Chapter 165: 165: Ethnic Group
Chapter 165: Chapter 165: Ethnic Group
Tang Qi sat on the sofa, pondering the information provided by the Heart Polluter.
The two of them had actually never ventured deep into that mysterious cave; instead, they merely roamed around the outskirts a few times, only to be frightened off by a swarm of underground monsters. They exerted considerable effort to capture one, attempting to find a Beast Tamer who could tame it.
Then, they tried to control the Beast Tamer or invite him to join their group.
The thinking was barely normal, but unfortunately, it was utterly wrong.
According to the description by the Heart Polluter, the number of monsters inside the cave was beyond imagination, and nearly all were new species.
This meant that unless they found a Professional Level “Beast Tamer” or “Beast Shepherd,” there would be no use at all. For an ordinary Beast Tamer, taming a new species monster would require massive amounts of time, and if it’s a large group, who knows how long it would take.
“Two unlucky guys; the partners they really should have looked for are those intelligent Ghosts.”
“Or, no matter what profession they choose for a partner, it’s bound to be suicidal.”
Tang Qi made a firm conclusion, because even from just the description by the Heart Polluter, he could tell that it’s not a place they could get involved in.
They were simply too weak.
The two had already died, and Tang Qi still didn’t forget to stab them metaphorically.
Then he remembered something, got up, first scavenged the wooden house, found the Devil Dog Hybrid Manuscript and fourteen dog teeth that he had traded away earlier. The two had already started experimenting, attempting to breed obedient Devil Dogs.
Unfortunately, neither of them had the Talent for Beast Taming, so they soon ended in failure, which was why they were so eager to call Tang Qi over.
Apart from this, they also found a stack of unengraved iron business cards.
The remaining Information Fragment indicated that the previous owner was a former spouse of “Charming Heart.”
After confirming that there were no other gains, Tang Qi rescued the group of unlucky college students; the woman had administered a strong drug, so everyone was in a sleeping state. Tang Qi tossed them one by one outside the Dead Forest, then set the wooden house on fire.
As the residents of the town came out to check upon hearing the “crackling” sound of the fierce flames devouring the wooden house and Dead Forest.
Tang Qi’s figure had already completely vanished into a vast white morning mist; behind him, a Tusked Lizard monster was tightly following.
…
The mountain where Cold River Town is located has a somewhat complicated name, roughly translating to Cloud Mist Peak.
On the mountain, indeed, moist mist pervades all year round.
The vegetation growing in it appears to be common varieties at first glance, but on closer inspection, it seems that some twisted transformations have occurred.
The entire mountain exudes a cold, dark texture.
Tang Qi doesn’t need to rely on the vague description from the Heart Polluter to find the destination; he has a “guide.”
That Tusked Lizard began to get agitated after entering a particular area of the mountain.
Tang Qi didn’t suppress it, this bit of agitation couldn’t break through the “Red” control.
Quickly, it transformed into a Beast Shadow and headed deep into the thick fog.
Tang Qi followed with his Fog Body, traversing complex paths, when suddenly in front of him appeared a very strange dense forest.
From above, it would appear as a normal forest.
But standing before it, all these giant trees are twisted, with intertwined roots, forming various humanoid, beast, and alien shapes, leaves piling layer upon layer forming putrid pools of liquid, which was not a good phenomenon.
This meant that not even scavenger organisms could survive in this forest.
Tang Qi and the lizard floated into it, and soon the scene in the deepest part of the forest came into his view.
A Heavenly Pit!
A tremendously dark Heavenly Pit appeared.
“That Heart Polluter, to have the courage to commit suicide in such a place before becoming Transcendent? Was it the power of a broken heart?”
Tang Qi silently commented, then his figure appeared in front of the Heavenly Pit.
With no sunlight shining down, even with Tang Qi’s eyesight, he couldn’t see what was at the bottom of the pit.
He closed his eyes to sense for a moment; there were no strong signs of danger, just a very faint and seemingly endless malice continuously emerging.
Tang Qi opened his eyes, and gave a glance at the restless Tusked Lizard.
Both man and beast jumped into the pit at the same time.
An even deeper darkness immediately assaulted them.
Then, two faint points of Golden Light appeared.
The Eyes of the Melting Furnace!
No activation effect, just the infusion of a hint of Melting Furnace Power, a very special vision emerged before his eyes.
Ahead, a familiar Beast Shadow was crawling rapidly deeper.
Inside the Heavenly Pit, there was a passageway that stretched all the way to the underground.
Rugged stones and slippery walls added to the sense of an underground adventure.
And then very quickly, this adventure headed towards “Horror”.
Within mere dozens of meters into the passageway, Tang Qi discovered some suspicious items piled in a corner.
Bones, human bones.
Some were new, and some were old; it seemed like some kind of “Feeder” had deliberately disposed of remains here.
Before Tang Qi could take a closer look, suddenly intense Combat noises came from ahead, along with two different Roars.
One side was clearly from a Tusked Lizard.
Huff!
Tang Qi’s face shifted, and with a step, he appeared at the source of the noise.
Inside the dark passage, two figures were entangled in battle.
One was the Tusked Lizard, already under the control of Tang Qi.
The other was an “Abnormality” Tang Qi had never seen before.
It resembled a Dwarf Human but was completely naked with incredibly strong limbs, a bald head, seemingly fully regressed eyes, a nose area that was a flesh pit, and a protruded mouth that, when opened, showcased intersecting dog teeth.
Its body was covered with a tough gray-white skin.
As Tang Qi looked over, flickers of ghost light immediately surged.
[Extraordinary Creatures: Unknown Abnormality.]
[State: Normal.]
[Information Fragment One: It was originally a Human, infected by some unknown radiant power, transformed into its current form; it possesses strength far beyond a normal person, horrific Defense power, and its Combat ability is strongest in the dark.]
[Information Fragment Two: Although it similarly favors human flesh, it is not picky—other monsters’ meat is also gladly Devoured.]
“Indeed…”
“Roar~”
Just as Tang Qi let out a sigh, he heard the Tusked Lizard emit a cry of agony, pleading for help to Tang Qi, its “Master”.
It was being ridden by the Weirdo, a pair of gray fists crazily pounding on its skull.
Inside the passage, “thumps” resounded.
Tang Qi made no sound, merely drifting past faintly.
“Boom”
Without warning, a burst of Golden Light Flames exploded in the passageway.
Encasing a fist, with terrifying power, it brutally smashed into the Weirdo’s temple.
Bang!
Hiss!
After a muffled sound, the Weirdo, who had been releasing its violent power maniacally, collapsed delightedly on the ground.
Its bald head was horrifically distorted, and a faint rotten scent of brain pulp flowed out from the gaps. Its gray-white skin that brought horrific Defense was as fragile as paper under the Melting Furnace Power.
But before Tang Qi could move forward to check the Abnormality’s corpse and extract the Resentful Soul,
after the death of the Abnormality, its body decayed at a rate visible to the naked eye, a special rotten scent spreading fast with the blowing breeze.
Before long, a sharp Roar came from deep within the passage.
Then, it was followed by the urgent, continuous Roars of at least dozens.
“Roar~”
“Roar Roar”
Running footsteps and swaying shadows rapidly approached Tang Qi’s location.
“A tribe?”
Tang Qi’s expression shifted slightly, looking at the rotten corpse on the ground that was left with only a skeleton, he suddenly spoke.
What do you think?
