Chapter 754: Chapter 754 - The Serpent's Warning
"Legendary-grade monster?" Broken repeated, still processing Ronan's words.
"Yeah... haha," Ronan replied with a chuckle. "It was both a nightmare and one of the most incredible things we've ever experienced."
He leaned on the railing as he recounted the event. "It was massive... something like a sea serpent or maybe a dragon. I'm not even sure. It just rose out of the ocean, this enormous thing that could've swallowed our entire ship in one bite."
"Just hearing that sounds terrifying," Broken said.
Ronan nodded. "We were lucky, though. The monster didn't actually attack us. I don't know... it felt like it was just warning us. Like it was telling us to turn back and abandon our expedition."
As Ronan spoke, he briefly outlined the journey they'd been on at the time. He and his crew often sought out uncharted waters, challenging themselves to explore areas that no one else in Yunatea had dared venture into.
The world of Yunatea was vast-so vast that even after years of exploration, entire regions of the ocean remained mysterious and untouched. There could be undiscovered islands teeming with hidden creatures, or ancient monsters lurking beneath the waves, waiting for an unsuspecting ship to stumble upon them.
Ronan continued, his tone lighter now. "One time, we found this island where every monster was level 250 or higher. That's part of why our levels are as high as they are now. We've gotten used to fighting some of the strongest monsters out there just to survive."
"That explains a lot," Broken murmured.
"Here, King," Ronan said, pulling out his map. "Let me show you where we ran into that Legendary-grade monster."
He pointed to a specific spot on the map, a seemingly random point far from any known landmass.
Broken leaned in, studying the location. "This... is way out in the middle of nowhere," he said.
"Exactly," Ronan replied. "There's no telling what else is out there. That's what makes it so exciting and so dangerous."
There was something about the location Ronan pointed to on the map that caught Broken's attention. His eyes narrowed as he examined the spot more carefully. It was the exact location SexyGrill had estimated as their next destination for the quest-the place where the Floating Island, the Vensalor Kingdom, was said to be hidden.
Broken froze for a moment, letting the pieces of information click together in his mind. Could there be a connection between the floating island and the Legendary-grade monster Ronan had encountered?
If they were planning to head to that location again, Broken realized, they'd have to be prepared for the possibility of facing that creature head-on.
A Legendary-grade, level 300 monster? It wasn't the first time he and his team had faced something seemingly insurmountable. They'd defeated a Demon above level 400 before, but that victory had been the result of an extraordinary set of circumstances-a collaboration of their best talents and strategies. Ivana in her dragon form. Alora wielding her Golden Paragon. The stars had aligned perfectly, but it wasn't a scenario they could easily replicate. And this time, it wouldn't be on familiar ground.
They'd be fighting in the middle of the ocean-its territory, where the monster held every advantage. Broken grimaced at the thought. On the ship, they'd have limited mobility and resources, forced to rely on Aego to hold its ground against an opponent that could likely crush it without breaking a sweat.
Damn it, he thought.
But despite the daunting odds, Broken couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through him. This was exactly the kind of high-stakes challenge that stirred his spirit-the kind of mission that made him push beyond his limits.
Later, Broken moved to the lounge area of the ship, enjoying a casual lunch while soaking in the lively atmosphere around him. The crew had started to dance and sing, their laughter and music filling the air, creating a celebratory mood on the deck.
The journey had gone incredibly smoothly-exactly as expected. But what made it even more remarkable was how well Aego performed. The golem ship navigated the ocean with minimal input, requiring only the destination to be set before automatically charting its course. It was a marvel of efficiency, allowing the crew to focus on other tasks without worrying about constant adjustments.
Even so, Ronan and Mizuki diligently monitored their surroundings, ensuring there were no unexpected disturbances. The strait connecting the two continents was considered relatively safe, populated mostly by level-100 monsters. These creatures lived deeper beneath the surface and weren't particularly aggressive unless provoked, making the route one of the calmer stretches of open water.
By late afternoon, the ship began to approach the port city on the West Continent. This was it. For the first time, Broken was about to set foot on another continent.
The West Continent was a land where most of the kingdoms were ruled by Beastkin, even though humans still made up the majority of the population. This unique dynamic became immediately apparent as the ship docked, with nearly half the workers at the harbor being Beastkin.
Broken leaned against the railing, observing the scene with quiet fascination. Beastkin of all kinds, in their half-human forms, bustled about-loading cargo, securing ropes, and directing traffic. Among them were children, their beast-like ears twitching and tails swaying as they ran around, playing without a care in the world.
A faint smile crossed his face as he took in the unique atmosphere.
Once they disembarked, the group began heading toward their designated inn, while some of the crew stayed behind to guard Aego. For this outing, Broken chose to wear his full helmet, concealing his identity entirely.
As they walked through the city, the sights only grew more fascinating. The streets were alive with activity, Beastkin mingling with humans in a way that felt natural but still strikingly different from what Broken was used to.
Even though Beastkin only made up about 30% of the population here, compared to the overwhelmingly human-dominated South Continent, the difference was stark.

The atmosphere in the grand stadium was electric. The stage in the center dominated the view, a colossal structure surrounded by roaring fans. Though the seats weren't yet completely full, the energy from the crowd was palpable as spectators filled the air with their cheers.
The day was perfect-clear skies and a cool breeze-a fitting backdrop for the opening of the Eternal Challenge competition. And to kick things off, the first contest, the Raid Race, was
about to begin.
Excitement surged through the arena as a team stepped onto the stage, the name "Destroyer" displayed boldly on the monitors overhead. The crowd erupted into cheers the moment they
recognized the players.
"London!"
"Heejin! Oh my god, she's so beautiful in person!"
"That's Melliandra! Damn, she looks exactly like her character in the game."
"King!"
"And... Charmelyn! Wait, what's her real name again? I didn't know she was this gorgeous in
real life!"
The noise grew louder, but amidst the excitement, murmurs of confusion began to ripple
through the audience.
"Wait... why are there only five of them on stage?"
"Shouldn't there be six?"
"Where's Broken? Isn't he supposed to be part of Team Destroyer?"
"Damn it, where is Broken? They're not seriously going to be beaten in the opening match,
are they?"
"They can't! Their opponents this round include two Divine Champions on the same team!"
"Yeah... the strongest team in the US."
What do you think?
