Chapter 1083: Chapter 1082: So This Is Mrs. Gu (1)

Gu Shaoting drove to a well-known Western restaurant in Bin City.

“Aren’t we going home for dinner?” Shu Pan asked.

“No, today is just for the two of us.” Gu Shaoting had already informed Auntie Li, as it had been a long time since they had spent quality time together.

Tonight, he did not want to be disturbed by anyone else.

Shu Pan had no objections and accepted his arrangement.

Gu Shaoting took her hand as they walked into the restaurant, heading straight for a table by the window.

...

Soon, they ordered steak, borscht, salad, and spaghetti.

While waiting for their meal, Gu Shaoting casually asked, “Panpan, how is your current job? Have you considered coming back to Gu Group?”

Shu Pan glanced at him and then said, “No, I’m happy with my current company, and I don’t want to see you every day.”

The speaker might not have meant it, but the listener took it to heart.

Upon hearing this, Gu Shaoting immediately became agitated and said, “What? Are you annoyed with me?”

Shu Pan looked at him seriously and then said, “Hmm, a little.”

Gu Shaoting’s eyebrows furrowed deeply into the character “川”.

“What do you mean?” he asked, holding onto Shu Pan’s hand.

“You’re hurting my hand.” Shu Pan glared at him, and he immediately let go.

“Panpan, don’t you care about me anymore?” Gu Shaoting said, sounding a bit hurt, his gaze full of sorrow as he looked at Shu Pan.

“I’m still the same, nothing has changed,” Shu Pan said indifferently.

At that moment, their food arrived, and Shu Pan, who was hungry, could no longer care about anything else and began eating.

While Shu Pan was enjoying her meal, Gu Shaoting had no appetite at all. His mind kept going back to what he had seen in the afternoon and the words Shu Pan had just said.

Could Shu Pan actually be falling out of love? He knew he had neglected her recently, but he knew Shu Pan was not one to be fickle. However, given the many temptations in today’s society and some men’s skill at sweet-talking women, he felt he needed to remain vigilant.

Xia Xiaoqiao and her bestie rarely had meals out together, but today, since Mr. Gu had left early, she could leave early too.

They had decided to dine at a Western restaurant. Even though they might feel hungry for a week after a single meal, indulging in a little bourgeois lifestyle occasionally was quite enjoyable.

The Western restaurant they chose was quite famous in Bin City, and naturally, the prices were beautifully steep.

They ordered steak and a fruit salad.

“Xiao Qiao, how can you be so generous? Any happy news?” Fang Min, Xiao Qiao’s bestie, asked.

“Of course, there’s great news – I finally got rid of Zhang Hong,” Xia Xiaoqiao said happily.

“Your boyfriend?” Fang Min repeated uncertainly.

“Wrong, now only to be referred to as my ex-boyfriend, please mind your words,” Xia Xiaoqiao corrected seriously.

“Oh, isn’t it the same thing? Come on, satisfy my curiosity.” Fang Min urged her on.

“Well, we broke up. What’s there to cling to with a man who is idle and irresponsible? You only feel the damage when there’s something to compare. I’ve got a new target now.” Xia Xiaoqiao declared. She had never been a rich heiress; she had worked part-time during her studies, and just when she was starting to build a promising career, she suddenly found herself despising her boyfriend.

She had met Zhang Hong through a job after entering the workforce. Initially, he was quite diligent at his job, and they both planned to work hard together, save money, buy a house, and settle down. However, after Zhang Hong’s company went bankrupt, he struggled in several jobs and began to give up on himself.
