Chapter 133 03-25 - 133 Valley
Chapter 133: Chapter 133 Valley
The second Validator was a red-nosed old man, somewhat overweight, clad in a blue coverall, which, instead of being stained with oil, bore traces of some unidentifiable fresh blood.
He held a military water flask in his hand, but given his staggering walk, it was obvious that it wasn’t filled with water.
Dizzily, the old man stepped forward in front of everyone, pulled out a “lizard” from his bosom, swayed it a few times towards the Validator, and then successfully passed.
The Contactors behind were utterly baffled.
However, Tang Qi instantly discerned the old man’s origins.
[Extraordinary Creatures: Croc Speaker.]
...
[State: Drunk.]
[Information Fragment: A barely considered branch of the Beast Tamer profession, they naturally or accidentally can communicate with crocodiles and control, tame, and even cause them to mutate and grow. Of course, to achieve the latter, one must be at Professional Level.]
A simple Information Fragment allowed Tang Qi to deduce that the old man came from Marston City near Messer City, as only this city with a large river nearby provides an ideal habitat for crocodiles.
And Marston City’s signature, crocodiles in abundance.
Clearly, the so-called lizard was actually a small crocodile tamed by the old man, though the specific breed was unknown.
After the old man, more Transcendents continued to step forward for validation, each of their backgrounds easily seen through by Tang Qi.
Most of them were not powerful combat professions; they were mostly support types, and not one had reached Professional Level, suggesting they were merely wild Transcendents.

At the same time, some Contactors also passed the validation.
They possessed one or two Curios, which barely met the market’s requirements.
Soon, it was Tang Qi’s turn.
With the experience of those before him, he didn’t waste any time, casually taming a passing owl to prove his “Beast Tamer” identity.
Compared to other inconspicuous Professionals in the field, a Beast Tamer was noticeably more eye-catching.
After passing the validation, Tang Qi clearly felt more than a dozen observing glances cast his way.
Which he dismissed with a cold huff, as a warning.
He crafted a persona for his “Second Body”: a somewhat weathered, haughty wild Beast Tamer with a bit of a temper.
This simplistic persona was very easy to embody.
Once everyone had completed their validations, the few ineligible ordinary people were once again knocked out by the Big Man with a clap of his hands, while the validation on the other side was still not complete.
Before they departed, Tang Qi took a glance.
Those who chose to accept employment by the Market Initiator Organization to go deep into the estate to cleanse a Mysterious passage of Polluted Monsters included six Transcendents, three Contactors, and five incredibly foolhardy ordinary individuals.
Their reasons for choosing so varied—the former two did so to keep their information and professions undisclosed, while the ordinary folk were purely trying their luck.
Or in other words, they were courting death.
On the lawn, everyone silently waited, the scene eerily quiet.
The Big Man, who seemed fiery-tempered, exhibited an unexpectedly patient focus, fixating on some mottled sculptures erected by the former estate owner, filled with the style of ancient times.
Fifteen minutes later, footsteps were heard.
Those people had returned.
Following a few Shadow Soldiers, they stepped back onto the lawn.
And the results were clear at that moment; of the fourteen who went, only five returned.
Including four Transcendents and one Contactor.
Tang Qi casually glanced over and saw two dead Transcendents, both of Professional Support type. Their death was likely due to overestimating their combat abilities. The surviving Contactor probably survived because he possessed quite a powerful Curio.
As for the others, their death was, in fact, predetermined from the start.
“Even low-level Monsters, once they enter Combat State, are hard to deal with without similar experiences, regardless of possessing Extraordinary Power.”
“As for the ordinary people, it is simply a case of ‘you won’t die if you don’t seek death.'”
While Tang Qi was making these remarks, the Big Man finally shifted his gaze from the sculpture.
He glanced over the remaining qualified people in the area.
Satisfied, he smiled and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, the market is about to begin. You are the last batch of Validators; follow me.”
After speaking, he motioned for everyone to follow him deeper into the estate.
At the same time, he lightly instructed the few Shadow Soldiers, “Clean up those Monsters and bodies, and send those Lucky Ones back to their homes.”
Those shadows nodded in understanding.
Then, the group headed towards another side of the estate.
Mixed in the crowd, Tang Qi was assessing this Mysterious organization that initiated the market.
Capable of massively distributing Seals with Extraordinary Birds!
More than one team of Validators!
Has an organized group of subordinates!
Tends towards a Neutral Camp!
These assessments almost confirmed that this might be a newly risen but Powerful organization.
Perhaps it couldn’t compare to official forces like Ancient Castle Bureau, but it triumphs in being secretive and neutral.
At least for now, Tang Qi could not discern any signs of scheming from this organization.
Led by the courtly Big Man, everyone proceeded to the actual site of the market.
First, they arrived at the back of the estate, where four spacious carriages stood, just enough to accommodate the 22 people, including Tang Qi, who had passed the qualification verification, giving each person a seat.
The four carriages raced through the dark forest, astonishingly silent, and briskly left Rotten Truffle, heading towards a Valley completely shrouded in dense night fog.
Since the carriages were enclosed, Tang Qi and the others were unaware of the direction or the route.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the carriages entered the Valley and then stopped.
The carriage doors opened, and everyone got out one by one.
Almost immediately, when everyone saw the scene before them, their eyes lit up.
There it was, an Extraordinary Market appeared right before everyone.
The place seemed to be a Valley, with damp night fog swirling around, gnarly and bizarre black trees, and some giant stones covered in mud and moss scattered around. At some corners stood a few simple wooden houses, seemingly inhabited, with dim yellow lights shining within.
Moreover, in front of these trees or stones, or even simply along the roadside, there were stalls, with stall owners seemingly engulfed in the fog, indistinct. Streams of Human Figures were moving between these stalls, stopping or even squatting down to talk in hushed tones.
Despite the scene not being lively, there was undoubtedly a semblance of a market starting to take shape.
The courtly Big Man leading everyone seemed equally pleased with the scene before him.
He directly pointed towards the entrance of the Valley, towards a shadow that resembled a tree stump and a bizarre stone urn in front of the shadow, and said, “Everyone, over there you can update your Seals, only requiring one Divine Grace Coin for each.”
“After updating the Seal, you may officially enter the market.”
“As for the detailed rules of the market, you can also learn about them there.”
After finishing speaking, the Big Man didn’t wait for any response from the crowd, he simply jumped onto the first carriage and disappeared into the night fog like a Ghost; the remaining three carriages did the same.
What do you think?
