Chapter 668: Chapter 668 Already in Hand_1
The Sleepless Bar was one of the more famous bars in Gonzalez City.
In coastal cities, entertainment venues abound.
At this moment.
The bar owner, Caden Cook, was sitting at the front desk, smoking a cigarette.
This bar was originally part of a chain owned by Aron Jackson, and Caden Cook was in charge of managing it on a daily basis.
As a reward, Aron Jackson had transferred the property rights of the bar to Caden Cook.
Who would have thought that Fabian Percival would suddenly return from abroad?
Under Devlin’s instigation, and just like Dominating Tiger, the once nurtured Caden Cook turned to Fabian Percival without hesitation.
“Why so gloomy?”
Someone came over, carrying two bottles of alcohol.
“Mr. Thorneycroft has now offended Ivan Reed, and Aron Jackson is still eying us covetously. I’m worried!”
Caden Cook sighed, picked up a bottle of alcohol from the table, and drank half of it in one gulp.
He had been present at the meeting today.
But even as the day turned to night, he had not seen Brown Bread, the second son of the Martin Family, or any of the others return.
Eventually, Fabian Percival received a phone call, and his face turned deathly pale in an instant.
Everyone wisely took their leave.
“What do you think was the content of the phone call Mr. Thorneycroft received?”
An employee leaned close to Caden Cook and asked in a grave tone.
“Probably not good news,” Caden Cook glanced around to ensure no one was nearby and muttered softly, “If Mr. Thorneycroft really falls, we’re going to have a rough time!”
“No kidding!”
The employee exhaled a sigh, equally worried, “Aron Jackson, with his hatred of evil, will definitely not let us off.”
They had all once belonged to Aron Jackson and knew full well their former boss’s hatred for wrongdoings.
At one point, Dominating Tiger had even risked his life to save Aron Jackson, but wasn’t he still ruthlessly killed for betraying him?
Not to mention their fate!
“So what can we do? Since we chose to betray Aron Jackson, now we can only beg Mr. Thorneycroft to hold his ground and drive Aron Jackson out!”
Caden Cook slammed his fist on the table and proceeded to finish off the half-bottle of alcohol he held.
The rapid changes in the situation were unforeseen.
Initially, Devlin sent someone to inform them that within half a month, Gonzalez City would be completely under Fabian Percival’s control.
But look at it now.
Fabian Percival’s forces have suffered heavy losses.
Rebecca Brown, who led the betrayal, died tragically in the mountains.
Although there were several close calls where they almost killed Aron Jackson, ultimately, they all failed.
Now, with Ivan Reed arriving in Gonzalez City, the already murky situation was clouded with another layer of smoke.
“Boss, better plan ahead!”
The employee brought over another bottle of alcohol.
All of them were Caden Cook’s employees, but their initial boss had been Aron Jackson.
Therefore, they were not very supportive of the betrayal.
But with their boss set on joining Fabian Percival, as employees, they naturally had to support him unconditionally.
“To hell with it!”
Crash!
Caden Cook violently smashed the empty bottle in his hand, his face already flushed with a touch of drunkenness.
“Yo! What’s got into you, Brother Tiger?”
Just then, a few men in suits walked in through the door.
The leader wore gold-rimmed glasses, hands in his pockets, exuding an imposing presence.
“Young Master Jerison!”
Seeing the newcomer, Caden Cook quickly stood up and walked over with a smile, “What brought you here?”
“What wind? An evil wind, a nefarious wind!”
Jerison Justin sat down where Caden Cook had been sitting moments before, propped up his legs, and took a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket.
“What do you mean by that, Young Master Jerison? I’m afraid I don’t understand,” Caden Cook said, his drunkenness suddenly lessening.
Sitting before him was Jerison Justin, no ordinary man.
Ever since Devlin had turned these people, a supervision department had been established specifically.
The supervision department had no other work but to keep a constant watch over Fabian Percival’s employees.
Anyone who dared to make private contact with Aron Jackson or harbor thoughts of betrayal was dealt with immediately!
