FTWOOSH, SPLAT THUD

Three sounds followed the confident Bang spoken by Aoni; one was the sound of the Ice Bullet traveling through the air, another was the splattering noise emitted by the Wolf as its head popped like a watermelon, and lastly, its body hitting the ground.
"GAOOOOO~!" *It was MY FOODS!*
Shooting an aggrieved look at her Lord, Glacia plopped her furry butt right back down on the wall and turned her head away from Aoni in protest.
"Glacia, there are literally thousands of those guys roaming around, and this one was just a weak 1-Star…"
"OoO HMPH GAO!" *Food is Food, food stealer,*
"Chee…" gently tugging at the Lad's pants with her beak, Nyria translated
'She called you a food stealer…'@@novelbin@@
"Yeah, I figured, well, If there's one Wolf, there will be a whole pack of em', so everyone back to your positions, we have a long couple of….and she's gone," smacking his lips and looking side to side, Aoni sighed, and sat down on the edge of the wall with his legs hanging off.
The moment his floof heard back to their positions and more monsters, there was zero chance she'd bother waiting up to hear more and took off on her own, leaving Aoni and Nyria sighing on the wall.
"That goober, what are we gonna do with your sister,"
"Click,"
'Punish? No shovel?' With a click of her beak, Nyria Chimed in, hopping onto the edge beside her Lord and watching Glacia move out and down the mountain.
"I mean, look around; there's no snow cause of the pressure, so she's already gonna be pouty because of that; we need to come up with something better." Scratching his cheek, Aoni took out a piece of bacon from his Inventory and fed it to his birb before getting up and doing a couple of stretches.
"I'll figure something out, but we have to remember she's just a baby, so it's hard to actually discipline her, especially when she doesn't really care about anything other than food."
"Clack…chee,"
'I think food even outranks us…right?' Blinking and tapping her talons on the Rampart's stone, Nyria could see her big sister falling for some silly trap so long as she got a snack out of it.

"Right, Foods in 1st place, me and you second, then maybe her bed or that stick; anyway, off you go, little fledgling; there are sure to be a few monsters that may give you a tough time in a fair fight, but overall, you have nothing to fear. Just fly up high enough or call out to me, and both Glacia and I will be right there to aid you." Bending over slightly and patting Nyria's head, Aoni watched as she, too, jumped off the wall before spreading her wings and soaring into the sky.
'Now that they're off doing their thing, I should probably get in some combat experience as well.' With that thought in mind, the Lad spun around, climbed down into the camp, and set up the Rampart's effects, dumping over 300 Energia Crystals into the small control box and powering it up.
Seconds later, a thin elastic membrane covered the entirety of the inner part of the Rampart, sealing off the camp from the outside world and giving Aoni some peace of mind, given the fact he was about to leave the safety of the wall to hunt for real.
Since the Rampart's effects were instant, Aoni didn't bother waiting around and, after climbing the makeshift stone stairs, jumped off the wall and outside of the camp.
The instant his feet touched the ground, the Lad's left hand reached into the opening Inventory, grabbed Vestr, then shifted the location of his pocket dimension to his right side and drew Austr out, the entire process taking less than a fraction of a second to complete.
His being this fast at drawing… definitely had nothing to do with how he'd had spent an embarrassing amount of time practicing this very action…over…and over…for hours on end.
Nodding his head and feeling he looked quite cool with his weapons drawn, Aoni ran toward the dead Wolf, examined it, and after poking around for a few seconds, located its EC before tossing it into his Inventory for safekeeping.
'Note to self, be careful popping heads; with my ice bullet, the outward explosion displaces the Energia Cell; for crying out loud, the damn thing shot into its neck,' swiping at the air a few times to get a feel for his blades, Aoni took off down the mountain, his objective, the Cavern.
With Nyria and Glacia taking care of things on the mountainside, he didn't have much to worry about, especially since the two of them had their own unique means of communication.
If Glacia got into any trouble, she'd, of course, call in an airstrike, and vice versa.
'It's a good thing nothing stronger than 2-Star will be lurking around, especially since both of them are at the Peak of their Grade. Even so, I can't help but feel kinda nervous…' Working off of memory alone since the terrain looked completely different without snow, it took Aoni a few minutes, even running at his top speed, to locate the entrance to the Cavern.
Surprisingly enough, it looked just like any other cave; nothing spectacular about it, only during normal times, it would, you know, be buried under several feet of snow.
Although it took a bit longer than he would have liked to reach the usual entrance to the Cavern thanks to a cluster of wolves showing up, Aoni nodded more to hype himself up than as a sign to anyone in particular and slowly made his way into the tunnel.
Unfortunately, that was where the calm day he'd been having till now came to an end because within two or three minutes of sneaking in, he could hear way too much noise, and most of it was coming from around the lake in the center of the Cavern.
Keeping low to the ground and making sure to eliminate any unsuspecting monsters he came upon along the way, the Lad found a suitable stalagmite to duck behind while observing the situation down below the top floor.
What do you think?
