Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 125 Bidding

The moment Elias answered, the girl who had kept her head down all this time raised her head, looking at him for the first time.

Her father's reaction was even sharper. Elias felt a killing intent like never before, one that almost made his blood run cold. All his senses screamed at him to protect himself.

Even the strength that he had devoured from other fables began to stir restlessly. But despite that power, he didn't believe he could actually stop the man, even if he wanted to.

It was as if time itself had frozen when the man heard his name, especially his last name. Like lightning, the man's hand reached out to grab him by his throat.

Elias wanted to move back, knowing that if he were caught, his neck would be crushed. But his movements were like those of a snail compared to the man's. He could only watch the hand coming for him.

Clutch~

Elias watched the man's hand stop merely a few centimeters away from his throat, a powerful gust of wind making his robe flutter. The man's wrist was being held by Freya, who had finally moved to stop him before he could hurt anyone.

"Shouldn't you behave better in someone else's home?" Freya asked, maintaining a smile on her face while firmly holding his wrist.

"Was it amusing to bring him before me, knowing full well...?" the man asked with a frown.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Freya replied, shrugging her shoulders innocently.

Although she wasn't the one who brought Elias here for this, she still found it somewhat amusing to see Jeskirin like this after his previous arrogant behavior.

She had finally gotten back at him, in her own way. But just for this, she couldn't let the boy die, at least not in her presence. What dignity was she going to have left if someone from her academy was killed by an outsider when she was right there?

"Also, with your stature, I am certain you wouldn't go as far as to hurt a child, right?" she asked. Although she maintained her composure, but even she knew that if they were to fight here, then it was the Academy that was going to suffer.

Jeskirin retracted his hand, controlling his initial outburst. However, his gaze towards Elias didn't soften.

"Does he still count as a child? This demon devoured everything that he touched." He kept his hands behind his back, holding them tightly, as if worried that if he freed them, he might again lose control of his emotions.

He looked down on the boy, who had no idea why he was again being targeted. At first, he thought that it was again because of his family. But from the man's words, it looked like he hated his family less, and hated him more. But why?

Elias was quite confused, but then he heard Jeskirin further continue, "No wonder I hated these eyes..."

"You can take him back," Freya told one of the professors, trying to send him away before things could deteriorate further.

This much messing with Jeskirin was fine, but she knew that he was a monster that might run wild if she kept testing his limits.

"Let's go." A Professor grabbed Elias's shoulder, and opened a portal to take him away from this place.

"Will he be taking part in it?" Jeskirin asked Freya, watching the portal open.

"He is only a first-year student, not a second-year," Freya answered. "So he won't."

"How disappointing..." The man narrowed his gaze. "What if he has to participate? I can give you one extra slot for him. You would only benefit."

"You think I don't know what you want?" Freya scoffed in response. "What's the point of one extra slot if it will go to him? He will end up dying right away anyway. Your daughter alone can kill him in a fraction of a second."

"In any case, there is already an Ashborn child participating. Why do you want a second one?"

"Three extra slots. You can pick two others of your choice. But the third must go to him..." That was the last thing that Elias heard, as if he was some kind of item that they were bidding for.

He wanted to hear more, but he was taken inside the portal, leading to the residence of the first-year students. The portal closed behind him, and he couldn't continue hearing their conversation.

Even after Elias had left, the negotiations continued, if they could even be called that.

"Do you really want your nephew dead that badly?"

"Don't call that 'thing' my nephew!" Jeskirin's voice grew louder, as he again lost his temper. Throughout the trip, he had only lost his temper twice, and both times, it was related to Elias.

"Silas might accept that 'thing' as his son, but I will never."

"You must be really eager to watch him die. But it would go against the rules if I listened to you." Freya let out a sigh, shaking her head. "As a Dean, I can't break rules."

"Four slots for you, only one must go to him! I will also allow you to choose one third-year!" The man increased the bid.

"However..." Freya's eyes immediately lit up. The moment she saw Jeskirin's daughter, she had already lost hope. But with this kind of leeway, she once again regained some hope.

And if all it cost was someone like Elias whom even his father didn't care much about, then it was a deal worth taking in her eyes.

"It is too good of a deal to reject. I will accept the offer." She made it seem like she was still a little hesitant as she accepted the deal from the man.

"Good..." Jeskirin's fists clenched tighter, his gaze shifting to his daughter.

....

In another place, Elias was brought to the house that was assigned to him as the top scorer of the assessment trial of the Frost World, unaware that the deal about him was already completed.