Caden Cook had heard of at least a dozen brothers who were found floating in the river the next day merely for speaking well of Aron Jackson.
Whenever these people showed up, it was never for anything good!
“You know very well why I am here, Brother Tiger.”
Jerison Justin took a drag of his cigarette, gently blowing out the smoke.
“I really don’t understand—please enlighten me, young master Jerison.”
Cold sweat started to form on Caden Cook’s forehead.
“Brother Tiger, are you playing dumb with me?” Jerison Justin’s voice was icy cold as he commanded, “Bring him in!”
No sooner had his words faded than two thugs walked in through the door, dragging a man covered in blood.
“Joaquin!”
Seeing the man, Caden Cook’s face changed drastically!
Because the beaten man was none other than his own personal staff member, Joaquin!
Joaquin had been by his side.
And now it had been a full five years!
“Young master Jerison, what’s going on here!”
Caden Cook turned around, his eyes burning with anger as he looked at Jerison Justin: “What do you mean by this? Just because Mr. Thorneycroft trusts you, you think you can beat someone up at will?”
That morning, he had sent Joaquin to buy cigarettes, but there had been no word from him all day.
He had thought about sending people to look for him, but then he received a notification from Fabian Percival in the afternoon to attend a meeting at the Five-lakes Clubhouse.
When he returned in the evening, preoccupied with concern for his own future, Caden Cook didn’t give it much thought.
It was only now, seeing Joaquin covered in blood, that he realized what had happened.
The man had been captured by the Supervising Department!
“Brother Tiger, I’ve given you face; don’t you go slapping mine!”
Jerison Justin’s expression darkened, and he suddenly smashed the beer bottle beside him on the floor!
Crack!
Whoosh!
The door to the bar’s office was abruptly closed.
“What do you mean by this!”
Caden Cook leaned back, eyeing the person before him warily.
“Tiger Boy, your employee has been colluding with Aron Jackson. Were you aware of this?” Jerison Justin looked at Caden Cook dispassionately, a weapon box having appeared in his hand at some point.
The dark weapon box.
The mouth of the weapon box was pointing at Caden Cook’s head.
The air was deathly still.
Whoosh!
“Ahh…”
An employee who had been drinking with Caden Cook let out a bloodcurdling scream, his hands covered in blood.
His phone had also fallen to the ground, its screen shattered by a dart.
“Kid, you were thinking of calling for help?”
Jerison Justin let out a light chuckle, then pointed the mouth of the weapon box at Caden Cook again, “You hold a certain status within the organization, and I don’t want to open the weapon box rashly. But please, give me an explanation.”
“What the hell do I have to explain to you!”
Rage filled Caden Cook’s eyes: “You’ve injured two of my brothers, what more do you want?”
“That’s because they betrayed Mr. Thorneycroft.”
Jerison Justin violently opened a weapon box toward Joaquin on the ground!
Whoosh!
Joaquin, already weak, spasmed just once upon being hit by the weapon box before life left him completely.
“You, Jerison!”
Caden Cook pointed at Jerison Justin, his eyes nearly shooting fire!
“I will never share the sky with you!”
“Then I’ll just send you on your way!” Jerison Justin stood up, spitting the cigarette butt out of his mouth.
Whoosh!
The weapon box fired.
Caden Cook looked incredulously at the large bloodstain on his chest, pointing to Jerison Justin: “I am… you dare to kill… kill…”
Thud!
He fell to the ground, eyes wide open in death.
“Let’s go!”
Jerison Justin stood up and strode out of the Sleepless Bar.
Whoosh!
As he reached the door, he fired a weapon box at the employee who had tried to make a phone call.
“Master Jaxston, where shall we go next?”
Once they had left the bar, a man in a suit looked toward ‘Jerison Justin’ and asked softly.
“Let’s take out a few more of Fabian Percival’s loyalists, see how he cleans up this mess!”
‘Jerison Justin’ got into the car and took out his phone: “Master, I’ve succeeded on my end.”
What do you think?
