****************

The atmosphere on the ship fell into silence, and all eyes turned to Sasuke.

Although Sasuke was known for his arrogance, sharp tongue, and love for showing off, he had also earned the crew's respect through his strength and loyalty.

Despite occasionally settling personal grudges under the guise of sparring, none of the Whitebeard Pirates' captains truly disliked him.

Everyone could see that Sasuke had come to regard the ship as his home.

Even though he never called Whitebeard "Pops," over the past five years, the crew had grown accustomed to having this strong, aloof brat on board.

But the appearance of the Dark-Dark Fruit had disrupted this harmony.

There was still a chance to turn things around, though.

Marco glanced at Thatch, who was also stunned.

This Dark-Dark Fruit had been discovered by Thatch, and the right to decide its fate lay with him.

'If Thatch refuses to hand over the fruit, perhaps...'

No, he couldn't think like that.

Marco immediately shook his head, feeling ashamed of his own dark thoughts.

Teach, on the other hand, was far more nervous.

What would he do if Sasuke took the Dark-Dark Fruit?

He had hidden within the Whitebeard Pirates for so many years, waiting for this very opportunity.

If Sasuke ate the fruit...

The thought of Sasuke's strength, already on par with Whitebeard's increasing even more, filled Teach with despair.

Finally, Thatch snapped out of his daze.

He looked at the Dark-Dark Fruit in his hand, then at Sasuke, and without hesitation, tossed the fruit to him with a smile.

"Here you go, Sasuke. After all these years of searching, you've finally found what you wanted."

"No need to thank me. If you really want to show your gratitude, just try my new dishes in the future!"

At the end of his sentence, Thatch winked playfully.

Teach's eyes were suddenly filled with desperation.

'Of course... Thatch would do this.'

'Damn it!'

"Sasuke..." Ace looked at Sasuke, opening his mouth as if to say something, but ultimately remained silent.

Catching the fruit, Sasuke felt a warmth in his heart, even though he had expected this outcome.

'These guys are such idiots,' he thought with an inward smile.

"I remember saying that I don't care much for the power of Devil Fruits. How can something with such obvious weaknesses compare to the power of the Uchiha clan?"

A trace of disdain flashed in Sasuke's eyes as he weighed the Dark-Dark Fruit in his hand.

"I only promised to find this fruit for someone..."

"Also, Thatch, I never said your new dishes were that bad. But thank you"

"Huh?" Ace was stunned.

"So... are you leaving the Whitebeard Pirates?"

Sasuke shot him a blank look, then walked into his room, leaving behind a single sentence.

"I don't have any plans to leave yet."

Marco, catching on, laughed.

"Thatch! Did you hear that? Sasuke doesn't hate your experiments!"

Thatch joined in the laughter.

"That guy's just talking. I'll make some dango tonight and see if he can resist!"

Once again, the ship was filled with joy.

That night, Whitebeard also learned about Sasuke finding the Dark-Dark Fruit and deciding to stay.

He was overjoyed, and the banquet lasted late into the night, with many crew members passing out from the festivities.

"Teach! You're on night watch!" Marco patted Teach on the shoulder.

"Leave it to me!" Teach replied with his usual honest smile.

As Marco walked into his cabin, Teach's smile faded.

His eyes narrowed as he stared at Sasuke's room.

After much deliberation, Teach decided to take a risk and steal the Dark-Dark Fruit.

He knew he was no match for Sasuke in a direct fight, but stealing the fruit while Sasuke was drunk seemed feasible.

Two hours later, after ensuring everyone was asleep, Teach began his plan.

He tiptoed into Sasuke's room, where the sound of steady breathing indicated Sasuke was deep in sleep.

Spotting a small wooden box on the bedside table, Teach's lips curled into a smirk.

Closer, closer...

Holding his breath, Teach carefully lifted the box.

Opening it, he saw the Dark-Dark Fruit resting inside.

His face lit up with ecstasy, and he barely suppressed a laugh.

With the fruit in hand, it was time to retreat.

But Teach hesitated.

Now that he had the Dark-Dark Fruit, staying with the Whitebeard Pirates was no longer an option.

Moreover, with the fruit's power, he could set his sights on the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, said to be the strongest in the world.

But Sasuke was an obstacle he couldn't avoid.

'What if... I take care of Sasuke now?'

A flash of madness crossed Teach's eyes.

His arm, coated in jet-black Armament Haki, shot toward Sasuke's heart!

In the darkness, Sasuke's eyes snapped open, his expression cold and indifferent.

"[Shinra Tensei]."

Boom!

A violent explosion rocked the ship, jolting the crew awake.

They rushed out to find a gaping hole in Sasuke's room and Sasuke standing with his Kusanagi sword, sending slashes of energy toward the sea.

"What happened, Sasuke?" Ace demanded urgently.

"Teach sneaked into my room, stole the Dark-Dark Fruit, and tried to kill me. I caught him," Sasuke replied coldly.

The crew was stunned.

Teach, the ship's so-called "good guy," had done something so treacherous?

But upon checking, teach was really missing from his room, some stuff were packed and taken, and he was indeed on night watch.

Ace was furious—Teach was a member of his division.

"Where is he?"

"He escaped," Sasuke said, his gaze fixed on the dark sea.

"He used the force of my [Shinra Tensei] to fall into the water and stole a boat to get away."

The crew rushed to check and found one of the boats missing.

Soon, Whitebeard was awakened.

After hearing what had happened, he spoke to Sasuke in a deep, solemn voice.

"Sasuke, I'll make this right. Don't worry—I'll deal with him."

Whitebeard's anger was like that of an old lion.

Betrayal by a family member, especially an attempt to kill another, was unforgivable.

Sasuke nodded slightly, about to respond, when Ace interrupted.

"Pops! Let me handle this. Teach was my subordinate. I'll settle this myself!"
