Chapter 761: Chapter 761 - The Bow of Envy
The camera focused on Broken, now soaring through the air atop his majestic flying fox. His spear was nocked onto his bow. It was a sight many had grown familiar with a moment that heralded chaos and destruction on a massive scale. Whenever Broken unleashed this signature move, devastation was inevitable, and every player on the ground knew it.
Above the arena, the virtual sky remained split open as the massive spear materialized, its radiant energy growing more intense with each passing second. The colossal weapon hovered ominously, ready to strike the earth below.
Players who realized the danger quickly scrambled into action. Panic set in as defensive buffs were cast in desperation, barriers shimmering into place to mitigate the impending damage. Others frantically sprinted away from the targeted area, hoping to escape the range of the devastating AoE attack.
Outside the arena, the audience was completely captivated, some cheering loudly while others watched in stunned silence. Anticipation filled the air as they braced themselves to witness just how much destruction Broken's signature skill would unleash.
"Paul, now tell me your opinion on this," Brando urged.
"Well," Paul began, "Broken has definitely arrived at the perfect time. However, he needs to be aware that his opponents won't just stand idly by while he charges up this attack. They're going to do everything in their power to interrupt him or minimize the damage."
From Broken's perspective, his presence in the match wasn't just a coincidence. He had intentionally logged into Immortal Legacy from his Northstar Homebus, parked near the
venue.
While he had been traveling across the West Continent, he found himself locked in combat with a swarm of high-level monsters. It wasn't until he received a notification about his team being in trouble that he decided to act. Using a rare item from the Trial Tower to exit Battle Mode, he logged out of the game, racing to reach the stage just in time to join the fight.
Now back in the game, Broken surveyed the situation. He noticed the other teams closing in on defeating the Raid Boss, the monster visibly close to being taken down. But that didn't matter to him. No way was he letting his team lose just because he arrived late.
From below, Mooz, still in his Armored Hawk form, streaked through the air at high speed, heading straight for Broken. It was obvious Mooz intended to stop the charging attack at all costs.
But Broken's expression didn't waver. Instead, a faint smile crossed his lips as he murmured softly, "Gaia, I think it's time for you to show off."
A glowing figure suddenly appeared beside Broken, floating effortlessly in the air. The presence immediately grabbed everyone's attention. The spirit, with her humanoid form, radiated a regal and powerful aura, her appearance so striking that murmurs erupted throughout the audience.
"Damn! Is that a spirit with a human form?"
"I wonder how strong that spirit is?"
"From what I know, spirits with humanoid forms are at least Legendary-grade!"
"Are you serious? You mean Broken has a spirit of that level, and possibly more like it?" "This guy... This is exactly why Broken is who he is!"
Gaia shot downward in a flash. Almost instantly, the grass across the arena floor began to writhe and grow uncontrollably, transforming into wild vines that lashed out at the players below. The vines coiled tightly around several players, binding them in place as they struggled to break free.
Even Mooz, in his Armored Hawk form, was caught in the spirit's control. Thick vines shot through the air, wrapping around his wings and claws, halting his advance. The once- dominant beast form now thrashed and flailed, unable to close the distance to Broken. The audience watched in awe, stunned by the sheer power of Gaia's crowd control abilities. "Is the spirit's control really this strong?!"
"How is this even fair? That's Legendary-grade, no doubt about it!"
High above, Broken smirked as he watched the chaos unfold.
"How bold of you to use Kingsley's skill against me," he said.@@novelbin@@
The charging sequence of Broken's spear attack was nearly complete. Mooz's movements grew more sluggish, his hawk form pinned in midair as if he had been singled out to become the primary target of the massive spear.
[bloodthorn]: "The way Mooz is struggling in those vines... he looks like a chicken wrapped in banana leaves before getting steamed!"
[Rurounitt]: "Venom watching this from the ground like: 'Maybe I'll just sit this one out, you know, reevaluate my life choices.""
[JungleDan]: "This whole scene is Broken saying: Why be humble when you can be right?" [bukli_ajrullai]: "Can we just give the spirit her own player slot? She's doing all the work out here."
[Tony_Faunce]: "Everyone: 'Broken is OP.' Broken: This? Oh, I'm just warming up."
[Logan_Schmittka]: "At this rate, Broken doesn't even need to throw the spear. Mooz is already halfway to rage-quitting."
Maylon and Euna, seated comfortably in the audience, couldn't help but discuss the intense scene unfolding in the arena.
"Can't Mooz just steal Broken's skill instead of trying to stop him?" Euna asked.
Maylon paused for a moment, considering her question before answering. "I think his ability is limited to stealing skills from players or maybe has specific requirements. And the skill Broken is casting now-it's from his bow, isn't it?"
"Yes," Euna replied. "That Legendary-grade bow allows Broken to use any weapon as an arrow, and it automatically casts the weapon's skills along with it."
Maylon nodded. "And it's also possible that Mooz's ability has a cooldown or other limitations. Whatever the case, it's clear Broken won't be stopped now, and Mooz's fate is already sealed."
Euna chuckled softly, a sly smile forming on her face. "This guy... He really loves making these dramatic last-minute entrances, doesn't he? I wonder if he has a manager somewhere telling him exactly when to show up and when to disappear."
She turned her gaze toward Maylon with a teasing look.
"What?" Maylon asked, narrowing his eyes at her.
"I think you're a lot like him. Always showing up at the last minute when things get
desperate," Euna said.
"Hah!" Maylon replied and leaned back in his chair. "I think it's just normal for cool people like us to make an entrance when it matters the most."
Just as Broken was about to release his charged arrow, the camera abruptly shifted to Nexthar -the player who had previously copied Melliandra's sniper rifle. Now, to everyone's shock, he was holding a bow identical to the one Broken was using.
The crowd gasped audibly, their disbelief echoing through the stadium.
"Paul! Your prediction just came true!" Brando shouted. "Nexthar has copied Broken's bow! How overpowered is this guy's ability when he can do something like this from such a distance, and make it look so easy?"
Paul smirked faintly. "It seems Nexthar's Envy Blessing is even more versatile than most of us
imagined."
On the screen, Nexthar began charging an attack using the Golden Bow of Artemis he had copied. But that wasn't all-he was using Melliandra's sniper rifle as the arrow. The crowd erupted in
shock and confusion.
"Wait! Is Nexthar really using two copied weapons at the same time?"
As the energy from the bow began to intensify, a swirling portal suddenly appeared behind Nexthar. From the portal, an ethereal figure emerged, wielding an even bigger version of Melliandra's sniper rifle. The spectral being aimed directly at Broken, who was still in midair preparing his attack.
The tension in the arena skyrocketed as the crowd watched the two devastatingly powerful attacks charge simultaneously, the battlefield bracing for a clash of titanic proportions.
What do you think?
