Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 296 Too Much For Me

Atlas told Raymond to land on a nearby mountain ledge before sending him back to the Otherworld as he sat down. He looked out over the quiet landscape, only to see a beautiful purple glow.

''Amethyst,'' he muttered as the phoenix woman crashed down just behind him.

She quickly returned to her humanoid form and rushing to give him a hug as she spoke in a heartbroken voice, ''You have a place, it's with us.''

Atlas smiled when hearing this and tightened his hug on the beautiful young woman he had met years ago. Before he could speak, Amethyst confessed, ''I love you, Atlas, please don't feel bad about your past. You now have a future and people who care about.''

Just then, an icy shiver ran down Atlas's spine, the hairs on his neck bristling with alarm. Without hesitation, he twisted to the side, clutching Amethyst tightly in his arms, narrowly evading a flurry of deadly strikes from the shadowy Night Owls.

Blades hissed through the air, but some found their mark, slicing into him. Atlas gritted his teeth, the pain fueling his resolve rather than weakening it. 'Fuck that hurt!' he thought while watching his blood hit the ground.

His azure eyes blazed with fury as he drew his twin blades in one fluid motion, their gleaming edges catching the faint moonlight. With a feral roar, he launched himself forward, a whirlwind of chaos.

Atlas's first strike collided with an assailant's weapon, the clash igniting a shower of fiery sparks that lit the night like a fleeting starburst. The man staggered under his relentless assault, struggling to counter the sheer force of his blows.

But he was far from finished. His blades became a blur, each swing a arc of destruction as he tore into the ranks of his enemies. The night erupted in a symphony of clashing steel, a battle song that echoed through the darkness.

Suddenly, a piercing scream split the chaos, Amethyst's voice raw and powerful. The air trembled as her fury unleashed itself in an explosion of violet flames. The fire surged like a living beast, engulfing the remaining Night Owls in its scorching embrace.

Atlas tightened his grip on his blades, the steel humming with restrained power after he cast Void infusion on them as he cleared some enemies that were bugging him. ''They never learn, do they?'' he muttered.@@novelbin@@

The beautiful young woman smirked, her violet eyes glowing like stars in the sky. ''More for the pyre, my love,'' she said, raising her hand.

Purple flames erupted around her fingers, twisting and dancing, illuminating the battlefield. Seconds later, The Night Owls surged forward, their battle cries splitting the air. The ground trembled beneath their charge.

''Let's go Amethyst and show the empire what we can do!'' he exclaimed.

Following that, he burst into motion like a coiled spring released, meeting the first wave head-on. His blades whirled like twin hurricanes, striking with the speed of lightning and the precision of a master.

One attacker lunged at him, swinging a curved blade at for his throat. Atlas parried effortlessly, spinning to his left and driving his blade through the man's chest in a single fluid motion.

Without pause, he swept his other sword upward, slicing through the second enemy's defenses. Sparks flew as weapons clashed, lighting the darkness like fireworks, but he continued attacking.

Meanwhile, Amethyst faced her own onslaught. A wall of enemies charged her, but she stood her ground with a whisper, her flames coiled around her like a living serpent. She raised her arms, and with a sharp cry, unleashed a torrent of violet fire.

The purple flames roared forward, consuming the front line of attackers in a blistering inferno. Screams echoed as the heat warped the air, and the Night Owls fell back, some writhing, others incinerated where they stood.

Atlas dodged a strike from behind, spinning low and slicing through the legs of his attacker. He leaped to his feet just as another enemy rushed him. Without missing a beat, he hurled one of his swords, the blade spinning until it embedded itself in the man's chest.

He caught a falling weapon in mid-air as it slipped from the dying enemy's grip and used it to deflect another strike. His movements were seamless, every action a brutal masterpiece of combat.

