Chapter 33 - The Mischiefs That Can Only Be Taught By Allen (1)
About two hours later.
Even after the sun had set and the magical streetlights were lighting up all over town, the stores along the main street were still bustling with excitement.
“Brother… we are back!”
"Oh, welcome back.”
Allen was drinking tea alone on the terrace of a coffee shop when Erika and Charlotte returned.
Both of them had big smiles on their glowing faces.
“That cheese specialty store is super delicious! We ate a lot together, didn't we?”
“Yes, we did. I'm so full.”
“Well, that's great. Now then, I think it's about time we leave for home… huh?”
Allen laughed at Charlotte, but his eyes suddenly caught sight of something on the main street.
He suddenly stood up from his seat and sucked in a sharp breath.
“Hey! You there! You've got some nerve, slacking off! Get back up on your feet and pick up the trash!”
“Yes, sir! I'm sorry!”
The rogue who had stopped to stretch trembled and immediately bowed his head in apology.
The other rogues and Magus scattered about the main street were trembling with pale faces. All of them were worn out and covered in wounds, but they were all doing their best to pick up trash, carry the luggage of the elderly, and erase graffiti on the walls.
The Rampaging Cavern gang that had been causing so much trouble for the townspeople recently was nowhere in sight - they have now converted into a community service gang instead.
This was the result of Allen's disciplinary action while Charlotte and Erika had gone out to eat.
“You really did a fantastic job, sir.”
A street vendor told Allen with a small smile.
Apparently, she had just closed up her store and was on her way home when she witnessed what happened. Staring at Magus and the others, she narrowed her eyes at them in disgust.
“Those guys get into fights here and there, they litter garbage everywhere and they always cause such a ruckus everywhere they go… truly bringing misery and distress to everyone. I never thought it would turn out this way.”
“Just how on earth did you do it?”
Charlotte cocked her head to the side and asked.
The street vendor averted her gaze awkwardly, “Well–”.
“At any rate, I'm sure the title ‘Great Demon Lord’ will become well known in the city. Just look at them, not one of them would ever think of going up against him.”“I had already gone easy on him.”
“What exactly has been going on in the last two hours?"
Charlotte was still wondering but did not pursue the matter further.
Allen shrugged his shoulders at the street vendor.
“Well, please don't mind me. I was just taking personal revenge.”
“Hahaha, you're an interesting person,” The street vendor laughed and looked at Charlotte.
“Aren’t you lucky to have such a reliable lover? He takes such good care of you.”
“Hey, wait a minute–”
“No, you have got it wrong, shopkeeper! I am not–”
It's not that kind of intimate relationship.@@novelbin@@
For some reason, the words Allen calmly told Erika at noon today did not come out of his throat smoothly this time.
As such, Allen and Charlotte fell silent.
The street vendor chuckled at their silence, wondering what they were thinking.
“Oh, I see… is that so?”
“It’s something of that sort.”
For some reason, Erika agreed and nodded.
What on earth is she agreeing with?
While Allen was cracking his head for a good reply, the street vendor bowed his head and left.
What do you think?
