Chapter 114 First Domain Lord
Elias glanced at the woman as her mask began chipping away. Her trembling hands reached out to him, and she begged him to come closer, asking for his help.
After a brief glance at the woman, Elias continued on his way, not sparing her a second look. Even when she called for his help louder, he completely ignored her.
"Help her!" Another masked person stepped in front of Elias, blocking his path. His voice was firm, yet it seemed to lack any emotion.
The other masked beings also began surrounding him, like puppets being controlled by strings. "Help her..."
They had left only one opening in their encirclement, which led to the woman with the cracked mask.
"I don't have time for this." Multiple blades came out from the shadows, cutting all the creatures around Elias in half, including the masks that had kept their forms hidden.
"How long are you going to pretend?" After clearing his surroundings, Elias asked.
The woman with the cracked mask, watched him as a strange flash appeared in her eyes. She stood up, and the cracks in her mask started healing.
Her mask also changed color, as her physique started changing. From the physique of an old woman, he transformed into the physique of a man. Even the mask changed color, becoming more prominent.
"Aren't humans supposed to help others?" the masked man asked. Even though his voice was low, his words reached Elias, who looked back.
"As a Domain Lord, don't you already know that we can't be called humans anymore?" Elias asked, not looking the least bit surprised at the appearance of the Domain Lord.
"It's good to see you again, child. You seem to have become stronger than before. I suppose that storm was also your doing!" The masked man approached Elias in a carefree manner.
It was only when he reached within five meters range of Elias, that a dark blade came out of the ground, cutting him in two halves. Each half fell on the ground with a thud.
"Isn't that a bit rude?" The voice came from another direction, as another masked being in the distance started transforming and looked at Elias. "I thought your enmity was with Zesten. Are you sure you aren't lost, little lamb?"
"I am at the right place," Elias answered, as he raised his right hand, making another blade emerge from the masked creature's shadow, cutting through another manifestation.
"You are the one that entered my domain, and you're trying to hurt me?" The voice came again, as another manifestation started transforming. "Little lamb, did no one tell you that a Domain Lord can't be killed inside their domain?"
"No matter h-" the manifestation tried speaking, but before it could finish, it was also destroyed. Unfortunately, no matter how many times Elias did it, the same thing happened.
"No matter how many times you kill a manifestation, I cannot be killed. You are only wasting your ti-"
Swiss~
Another manifestation was destroyed and fell to the ground.
"I really never took you for a stubborn fool. But it's entertaining, so I will let you play around until you are exhausted. At that moment, it will stop being entertaining. And when you stop being entertaining, I will have to kill you."
Swiss~
Another dark blade sliced through a manifestation, but once again, the same nightmare followed.
"Little lamb, you have selected the wrong target this time. I'm not a weakling like Zesten!" Echless took over another manifestation, standing on the roof of a house.
"Why does it sound like you're getting uneasy?" Elias asked before raising a gun and shooting at the target.
"You are overthi-"
Bang~
One after another, Echless kept changing bodies, but every time he did that, he was killed right away. Within 10 minutes, he had been killed over a hundred times. And the more he died, the more impatient he was starting to sound.
"Aren't we truly wasting time here? What's even the point if he can just appear again? No wonder my previous master didn't waste time here." The drone stayed next to Elias, sounding bored.
"You're wrong. There is a point. He can't be revived for eternity. Every time a manifestation that he possesses is killed, that manifestation is lost forever. He is losing a part of his soul every time. And when he is on his last one, he will..."
Elias shot the last target in his sight. But this time, Echless didn't appear again.
"He will return to his real body," he said, gazing towards the Palace. He took a deep breath and started running towards the Palace.
"Hmm? What's the point of delaying the inevitable then?" The Ego followed after him. "Why would he do it?"
"Because he isn't certain that he can defeat me. He wanted me to get tired and leave, believing that it was an impossible task."
"How did you find out?"
"His Material Composition." Elias answered, but the ego doesn't understand what he was even talking about. It was as if Elias was speaking some otherworldly language before him.
"Just what is with that child?!" In the Palace, a man woke up inside a coffin, his expressions darkened. He reached out his hand, and picked up a wooden mask.
He placed the wooden mask on his face, covering his scarred face. He stepped out of the coffin, and walked over to the window, looking at the person in the distance who was running towards his palace.
"Hmm?" He swiftly stepped sideways, watching a small projectile brush past the edge of his mark, chipping it only slightly.
Behind the mask, the man's lips twitched. "Did I treat him too courteously? He seems to be trying to overreach now. Fine. Since you want war, then I will give you a war!"
The man raised his hand, and brought it crashing down. A giant bolt of lightning materialized in the sky, and fell down. The bolt followed the movement of the man.
The bolt fell from the sky, striking the boy that was running towards the palace. When the bright light disappeared, only a heavy crater was left behind, which had devoured half the city. But Echless didn't care.
The only thing he cared about was that Elias was killed. Not even a corpse was left behind in the crater.
"I told him to not be overbearing. Just because I was being cautious and wanted to avoid a battle, he thought I was a weak coward?! He should have left when I gave him a chance."
Echless gently brushed his fingers against the corner of his mask that was missing a small part. Following the gentle touch, the chipped corner of the mask started healing.
"How could I leave without such precious material?" A voice fell in Echless's ears. Behind the mask, his eyes widened.
He couldn't even react on time. All he saw was that his surroundings had started spinning, as the world around him turned upside down. His head flew off his body, and fell on the ground with a thud. The mask fell off his face, revealing a face covered with scars.
His lips weakly trembled, as he watched his body also fall on the ground while his vision became blurry. He saw a person's feet before him that landed on the mask, shattering it into thousands of pieces.
What do you think?
