Chapter 212: Operation Set Up Cavern (10)

After doing his best to explain how plants draw in carbon dioxide and create Oxygen in simple terms to his birb, Aoni eventually got his point across and moved on to other topics.

Reaching into his inventory and withdrawing his handy dandy notebook plus pencil, he spent some time with Nyria while drawing out several different replicas of the cavern's empty floor plan.

Since he had spent quite a bit of time walking the area and memorizing most, if not all, of the twists and turns, each of the 10 different pictures was basically the same, with only a few mistakes here and there, but that wasn't the point.

No, instead, the point of these images was to lay everything out in a manner that would allow for future growth beyond being a mere Village.

Although he would like to aim for the stars when transforming this cavern into his new home, the truth was that Aoni knew that it would be impossible to grow it beyond that of a small town, the fourth stage of growth for City Building.

There simply wasn't enough space to make anything bigger.

Regardless of this fact, that didn't stop him from wanting to consider this space as his true home or maybe one day the Palace space of a kingdom…Scratch that; Aoni just wants to live a carefree life with his summons; doing something as daunting as becoming a king or, worse, Emperor was too big a chore for his small brain.

Getting strong, going on adventures, and sharing them with his loved ones —that was Aoni's goal in life, well, that and creating a place where he wouldn't have to worry about the overbearing nature of his country's government.

Sure, there were no doubt going to be millions of different hurdles he'd have to overcome, but hey, he'll get to that bridge when he gets there.

---

"Hmmmm," chewing on the end of the pencil, Aoni scribbled in a small box on the fourth design, labeling it "Farming land" before showing the finished product to Nyria.

"What do you think about this one?" He asked while his birb leaned forward and took in the horrible rendition.

{'It looks better, but brother, why does it all look so…messy? Compared to our cave, it's all jumbly and out of order.'} She asked sweetly, causing Aoni to stiffen like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

"Cough, well, Nyria, you need to understand that there's going to be a lot of open space because I am leaving room for future growth."

"Unlike the Fort, where everything is cramped, and I had to work with what I had, this space is much, MUCH, bigger. Plus, up there, we didn't have the same issues like getting food or water as we will down here."

{'The village stuffs?'}

"Yep, the village stuffs; the whole point of me setting things up down here isn't only to make a safe place for us where we don't have to worry about enemies attacking, but instead a place where any new friends I summon can live together safely." Tapping her beak tenderly with a smile, Aoni continued.

"Just think about it this way: what happens if I start summoning a bunch more new friends and we only have our tiny little cave house to live in? Where is everyone else gonna stay?"

Putting things in this manner really got the gears turning in Nyria's mind, and within a few minutes, she kind of understood what he meant.

{'I could share my nest with one other little sibling, but if we get more, it won't be good…'} Nodding her head, Nyria added.

"Exactly, at least this way, everyone will have their own house, and if our other family who lives where I went through the flume comes to visit, we gotta have a place for them to sleep too."

Just imagining Clara trying to stay in the same room as he sent a shiver down Aoni's spine.

'Nope, nope, NEVER EVER, ain't no way in hell we are sharing a room ever again! She's gonna get a house of her own, and that's that. She has worse sleep habits than even Glacia, and that's saying something!'

Thinking back to all the family trips, primarily the camping ones, where he was stuck sharing a tent with Clara, fear struck Aoni because those mornings, he normally woke up with a foot in the face and covered in bruises because his older sister likes to kick and throw punches in her sleep.

{'OHH Big Sisters and Brothers, and Brother's Mama and Brother's Papa! Are they Coming to visit Too?'} Clicking her beak and flapping her wings excitedly, Nyria was really hoping Aoni would say they could come for a visit.

"Well, I don't think Mom or some of my siblings can come for a visit…" Not wanting to get her hopes up when it came to the Mundanes of the Thurston family, Aoni quickly appeased his birb.

"But Dad, Clara, Ant, and Char, they should all be stopping by to meet you and Glacia at some point."

One of the first things Aoni had done upon returning to Genovia was telling his summons all about his family back on Terra. After some amusing stories, the floof and birb couldn't wait to meet his family.

For Nyria, she was excited most about Clara…for some ungodly reason that Aoni couldn't even begin to fathom; meanwhile, Glacia didn't really seem to care who came to visit so long as she got to meet new people.

'Pleassssse, don't let Clara teach my sweet little birb any bad habits, or so help me, I will lock her in a closet for a year.'

---

Far away from Aoni's mountain, in a giant city surrounded by a forest the size of his entire home country, a certain young lady with a pixie-style haircut was in the middle of an important business meeting when she suddenly sneezed violently. Not once, not twice, but three times in a row.

'Huh? What the heck was that all about,' wiping her nose with her forearm in a very unladylike manner, Clara thought while ignoring the reaction of the people sitting around the massive conference table.

'Meh, must be my sweet little baby brother talking about me, hehe, I can't wait to see him and meet his adorable cutie summons; AHH, I wonder if I should bring one of mine with…hm…'
