Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 217 217: Failed Analysis

If she actually broke the barrier, then she was going to find out that no one was inside. She might even find a hidden tunnel that led straight to the eye of the storm, where he came out from.

"It's time to return. Is he still not waking up?" Helen rubbed her forehead, and thought about breaking the barrier. "Maybe I should break the barrier. There is no danger for him outside anyway."

Helen actually decided to break the barrier and wake up Kaelen. He could sleep in a more comfortable environment inside the battleship after all. Moreover, she was in a hurry to return Kaelen to the Academy.

Elias was worried about her breaking the barrier. Although it was suspicious, he took the lead to say something

"He is someone who didn't wake up even with the explosions. You think he can wake up from your voice? That barrier most probably prevents any disturbance to the owner inside. You can only wait for him to wake up and come out on his own."

"I guessed that much. It's why I was planning to break the barrier. It might be hard for you, but for us, it's child's play at this stage." Helen reached out her hand, and gathered condensed essence on the tip of her fingers.

"If I'm not wrong, these must be the Ice Phoenix Flames. Is he the Inheritor that the Academy is looking for?" he asked, but he didn't wait for the confirmation, as Helen was almost ready to break the barrier. "If that's the case, then breaking the barrier might actually hurt him."

"What?" Helen abruptly stopped, as the thought of hurting the Inheritor scared her. If she actually hurt the person that the Dean was looking for, then wasn't she going to be skinned alive as punishment?

"Why do you say that?" she asked.

"If the Ice Phoenix Flames are connected to his soul, then forcefully breaking the barrier might actually hurt his soul. I don't really care for his life, but he is the only person that I failed to kill in his test. If he is to die, then it has to be at my hands."

Elias didn't want them to find it suspicious that he was helping Kaelen after trying to kill him. So he tossed out a vague excuse about wanting to kill Kaelen on his own.

Elten didn't say anything through the process, and even Elias didn't know what he was thinking. If anyone wanted Kaelen dead the most, then it was Elten. And now his younger brother was saving that child?

He was worried that it might make Elten hate him, but there was no other choice if he wanted to protect his other identity.

As for the soul being hurt with the destruction of the barrier, he just made that story up. There was no way the destruction of that barrier was actually going to hurt him.

He just tossed out that possibility to muddy the water as the Ice Phoenix Flames were not that well known, despite being connected to the Academy.

"You... You are right. If the flames are connected to his soul, then it might actually hurt him." Helen quickly dispersed her energy, finding the possibility of Elias's words being true.

She even felt a little grateful to Elias for helping her, even though his reasons were somewhat vicious like wanting to kill Kaelen on his own.

"I guess I can only wait for him to wake up and come out on his own." She summoned a chair, and sat before the barrier.

The battleship in the sky was on standby. As soon as Kaelen came out, they were going to leave this place.

"If there is nothing else, I will be returning to my Soul Beast to check on the progress of her evolution." Elias also prepared to leave, taking one last glance at the scrolls in the sky that were folding back again, growing smaller.

He walked back to the storm, but this time, he wasn't alone. Elten also walked next to him.

After they were far enough from Helen, he asked, "Why did you save him? Didn't I tell you that I want the Inheritor to be dead?"

"I didn't help him. I helped you, brother," Elias answered. "The destruction of that barrier wouldn't kill that boy, would it? At most, it will only hurt his soul."

"What do you think will happen if his soul was hurt? The Academy would try to help him, and hide him from the world until his soul healed. At that point, will you be able to kill him?" He further asked, making his reasoning even more clear.

It took him a lot of effort to think of a reason like this to justify his actions. But finally, he managed to think of something to fool his brother.

"If you want him dead, then we can't allow the Academy to take him into hiding. If his soul isn't hurt, the Academy wouldn't hide him from the world. It will give us many more opportunities to kill him in the future. Isn't that for the better?'"

"That is... true." Even Elten didn't deny that Elias had a good reason. But for an odd reason, something still felt out of place.

Elias soon reached the merger storm, that only he could pass through. He took a step forward, and was about to enter the storm when Elten called out to him.

"Wait a minute."

'Hmm? Did he still not believe my excuse?' Elias frowned, coming to a sudden halt.

He quickly recovered his expressions and turned around.

"Yes brother?"

"I had something to give you. I forgot it last time, but here." Elten tossed out a small object towards Elias, who caught it.

"Hmm? What is it?" This was the first time that Elias had seen an object that even the Material Analysis failed on.

Normally, he could at least see if there was a possibility of material merger or not, but he couldn't even see that. It was as if this object wasn't recognised by his Architect Class.

"I don't know. For me, it's been no different than paper weight. But someone really insisted that I needed to give it to you in the future."

"Who insisted?" Elias asked. Someone wanted this strange item to be given to him, and they asked someone like Elten? Was it their father? If not, then who else could get Elten to do something for them?

Elten didn't answer him. He simply waved his hand, and walked away.

Elias remained there for quite some time. After Elten disappeared from his sight, he also took a step back and disappeared within the storm, still having a lot of questions about this strange item.
