Limitless Summoner: Rise of the Soul God

Chapter 100 Go!

Ethan's blood ran cold as his senses sharpened. His wrists were bound tightly with a rough rope, the fibers digging into his skin. He kept his breathing even, pretending to still be unconscious.

The man's gruff voice echoed in the chamber as he tossed Lia onto the damp floor beside him. "Fucking pain in my ass," He muttered, wiping sweat from his brow. "Gonna make sure you two fetch me a good price." He turned away, pulling out a flask and taking a swig.

That man wasn't too worried about them. Ethan's gut feeling told him that this was probably the only advantage they were going to have. He waited as he heard the footsteps leave the tunnel.

"Fucking hell. They are not paying me enough to stand in this stench." The man grumbled as he walked out. Ethan still kept his eyes closed. He wanted to wait and make sure that the coast was clear just in case the man decided to come back immediately.

His caution paid off as the man indeed came back but this time around, he had company. "Please, Sir Hansen. I have a betrothed. I cannot betray him." A woman's voice, desperate yet firm, echoed through the chamber.

The man named Hansen let out a crude laugh. "Betrothed? Come on, beautiful. One roll in the dirty hay. No one needs to know about it. Come on, I will make you feel good. All my women are well taken care of. Don't you know who I am?"

"Sir Hansen… Sir Hansen…" The woman seemed reluctant but things continued to progress anyway. "See? That's a good girl. No need to struggle. I can be real generous, you know." Hansen chuckled and all sorts of sounds started coming out.

That was the moment Ethan snapped his eyes open.

In front of him, the two of them were going at it, Hansen's dick deep in the woman. Ethan knew this was his chance. He took one look around the dimly lit tunnel finding only Lia beside him, also tied to the wall just like he was.

No one else was there. Judging from the way Hansen was hanging around waiting, it was clear that someone else or maybe even more than one person was coming over to join them and Ethan did not want to be here when they arrived.

His mana surged and the next moment, he summoned his wolves. At the same time, he released the mana bolt, aimed at his own hands. The rope tore apart with a snap, the fibers sizzling from the concentrated burst of energy.

Ethan didn't waste a second—his wolves lunged at Hansen before the man could react. He couldn't comprehend how so many beasts surrounded him without any warning. A startled grunt left Hansen's lips as he turned, but he was far too slow.

The first wolf's fangs sank deep into Hansen's forearm, ripping a chunk of flesh free. He let out a bloodcurdling scream, stumbling back. Blood splattered the damp stone floor as the second wolf snapped at his legs, tearing through leather and muscle with brutal efficiency.@@novelbin@@

Ethan ignored Hansen's agonized howls, quickly scrambling to Lia's side. His fingers, still tingling from the mana discharge, worked fast to untie her bindings. She was groggy.

"Master?" Her voice was hoarse.

"No time to talk," Ethan said, grabbing her hand and pulling her to her feet. "We need to go—now."

He could tell that the man in front of them wasn't exactly low-leveled. He could deal with the wolves in a couple of minutes. They needed to get out of here now. Otherwise, there was no telling what might happen.

Ethan quickly summoned his demons to slow down the man further. He then jumped onto a wolf. Granted, he had never considered riding a wolf before this moment but right now it seemed like a good idea.

Desperate times called for desperate measures. He yanked Lia up onto the wolf behind him, gripping the thick fur tightly as the beast growled, its body tensing beneath him.

"Go!" Ethan commanded, and the wolf obeyed instantly, surging forward down the dark, narrow tunnel.

Behind them, Hansen roared in pain and fury. "You fucking bastard! You think you can escape?!" His voice echoed through the cavern.

Ethan chanced a glance back—his demons had slowed Hansen, their clawed hands ripping into his flesh, but it wouldn't last long. He was stronger than he looked. The fact that he hadn't expected demons to pop up helped. However, nothing was going to last.

Thankfully, the wolves weren't lacking speed either. They picked up the pace obeying his order and the tunnel walls blurred past them, the air thick with the damp stench of rot and blood.

"Where are we going?" she called over the wind rushing past them.

"Up and out!" Ethan shouted back. "I don't care where—just as far away from here as possible!" They were out of the tunnel in an instant and the wolves kept going.

The forests around the village were pretty tame this close to the city and the beasts weren't much of a threat to someone at Ethan's level. However, they couldn't afford to slow down.

Hansen was a problem, but the bigger issue was who he was working for. Someone with enough power to run an underground slave operation without the city cracking down on them and that too, this close to the city.

Ethan didn't stop urging the wolves forward until they reached a dense patch of trees, deep in the forest, far enough that he could no longer see the entrance of the tunnel. They had almost reached the city now.

If he arrived at the city outskirts riding on wolves, he might as well carry a sign saying 'I am the culprit' so he immediately ordered the wolves to stop. He slid off the wolf, breathing heavily, and turned to help Lia down.

"Fuck. what the hell was that?" Ethan groaned. He had only now escaped one complication and gotten out of Rotherhollow. Did he immediately have to run into another? What the hell were they supposed to do now?

Snapping him out of his thoughts, he heard a set of footsteps behind them. "Impossible!" Ethan immediately swung around, mana already crackling in his fingers.
