Limitless The Strongest Revenant

Chapter 982 982: a lot more [1/2]

"So stand firm, my love. The world still needs a hero to save it. And no matter what happens, you will not be alone—for I will be right there beside you."

"…"

My heart grew full from Liv's love and affection. No matter how fake my beginning was. Meeting, Liv. Working through our issues, fighting by her side, and falling madly in love with her. Was all me.

Her words rang true. Regardless of whether we fell in love due to a curse. Everything we did while we were under it would still remain. Just like this Northerner will love me for how I saved her homeland, I would still love her as she is my shield and my woman.

Unable to stop myself, I grabbed her waist and yanked her towards me. A fire burned in my heart. Once that threatened to consume me. As Liv was taller, it was awkward to initiate a kiss. But none of that mattered.

I reached for her head and pulled it down; I then stole her lips. Burning mad with desire, I savored her taste. And despite my aggression, Liv accepted me meekly. She responded to my caress and sucked on my tongue. Although I haven't had my fill, I pulled away.

Liv then stared at me with eyes full of desire. Her cheeks flushed and her eyes trembled. Though she was much bigger than me, this wonderful woman chose to protect, not control, me. And I loved her more with each second because of her devotion.

"Liv," I called with passion.

"Yes, my love?"

"Thank you."

Liv then gently touched her forehead to mine.

"There is no need for such words between us, Beloved."

Her sweet words, soothing and full of conviction, filled me with contentment. Liv and I spent a few moments just feeling each other's warmth. Her scent, which reminded me of the warmth of summer, gave me peace.

Although, due to having {Listen}, I ended up eavesdropping on everyone else.

"Tsk. If it's Liv, then I don't mind giving my stop beside Dearest."

"Ara, but she won fair and square, though, Lilly-sama. Meanwhile, you were hardly helpful."

"Aki, you went insane a while ago. I think you were just as equally useless," Jas retorted.

Our Northerner's actions calmed even the three who were aggressive earlier.

"Sigh, it's hard to stay angry when you have someone like Liv," Bella exhaled in exhaustion.

"Hahaha! That's Big Momma for you! She's our Momma bear! Liv is so cute, but she is even cuter when she goes berserk! Darling is lucky to have her."

"Bloody oath, Liv is one hell of a sheila. Can give you a hug or a boot to the arse. Let's all sit down. Nelle, you good?"

"I am Lady Rhiannon; I am just amazed at how your group processes things."

"What do you mean, Zanele? We're always like this."

"I can see that, Lady Bella. Any one of the issues I brought up earlier would have forced other people at odds. Most would have lost their spirit. Some would have even gone insane. I should know; you are not the first Successor I have briefed."

"Ho? We aren't? You also spoke to others besides Darling?"

"I have, although it was through a web camera and a voice synthesizer. My official alias and codename in IRIS is 'the Analyst.' Of the ones I spoke to, I heard that many of them ended their lives or went insane. I am so glad that your Successor is more resilient than the rest."

"Hmm, even Nelle's got an alias. Why don't we? Weren't you meant to get one when you became a Phantom?"

Olamide then added, "Lady Robyn, I think that is more because you all ascend too fast. Normally, it takes years for reapers to grow. During that time, Graveyard assigns an alias based on each one's combat style and actions. And it filters out the weak."

Robyn thought for a moment before asking, "Then what is yours?"

"It is Stonebull my lady. I received it around my 5th year."

I see. That's why, despite all the Phantoms, the aliases remain simple. I had thought it would be like usernames in a game. If "bull" is used, you have to get "bull01" or something. Requiring a Phantom to survive at least five years at a minimum makes sense.

Taken that way, the alias was the mark of a true veteran. Intrigued, I began to wonder what my own alias would be. Unlike the graveyard names we gave ourselves, the reaper community gave you the alias.

"Fufu, I am glad you feel better, beloved, but must your mind wander as I embrace you? Are you not attracted to me?" my northerner said, sounding hurt.

"W-What?! Of cour…"

I frantically pulled away to explain, only to see Liv making a mischievous smile. She even closed her right eye in a wink. Unsure how to react, I just stared at her, dumbfounded.

"Haha. The girls are right. You are quite fun to tease, beloved."

With an angelic chuckle, Liv kissed the tip of my nose and then suddenly rested her body on my chest. Like a child, she lay on her side like a cat. The other girls didn't mind and sat around us.

When everyone got settled in, Zanele began to continue for the nth time. It must have been tiring talking to my harem and me. I wasn't sure if it was due to being smart or being childish, but the girls get sidetracked extremely easily.

'Although I am the same.'

"For what it's worth, I am very sorry that you had to go through all that, Successor. I had an inkling. But, I never met the profiles I analyzed. I failed to see how my words would impact someone's life. Please forgive me."

Originally, I grew pissed learning that my death was orchestrated. How was that any different from murder? They threw me into the enlistment with little clue, and I had to constantly be on edge. The words Roland said back then finally made sense.

But while I did get hurt and had to deal with immense pain. If someone asked me what I would do if I could turn back time, I wouldn't change a thing. After all, despite all the hardship, I never felt more alive than when I was in Hellsgate.

And as I looked at the wonderful women beside me, I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without them. They made me better; their affection brightened my days, and their smiles became my reason for living. Yes, it was hard, but it was worth it.

"It is nothing, Zanele. In fact, I want to thank you. Thank you for choosing me. Because despite everything. It was because I became a successor that I met my harem. As Liv said, although we might be under a curse, I don't care. So long as they are with me, I am happy."

Zanele heard my words and broke into a smile. "I see. Then it is good. Thank you for telling me. Seeing the love you share, I am glad to have contributed to it in some small way."

"You have. So much so that I want to make you my {Vassal}," I confessed.

"W-What?"

Zanele and Olamide looked surprised. My harem had mixed reactions: disappointment, frustration, surprise, and irritation.

"Here he goes again." "Can't say I didn't expect it." "He has no limit, remember?" "That was the only thing that stopped him." "Geez!" "Haha, as expected of our Kindred."

They were right; I wanted reliable people beside me. Their origins didn't matter; what did was their dedication to their craft. Zanele was an excellent academic. Her weakness in combat she made up for with wisdom and intelligence.
