vicious spirits. He stared at the crowd holding the sword tightly in his hand, his eyes flashing with determination.

“Just you? Are you qualified to be so presumptuous?” The leader of Tianlong City contemptuously said. Although they were surprised by White Mitchell’s appearance, they still showed disdain.

White Mitchell stated with a lack of expression: “I alone, am sufficient!”

White Mitchell’s voice echoed throughout the world, seemingly capable of traversing time and space, reaching into everyone’s heart. Upon hearing his words, people felt an unparalleled power, a power capable of changing anything. Their hearts were filled with unknown passion, hoping to become part of White Mitchell’s power.

“Just a mere clown, do you think you can leave today? Great, you’ve delivered yourself to our doorstep, saving us the trouble of finding you!” Someone shouted, followed by more people beginning to scoff.

“Kill without mercy!”

With the fall of White Mitchell’s words, the Original Energy of the world once again responded, and a powerful force surged from all directions, gathering around White Mitchell.

The radiance growing brighter on White Mitchell’s body shone as if it were forming a beam of light, piercing the heavens and earth, connecting the strength of man with nature. His figure stood tall and imposing, becoming an insurmountable presence.

The anomalies occurring between heaven and earth reached their zenith, as if heralding a moment of grandeur. Suddenly, streaks of lightning flashed in the sky, with the roar of thunder, it seemed to be witnessing the birth of a legend.

White Mitchell observed all this and, for a moment, seemed to merge with heaven and earth. A mere gesture from him was enough to induce these cosmic anomalies.

The light around White Mitchell grew increasingly dazzling, his figure blurring, and when he reappeared, he was by the side of the God of Heaven War.

“Superior!”

The God of Heaven War hesitated for a moment, looking at White Mitchell with complicated emotions, as if he were dreambound.

“Rest assured, leave the rest to me.” White Mitchell spoke calmly.

The God of Heaven War breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing White Mitchell, a sense of comfort surged in his heart.

He was exhausted, truly exhausted.

All he wanted now was to get some sleep, disregarding every worry and blocking out every sound.

Thud!

Finally, the God of Heaven War slowly fell.

Seeing this, White Mitchell steadied him with one hand and escorted him to a calm patch of grassland. He infused him with an energy that stabilized his injuries.

After completing all this, White Mitchell holding his sword, turned to face the people of Heavenly Dragon City.

The crowd from Heavenly Dragon City saw that White Mitchell was alone, they didn’t take him seriously.

The Leader of Heavenly Dragon City even scoffed, “Kid, do you think you can challenge all of us alone? You underestimate us too much!”

White Mitchell’s face darkened, and he sneered, “No matter how many of you there are, in my eyes, you are nothing more than a bunch of ants. You hurt my brothers, today, I will make you pay in blood!”

His words were filled with rage and determination, leaving everyone speechless. No one expected one person to be so brave and resolute.

White Mitchell brandished the sword in his hand, his figure as fast as lightning, suddenly attacking the Leader of Heavenly Dragon City. His swordsmanship was excellent, and every move carried an immense killing intent and power. The fierce Sword Qi pierced the air, commanding respect.

The Leader of Heavenly Dragon City was taken aback by White Mitchell’s attack and hastily put up his defense. However, his swordsmanship seemed feeble and powerless before White Mitchell, and he was utterly defenceless.

Accompanied by the clashing sound of metal, White Mitchell’s sword momentum was like a rainbow, successively piercing through several Heavenly Dragon City experts. He stood majestically, exuding murderous intent, chilling those who saw him.

Amid the crowd’s fright, a strong will to fight erupted. They stared at White Mitchell, gradually understanding that this lone swordsman was no ordinary person.

The Leader of Heavenly Dragon City roared, a powerful aura bursting from his body. He employed his strongest sword technique, trying to compete with White Mitchell.

The clash of their swordsmanship was heart-shaking, and the sound of their fierce battle echoed in and around Heavenly Dragon City. White Mitchell jumped around, quick as lightning, his sword strokes swift as a tempest, pushing back the enemy’s offensive.

“Impossible! I am a top expert of Heavenly Dragon City, how could I lose to a youngster like you!” The Leader of Heavenly Dragon City roared.

White Mitchell sneered, expressing disdain, “Top expert? Nonsense!”

He launched a series of aggressive attacks, his swordsman technique like a raging storm. The Leader of Heavenly Dragon City was on the verge of collapse, unable to resist any longer.

Seeing this, the crowd became enraged. They drew their weapons, rushing to attack White Mitchell. However, he was to handle their assault with ease. His swordsmanship was fierce like a storm, leaving no breathing room for his opponents.

“You think you can defeat Heavenly Dragon City with just you?” Although the Leader of Heavenly Dragon City was in a miserable state, he still retorted defiantly.

White Mitchell’s face was grim, a trace of killing intent flashed in his eyes, “I have no intention of making an enemy of anyone. But, I also don’t fear anyone. If you want to kill me, first ask whether my sword agrees or not!”

His words thundered in people’s hearts, causing a palpable sense of terror.

All around him, people were instinctively stepping back, but faced with the command and authority of their leader, they bravely besieged White Mitchell without retreating. White Mitchell’s eyes flashed with resolve, devoid of fear. He raised his sword, the glimmering blade became all the more ruthless.