''Atlas, behind you!'' Amethyst called out, sending a stream of fire over his shoulder. Discover more stories at My Virtual Library Empire

It engulfed a group of enemies sneaking up on him, their forms reduced to ash in moments. Atlas flashed her a grin, his face streaked with sweat and blood. ''Thanks, beautiful!'' he shouted, twisting back to deliver a devastating horizontal slash that killed two more foes.

But the Night Owls kept coming. Amethyst gritted her teeth, her energy flaring. With a roar, she slammed her fists together, sending a pulse of fire outward in all directions. The ground cracked beneath her.

An expanding ring of flames tore through the enemy ranks, scattering their formations and leaving a scorched wasteland in its wake. As the surviving Night Owls regrouped for a final push, Atlas stepped forward, his body vibrating with raw power.

Amethyst stood beside him, her flames now a blazing aura that crowned her like a queen of destruction. Together, they charged. Atlas moved like a storm, his blades carving through the enemy, while Amethyst's fire consumed any who dared to approach her.

They were an unstoppable force, a harmony of steel and flame, precision and chaos. The battlefield bore witness to their unrelenting might, but when more Night Owls emerged from the shadows, his demeanor shifted.

He sheathed his blades, his eyes burning with powers which made everyone back off, even Amethyst. A crackling aura enveloped his fists, mana surging and pulsing like lightning. The surrounding air grew heavy, vibrating with the sheer force of his power.

Atlas clenched his glowing fists, the mana swirling brighter with each passing moment. ''No more games,'' he growled.

He charged into the fray, each punch detonating like thunder against the Night Owls. Every strike landed with devastation, erupting in shockwaves that exterminated his enemies with ease.

The overwhelming force hurled bodies through the air like rag dolls, which shocked Amethyst as she watched her lover shattering their armor. The ground trembled beneath his assault, craters forming where his fists connected.

She stood frozen for a moment, her flames flickering as she watched in awe. Her breath hitched, and a whisper escaped her lips, ''So powerful… His mana… it's shining!''

Her voice quivered, a mixture of disbelief and admiration. Even amidst the chaos, the radiant glow of Atlas's mana cut through the darkness, a beacon of raw strength that seemed almost otherworldly.

'His just like the stories Mother used to tell me,' she thought as her purple eyes sparkled with love.

He continued his rampage as the Night Owls, once confident in their overwhelming numbers, were now reduced to nothing. Atlas was a living storm, his fists carving a path of devastation that left no room for resistance.

Amethyst snapped out of her daze as she ignited her flames once more, a wicked smile curling on her lips. If Atlas was in the storm, she would be the inferno to consume what he left behind.

Together, they pressed forward, an unstoppable duo, their enemies falling like leaves before a hurricane. The two of them continued fighting the Achaemenids, who were falling so fast that their comrades panicked.

Atlas took advantage of this and summoned the other girls, who sent him a message from the Otherworld. Nulia and Lilith rushed out in their monster forms. The two women tore into the remaining enemies.

Mana bolts flew out and took out some of the Night Owls above, causing Atlas to spot Artemis, followed by Estelle, Zena, and Grishna. With ease, the four women killed the remaining enemies, demoralized as they were.

Following that, Atlas turned to them with a smile before speaking in a guilt laced voice, ''I'm sorry for rushing off like that, girls. I just found out that my family was murdered and it was too much for me.''

When they heard this, frowns appeared on their beautiful faces, but Estelle stepped forward and hugged him. The blonde shoved his head into her cleavage while stroking his white hair, which made him relax.

''We all care for you in our own ways handsome,'' her soft voice reached his ears. ''I'm sorry for your loss, but just know I'm always here for you.''

Atlas was about to speak, but soon Artemis appeared when Estelle let go so the brunette could hug him. She squeezed him while speaking. ''Sorry about your family, Alt, but without that we would of never met.''

''I agreed,'' he replied before kissing the beautiful young woman on her forehead.

Next was the beautiful Grishna, who peppered his face with kisses, which made everyone laugh. Nulia and Zena were more reserved but still hugged, but it was Lilith who jumped on him in excitement.
