Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!

Chapter 93 This Was A Bad Idea!

Still, what truly separated Aoni from the rest of his peers, or those who came before him, was the existence of his Attribute and, by proxy, Progress Points.

If earning a passive meant obtaining enough theory and experience, then increasing the rank of said passive, which would normally take a lifetime to see significant gains, would be a metaphorical mouse click away.

Through this mechanism, not only could he do the unthinkable, rapidly increasing his proficiency with them, but he could theoretically master multiple passives, turning him into a Jack Of All Trades, yet master of All.

Provided he could actually obtain enough points to do so, in the event he couldn't, well, wouldn't he merely be dipping his fingers into too many pots?

The answer is yes. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire

And he knew this fact, which is precisely why, as Aoni lay on the ground in the fetal position, trying his best not to spew out the meat he'd eaten for dinner, he couldn't help but stare intently at his Traveler's Display.

'If I had more time, I could consider spending days training my Manipulation and getting used to it. Well, getting used to the feeling at the very least.'

'Techniques don't come naturally and generally take a lot of training to get them on the level they can be useful in combat or even daily life, but I only have two weeks before shit hits the fan.' Sitting up and releasing a pained groan, Aoni crossed his legs and propped himself on his knees.

'The way I see it, there are multiple ways for me to get stronger fast, some are more optimal than others, but the main ones are, raising my Energia Manipulation, Increasing my stats, …' looking off in the distance, the Lad could faintly hear a series of Gaos and Chees, causing his face to twitch slightly.

'Or I can run the gambit and burn my points into summoning more potential subordinates. There is also the proven Turtle Strategy; if I can create a dome or some kind of covering that blocks off the mountain peak, I should be able to upgrade it to a level that can sustain high-level attacks or invasions.' When he got to that last point, Aoni gritted his teeth and pounded his fists on his thighs.

'Fuck, that last one has too many factors working against me; for starters, I don't have a single fucking clue about the surrounding lifeforms, and it's entirely BECAUSE I am too weak to survive outside of my territory.'

'Sure, by increasing my Elementalized Energia to 10% Ice, I have a better shot, especially since both my resistances have reached F-Rank, but do I really want to risk getting stuck down the mountain in another avalanche scenario.' Unballing his fists, Aoni sighed and leaned back on his arms while looking out to the horizon.

'Less than 16 days remain until my barrier comes down, and my checklist is totally fucked right now. My Attribute is a double-edged sword of sorts; if I want to get stronger, I need to spend points, but to earn them, my attention is entirely shifted in the opposite direction of what it should be, and I end up wrapped up in multiple projects.'

'Hm, I suppose there's always that,' finally noticing the rapidly flashing and disappearing notifications in the corner of his vision, Aoni smirked because, after several days of it happening, the Lad had understood his actions weren't actually generating them, and instead, it was being done by Glacia.

If the first two-thirds of the reason Aoni gave into the whims of his floof were to burn energy and that it made her happy to use the shovel, the other 1/3rd of the reason he allowed Glacia to have her "play time" after each meal was because he'd come to realize that in doing so, she would generate a minute amount of points through the action of clearing the snow.

However, before this current session, she was only bringing in 0.01 points, but now…

'So it seems that works, with Nyria along for the ride, for one reason or another, she is effectively doubling the income generated by Glacia,' nodding his head and finding it to be an acceptable explanation, Aoni turned his attention back toward his current issue.

'Something's got to give; I for sure can't quit building and doing things around the camp cold turkey; that's a surefire way to end up stalling out, and if I were to do more summoning, I'd need a lot more points, so for now, my only option is…' chewing on his bottom lip, Aoni reluctantly spoke out the command to upgrade his Energia Manipulation.@@novelbin@@

Knowing full well that he was more than likely about to puke everywhere, if not from the headache brought on due to the influx of knowledge than the forceful circulation and adaptation of Energia.

"URRPP! FUCK!" Feeling as if he had been kicked in both the nuts and his chest simultaneously, Aoni grunted loudly before doubling over and resisting the intense urge to throw up.

Yet the nausea wasn't even the worst part; not only was his brain pounding, but his body began heating up as the counterforce he felt when using Energia for the first time flickered throughout his body as if someone were hitting the light switch at an unseen speed.

'AGAIN,' Even through all that, the instant the effect of his upgrade wore off, he didn't bother attempting to consolidate the gains or even pay attention to his expenditure; no, instead, the Lad's recklessness reared its ugly head, as he pushed onward, from G to G+.

This time…things got messy.

"BLARG, THIS, URRRPP, WAS GAKK A BAD IDEEA HOOOOAHH!" Spitting up a few mouths of saliva was only a precursor to the main event, as bile and chunks of meat jetted out of Aoni's mouth and nose, staining the ground in front of the cave and even hitting the campfire.