It was astounding that the strength of one man could so effortlessly overpower the many. This display of power invoked awe in many, but they refused to retreat. Their pride and honor were intertwined with the glory and dignity of the Heavenly Dragon City. They were resolute, refusing to let an outsider disgrace their land.

Thus, everyone unleashed their fullest attacks, their martial arts skills were like a violent storm, with sword light, blade shadows, fists, feet blending into an intense tableau of the battlefield. White Mitchell was still facing everyone alone. He moved as swiftly as lightning, agile as a cat. Each of his attacks neutralized the combined efforts of his adversaries, leaving them floundering for a way to assault him.

Although White Mitchell’s swordsmanship was fierce and ruthless, he had not inflicted any harm but merely forced his opponents back with his superior sword skills. Their attacks constantly missed their mark, as though they were facing an impregnable fortress no matter how they assaulted it.

Minutes and seconds stretched, and the intense battle had already lasted dozens of rounds, the situation stagnating. Along with extraordinary strength, White Mitchell’s stamina was slowly depleting. Yet because they were working in unison to maximize their attack, his opponents still managed to maintain powerful combat power.

The leader of the Heavenly Dragon City glared menacingly at White Mitchell. Rage and reluctance filled his heart. He longed to slay this arrogant young man immediately. He made a silent vow, even if he died here, he would bring this man to his knees!

The leader then began a fiercer attack, his sword momentum becoming increasingly severe, speed ever more rapid. White Mitchell faced such an attack, his eyes became even colder, the momentum of his sword more devastating. All his attacks were precise, offering the leader no opportunity to dodge.

The battlefield’s intensity was akin to a volcanic eruption, blood surging continuously. Everyone knew this battle was crucial. It would either overturn the fate of Heavenly Dragon City completely or razed their hopes if they lost.

Feeling the depletion of his strength, a hint of hesitation appeared in White Mitchell’s mind. He knew that if it continued this way, it would be challenging to overcome these united enemies. However, he also understood that he could only protect his cherished dreams if he persisted and gave his all.

White Mitchell gritted his teeth, transforming all his uncertainties into unyielding determination. He raised his sword again, a fierce glint flashed through his eyes.

“Kill!” White Mitchell uttered in a low voice as chilling as the cold wind.

His sword momentum escalated, the glimmers of his sword coagulated into an astonishing beam of light akin to a thunderbolt, striking out towards the leader of the Heavenly Dragon City.

The leader sensed the lethal threat, dodged swiftly but still failed to escape the cover of White Mitchell’s blade. He felt an overwhelming force approaching, suddenly lost balance, and got dramatically ejected from his position.

Seeing this scene, everyone’s hearts shuddered involuntarily.

“What are you standing there for? Attack him now!” the ejected Heavenly Dragon City’s leader roared.

At this crucial moment, they cannot allow White Mitchell to escape.

White Mitchell looked on calmly, seemingly disdainful of the Heavenly Dragon City’s high-level fighters.

Without hesitation, he waved his sword, with a sweeping blade glimmer akin to a swift wind rushing forward like a series of rapidly surging tsunamis, attacking the high-level fighters of the Heavenly Dragon City.

These high-level fighters were not easy to deal with either. They quickly responded, each unleashing their various spells and martial arts, trying to block White Mitchell’s attack.

The battlefield instantly plunged into chaos, swords clashed, flames splattered, and thunder flashed. White Mitchell moved as agilely as a flowing cloud, dodging the attacks while simultaneously launching his attacks. The swing of his blade carried a burst of wild momentum, demanding respect.

The Heavenly Dragon City’s high-level fighters were under immense pressure, and they began to worry. White Mitchell’s strength far exceeded their expectations. Not only had he achieved a nearly magical realm in his swordsmanship, but his internal strength was also immeasurably profound. They gritted their teeth and decided to fight against White Mitchell with all their strength.

However, White Mitchell did not give them a chance to act on this decision. The more he fought, the more courage he gained. His sword light swept across the battlefield, dispelling all the enemies that stood in his way. His elusive technique was similar to being at multiple places at the same time, making it difficult for his opponents to trace him.

At the same time, the sky was filled with frequent lightning and thunderstorms. The intense atmosphere sent chills down everyone’s spine. Mysterious blue lightning bolts descended and struck towards White Mitchell directly. These bolts of lightning carried a destructive force that was impossible to resist.

White Mitchell’s eyes flickered with anger. He knew that the leader of Heavenly Dragon City was behind this attack, attempting to defeat him with thunder power. But White Mitchell did not falter. He concentrated his mind to resist this enormous pressure, his body filled with an unwavering strength.

He swiftly pivoted and dodged the blue lightning attack. He raised his sword once more, the glint of his blade flashed like a meteor streaking across the sky, heading towards the leader of the Heavenly Dragon City.

The leader’s eyes turned sharp as he felt the murderous intent in White Mitchell’s sword light. He knew he had no option for escape. He steeled his heart and abandoned any thoughts of defense, mounting an all-out attack.

The two strong forces collided, and the air around them seemed to rip apart as the sounds echoed through the battlefield. Sword light tangled with sword light as flames clashed with lightning in the air. The battlefield turned into chaos, filled with an air of destruction.

Nonetheless, White Mitchell’s sword light became sharper, his attacks more ruthless. He seemed to have transformed into a roaring dragon; his sword intent ruthless and unfeeling, a sight that shook everyone who witnessed it.
