Lord of Mysterious Wizard

Chapter 120: 120: Pollution Pool

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Pollution Pool

Those figures moved too quickly, darting by like phantoms, allowing Tang Qi to only catch a fragment of information—or rather, just half a fragment.

“Power of an Evil God… Polluter!”

This half fragment made Tang Qi frown as several memory flashbacks arose in his mind.

And the scene he glimpsed in haste allowed Tang Qi to quickly confirm where those fleeting figures came from.

In that instant, he saw a tall figure, a black suit, and several white phantoms, which could possibly be… masks?

“Hastu Club!”

...

Tang Qi rolled down the car window, his head slightly bowed, whispering silently.

Various clues surfaced in his mind.

From the initial Amber Merchant, that bizarre Evil God Seed, to the Masked Weirdo that attacked Stanna, the subsequent attempts to retrieve the seed and the business card by the mutated masked men, and the Samra avatar’s familiarity with the white masks.

When these were connected, an obvious truth seemed to be emerging.

Right here in Messer City, or with Messer City as its core, there lurked a Transcendent Organization leaning towards the Evil Camp.

And it seemed that the main force of this organization was an unknown Evil God.

So far, Tang Qi hadn’t seen any other members of this organization, the only one he had confronted and fought against was that mutated white Masked Weirdo; the fact that even the Samras were aware of it suggests that such masks contaminated by the Evil God’s Power were not rare within the organization.

Club… Could it be that these masked people are like the most common attendants seen in various clubs, and they are merely the most basic tools?

As Tang Qi pondered this hypothesis, a hint of surprise appeared in his eyes.

Tang Qi had fought against the out-of-control mask person whose combat power had increased dramatically, and he relied on a sneak attack to kill with one strike.

With his current combat prowess, Tang Qi reckoned he could handle at least seven or eight mutated, out-of-control masked people, and if given a spacious battlefield, it wouldn’t be hard to eliminate them all.

But if the masked people were “basic staff” of the Hastu Club, it would naturally suggest the existence of higher-level combat personnel.

“Is this a powerful organization that the Ancient Castle Bureau might have long been aware of, but due to manpower constraints, has temporarily tolerated its growth?”

“What are their goals? To be moving about in Blank District at such a time…?”

“Stop!”

The coachman, in a tense state, almost shuddered from the abrupt command uttered by Tang Qi; if he hadn’t quickly identified that the voice came from inside the carriage behind him, the old cowboy would probably have already drawn his gun.

Though he made his living as a coachman, the old cowboy’s temper remained, and after jumping from the shock, he was about to vent his anger at the passenger inside the carriage when he saw a dozen silver Nar drop into the iron can he had placed to the side.

The clinking sound was exceptionally pleasing to the ear, enough to make him forget the previous unpleasantness.

Just as he was about to thank the generous passenger, he found that the carriage was already empty.

“Young and in a hurry, does he even know where he is?”

“Never mind, it’s none of my business, I’m just here to earn tomorrow night’s drink money.”

Muttering to himself, the coachman then turned and lightly whipped the horse, and the spacious carriage kicked up the dust and moved on, much faster than before.

In Blank District, down a dark alley, a young figure dashed rapidly. As he passed a dark corner, his body buzzed and disintegrated into a swirling mist, swiftly blending into the night and vanishing without a trace.

Using his Fog Body, Tang Qi perfectly merged into the night and shadows, and no one would take note of a faint wisp of mist; at most, if seen occasionally, it would be thought of as night mist or vapor.

He wasn’t chasing to engage those few white-masked figures who had passed by in a flash.

Tang Qi’s purpose was merely to gather information.

From the process of laying a trap for the Samra family, it was clear how advantageous it is to have a lead in information. If it weren’t for Tang Qi’s concealed position and his intimate knowledge of the family, how could they have possibly been wiped out by such a simple trap?

Tang Qi had not yet clashed with the “Hastu Club,” but he had a strange premonition.

Whether it was because he had been falsely implicated with this organization, or for some other reason, there would inevitably be future encounters between them.

Under such circumstances, collecting some intelligence in advance was the natural course of action.

The time he had spent pondering had already caused him to lose track of several people.

However, thanks to the Fog Body, Tang Qi’s method of tracking had become both rudimentary and extremely effective.

He transformed into a mist and drifted to a higher vantage point, a vast area instantly coming into his view.

The houses, primarily in shades of yellow and black, the messy and filthy streets, the sewer vents occasionally releasing steam, as well as the various dark dealings and gory crimes in progress in different corners, all were vividly visible to him.

“Found them!”

It took no more than a few breaths for Tang Qi to once again spot those figures.

They seemed to have separated at some point and then headed towards the same direction.

That place was in the Southern Region, where old factories were prevalent, with residents mostly consisting of vagrants and genuinely low-income or even no-income groups.

Tang Qi made his judgment and drifted over without hesitation.

Before long, his form merged into the shadow of a window of an abandoned factory building, and below on the streets, a total of four Human Figures came together.

Each one of them was dressed in a certain standard black suit, not pompous or gentlemanly, rather it looked a bit grim, coupled with the white masks covering their faces, in the late night, especially in a place like the Bronk District.

Even if someone accidentally passed by here, they would probably be frightened enough to scram in panic.

These four, just like the mutated Masked Men Tang Qi had seen before, all had tall, robust physiques, and were bald. They made not the slightest sound as they moved, like four black Ghosts, converging below.

As the four of them took their positions, a deep and icy voice resounded from beneath their masks, one after the other.

“The sleeping paraphernalia has been set up, we have three hours.”

“Intelligence confirmed, this is the Death site of Number Thirty.”

“The information left by Number Thirty before dying has been found, the target is an unmarked Abnormality with a strong physique, primarily engaging in brute-force Combat; the vital points seem to be the heart and head, but it has extremely strong recovery abilities, unable to be heavily damaged in a short time, it may choose to escape.”

“It meets the Pollution Pool requirements, begin capture immediately!”

Four voices that were almost identical penetrated Tang Qi’s ears one after another.

These four white Masked Men seemed not like normal humans; if not for that clear Human aura on them, their precision and uniformity of action, as well as that cold Mechanical feel, would make one mistake them for robots.

“Is this their State before they lost control?”

“Are their actions aimed at capturing an Abnormality that once killed their kind?”

“The goal, is for something called the Pollution Pool.”

Tang Qi watched the figures below starting to set up some kind of trap, his mind racing with thoughts.

At the same time, Tang Qi did not forget to carefully observe the four individuals, as he had been too hasty before and had only managed to extract midway Information Fragments.

And the last time they fought, Tang Qi had directly killed the Masked Man without having the chance to take a closer look.

Now, it was an excellent opportunity.
