Chapter 786 - Enough to Beat Broken

The next day, as the Blacksmith Crafting Competition reached its final hours, Leon once again made his way to the stadium. As always, King was by his side, something Leon truly needed in events like this, where he had to deal with large crowds more often than he'd like. Because without King, he'd probably get stopped every five minutes by someone—either to chat, to ask him random questions, or just to bother him with completely pointless topics.

Some of the most absurd things people had asked him included:

"What does your Divine Champion ability actually do?"

"How much do you know about Ivana?"

"Do you think the High Elf Queen and Queen Alora ever fought in secret?"

"If you had to rank the top five most beautiful women in Yunatea, who would they be?"

"Are you secretly an NPC? No, seriously, answer honestly."

And honestly? It was exhausting.

So, as Leon took his seat in the participants' area, he was relieved to have King beside him as a natural barrier against unnecessary interactions.

The large screen displayed the remaining blacksmiths still working on their crafts. Only a handful remained, including two names he recognized—Titonor and Lanceshot, the only Expert Rank Blacksmith in the competition.

"They stayed until the very end too, huh?" Leon thought to himself.

King, sitting next to him, glanced at the screen and spoke. "No one else managed to craft a Unique-grade item after you left yesterday."

Leon nodded. "I think there's still a chance, though. The higher-ranked blacksmiths haven't finished their crafting yet."

"You'll easily win this competition, Leon," King said.

"If no one else can craft a Unique-grade item, then yes. Victory will be mine."

And then, exactly ten minutes later, another contestant finally finished their crafting. It was Titonor, a name Leon now recognized.

"What's the result?" King murmured.

Leon observed the aura that emerged as the crafting process completed. "Epic," he said.

"Nice… only one contestant left now," King replied. "And this one is actually well-known in the blacksmith community."

"The blacksmith community?" Leon raised an eyebrow.

King grinned at his reaction. "Yes… the blacksmith community. Pretty ironic that the highest-ranked blacksmith, the mightiest blacksmith in Immortal Legacy, isn't even part of it, isn't it?"

Leon turned toward King, unimpressed. "And what exactly do they do in that community?"

King shook his head with a small laugh. "I think it's like most similar communities… more of a place for people to flex their achievements rather than actually share valuable crafting techniques."

"I see… then I don't need it."

"You surely don't need it. I mean, your current responsibilities are already overflowing."

"Are you saying I'm not handling my responsibilities well?" Leon replied with a chuckle at King's comment.

King smirked. "It's expected, Leon. You've achieved too much, too fast—no one can blame you for that."

As always, King had a way of framing things in a way that justified Leon's actions, making it sound like everything was simply the way it was meant to be.

"That's why you built the guild, and even more beyond that," King continued. "With that, more people can step in and support you."

"You really think so?"

"Yes," King nodded slowly. "Especially now that your uncle's fiancée has joined us. She's been handling a lot of things in Slumdon Town, including bringing more people into the city."

"Ah…" Leon nodded, realizing how long it had been since he last returned to Slumdon Town.

He sighed at the thought.

If only he could move freely between Slumdon, the Capital, and his ongoing journey, none of this would be an issue. It only strengthened his resolve to secure another Moonlight Gate. If he could set up a golem to anchor the gate, then traveling between locations would be far easier.

He was also still eager to grow the Knights under his command, especially now that he had accumulated enough Reputation Points to make purchases in the Reputation Shop—which, he was certain, had items that could boost the potential of his Knights.

Too much to do. Too many things to plan.

"And what about… the mithril?" King suddenly brought up.

Leon processed the question for a moment, recalling the quest he had received from Fokil to find this mineral—essential for enhancing equipment even further.

At first, he had been told that the Forest Elves—Alora's kin—might have access to it. But after the war and his eventual conversation with Alora's uncle, who was also the leader of the Forest Elves, he finally learned the truth.

"No…" Leon answered. "They no longer have access to the material. And when they claimed they did and led me and Alora into that cave… it was just a trap to imprison us."

"Ah, so that's how it was," King nodded. "If you hadn't escaped back then, Dissidia Kingdom would probably be completely destroyed by now."

"Yeah… and the demons would have taken control, leading to who knows how much more chaos."

But there was still another lead. Zeno had mentioned that other Forest Elf tribes existed, scattered across different continents. And according to him, many of these tribes lived near deposits of mithril.

So if Leon could track down another Forest Elf tribe, he might finally be able to get his hands on that damn mithril.

And for some reason, he had a feeling that his next journey with Hazel, in search of the island of the Forest Elves of Vensalor Kingdom, would also lead him closer to this quest.

Wasn't this like hitting two birds with one stone?

If he found them, there was a chance he could also find mithril in their territory.

And maybe…

Would this journey also give him the opportunity to dive deep into the ocean and finally try to hatch that other egg he had been carrying all this time? Discover more stories at My Virtual Library Empire

[Legendary-grade Abyssal Naga Egg]

It was the egg he had obtained from the trial domain near Slumdon Town a long time ago. And yet, even now, Leon still hadn't figured out how to hatch it.

He had even tried submerging it in the ocean during his trip to the West Continent, channeling mana into the egg, but… nothing happened.

Just how deep and how wild did the ocean have to be for this egg to finally hatch?

He sighed. He had too many eggs waiting to be hatched.

And honestly, he hoped he wouldn't receive another egg as a reward anytime soon. Because really—what was the point of having something as valuable as a Legendary-grade egg if he couldn't do anything with it?

It just felt like a waste.

And just as Leon was lost in his thoughts, King suddenly tapped his arm.

"Leon, Lanceshot has finished his crafting."

Leon immediately lifted his gaze, turning toward the large screen.

Sure enough, Lanceshot had just completed his crafting, and unlike Leon's usual last-minute finishes, he had managed to wrap it up with time to spare.

But what made Leon pause for a brief moment wasn't the timing. It was the aura emanating from the blacksmith's finished product.

King, noticing Leon's reaction, leaned in slightly. "Leon, what's the grade of his item?"

Leon didn't need to guess. He knew exactly what it was—he had crafted plenty of items with the same grade before. And just as he was about to say it, the host's voice rang out from the big screen, making the official announcement.

"Lanceshot has successfully crafted a Unique-grade item!"
