Chapter 313 Clay oven (1)
Lucas talked one-on-one with almost everyone.
Elena was going to get pointers for her taming skills while also perfecting her healing skills, while he trained Sandra.
Barney was told to just fix anything he could find. There was nothing more to his skill until it could level up a lot more. However, Lucas advised him not to let the skill itself do everything but to understand how it fixed things.
Haley was doing everything right with her cooking skills, and her inventory skill was the best when it came to exploration and travel. But it was wasted on her since Haley did not want to leave the territory much.
Mike was going to be given lessons in construction and how to use his skills even better.
Jerry, on the other hand, would only spar with Lucas and learn some tactics as both a tank and an attacker.
He left John without any advice, even though John asked for it many times. Lucas had decided to observe John's skill from the sidelines before teaching him anything.
John was in the position of Administrator. He had to take care of the territory just as much as Lucas did.
The only thing Lucas was going to teach John was leatherwork.
Sarah was told to train her fireball skills in order to use the fire element more diversely, while also training her summoning skills.
Phil was going to be given knowledge of farming, including the fantasy aspects of it.
After Lucas was done talking with everyone, he went and inspected the whole shelter one more time before heading inside his crude workshop.
From there on, the main planning began. He made a layout of the shelter on a slate and made adjustments to it.
Lucas changed almost everything, and when he was done, the shelter was nothing like it had been before.
He looked outside the workshop and realized he was the only one there.
'There's so much to do that I'm having a hard time deciding where to start,' he thought, glancing at his workshop.
There was coziness in it, but other than that, Lucas hated every part of it.
'I have to start with the basics. First comes tools. I need to make crude ones first, and then use them to make some basic tools.' Lucas created a roadmap in his mind, and without wasting any time, he got up and went outside the shelter to the storage.
The storage was filled with materials of many types, so much so that Lucas could look at it as a treasure—if only they weren't low-tier or worse.
In the right corner, he found all the herbs. After inspecting them, he couldn't help but frown.
'They're so bad, such barbaric methods of extracting herbs.' Lucas felt almost disgusted.
He flipped his hand around the herbs once but paused to reflect on his actions. It was an old habit, and when he saw that his storage spaces were no longer with him, Lucas couldn't help but chuckle.
He left the inferior herbs on the shelf and inspected the skinned hides of the monsters.
"Hm," Lucas nodded in approval. They were of very good quality, almost as if a skilled skinner had done the work.
Then Lucas reached another pile of hides. He dismissed them, just like the inferior herbs—they were skinned very poorly.
'I don't see any of the main organs from the monsters, which means they haven't found a way to preserve them. I might have to look into that soon.'
Lucas quickly deduced what he would need to help the group preserve the best ingredients for alchemy.
He looked at the list of creatures inside his territory at the moment.
The list was long, but the best part was that it could be sorted alphabetically. Lucas looked under 'S' and didn't find what he was looking for, disappointing him.
'Slimes are the most basic organisms you can find in a forest. They generate out of almost any terrain and environment, so there should be an abundance of forest slimes in my territory… So why aren't there any?'
There could be a possibility that they didn't exist in this dimension of the Plains of Aemerion, but that didn't make sense. Everything Lucas could see in the quest world, he was now seeing many of them here.
Even the monsters—many had familiar names, while there were others Lucas didn't know, which only made him more excited.
He refrained from thinking about it further. For now, the things he already had mattered.
Next, he inspected the nails, teeth, and some other strange items in a clean pile. Lucas deemed them 'usable.'
'I shouldn't compare everything to what I once used. It might be a few years before this place has creatures of that level, or before the people here are advanced enough to use them...'
Lucas made a mental note of all the items in the storage.
The last thing was a tub of blood.
'Wait, why are they keeping blood like this? Pfft...' Lucas couldn't hold back his laughter. Keeping blood in a tub was something he didn't remember seeing before.
'Blood clots so quickly, there's no point in keeping it here unless I make some specialized containers.' He grabbed the tub of blood and headed outside.
'The only thing left to do in the storage is inspect the runes or mechanisms keeping it cold.'
"Wait, Lucas, where are you taking that?" Sean opened the main gate before Lucas could reach it.
"It's pointless to keep blood in these containers. I'll use a primitive technique to preserve it before I can make a permanent solution."
"My dad already tried that. The blood doesn't last more than a few weeks at best." Experience more tales on My Virtual Library Empire
"Oh? What did he do?" Lucas asked with curiosity.
"He used salt and used a lot of it,"
"Ah, that can be a good option. But I will go for something else." Lucas said and went outside the gate.@@novelbin@@
"What other thing?" Sean asked and started following Lucas back.
What do you think?
