Chapter 94: 94 Tilos Monster and Dice

Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Tilos Monster and Dice

In Tang Qi’s palm lay a die, made from some sort of bone or a special material…

Unlike ordinary dice, this one was larger, about the size of half a fist, and a bit harder in texture, grayish-white in color, with six faces. But instead of dots, each face bore very small patterns, images of some kind of demon.

When Tang Qi gazed intently, flecks of ghost light began to emerge, indeed indicating a Curios.

[Curios: Tilos Dice.]

[State: Intact.]

[Information Fragment One: A one-time-use Curios, it’s a die made from the bones of a Tilos Monster, its use is engraved on the sixth face.]

...

[Information Fragment Two: This is one of the many gifts Jason’s mother gave him, also to prevent him from forgetting the other half of his lineage within.]

“Tilos Monster?”

Tang Qi seemed to have thought of something, his expression turning curious.

Meanwhile, his hand subconsciously flipped to the sixth face of the die, where, apart from the six small patterns, there was also a line of small characters at the bottom, spelling out the use of this die.

It’s a single-use item, to be thrown forcefully onto the ground while chanting the Spell “Tilos”, and the die will shatter, simultaneously summoning Tilos Monsters equivalent to the number of the face it lands on. However, these monsters are merely projections; they cannot fight, but they can buy time for your escape.

“Hmm, quite convenient for escaping.”

Tang Qi rolled the die and silently provided his comment.

However, his expression remained curious.

The second piece of information attached to the die suggested it was given to Jason so he would not forget the other half of his bloodline.

Meaning, Jason’s mother’s lineage was that of a Tilos Monster.

“Hum”

Involuntarily, the image of a Tilos Monster surfaced in Tang Qi’s mind.

That was the pattern engraved on the six faces of the die.

A creature half human, half sheep; usually with the lower body of a sheep and upper body of a human. Male or female, they both had two curved sheep horns on their heads. Unlike other chaotic and mad demons, they were one of the few species of monsters that retained their sanity.

Moreover, Tilos Monsters revered nature, living in beautifully-environmented deep mountains. Regardless of gender, their temperament was very free-spirited, not shy about relationships with humans, and of course, not averse to relations with other species either.

In the Monster Records, Tilos Monsters also occupied several chapters, mostly portrayed positively.

But with the Hundred-Year Spirit Barrier, they gradually became absurd mythological tales.

Jason’s father managing to encounter a female Tilos Monster and even having an offspring with her was unexpected.

“Jason’s father is quite formidable, daring to consort with a Monster, and even producing offspring, according to the views from my previous life, Tilos Monsters could be considered a sort of exotic woman, so his father bagged quite a bargain.”

“And, since she could give so many gifts to Jason, it indicates his mother is no ordinary Tilos Monster.”

Tang Qi chuckled to himself for a moment, then stored away the die as well.

Although not a Powerful Combat Class Curios, it was a decent Support Class one, an unexpected find.

Jason probably gave this as a thank-you gift, thinking that Tang Qi was just a fragile adviser, who, if in danger, could rely on such a Curios to save his life.

Though he was mistaken, Tang Qi accepted the kind gesture.

After putting everything away, Tang Qi soon made his way back to the fourth floor of the hospital.

The previously eerie intensive care room, due to the presence of the Blood Demon Flower, had now returned to normal. Stanna, although still pale, had all her vital signs return to normal and should be able to leave the hospital after a few days of rest.

The police station had arranged for many people to take turns on guard, so there was no need for Tang Qi’s help.

Before departing, Tang Qi had a brief exchange with Nathan.

They confirmed some information about the attackers.

According to Nathan’s description, it was a man wearing a white mask, of unknown age, extremely muscular, very fast, and possessed horrifying strength; he could smash a police car with one punch and also wield some terrifying Extraordinary Power, such as the Blood Demon Flower that he threw in front of Stanna before leaving.

If it hadn’t been for Tang Qi and Old Coulson’s intervention that caused the Blood Demon Flower to successfully enter its withering phase and prevent it from releasing a deadly poison gas, the entire Holy Thorn Hospital would have probably been doomed by now.

The purpose of that attacker is currently only known to be related to those Curios.

Whether it was all the Curios or just a part of them remains unclear.

Realizing this, Tang Qi frowned.

“The attacker’s purpose is unknown, and that batch of Curios is quite special. Whether it is the treasure map, the Wrong Magic Book, or the amber left by the Amber Merchant, there seems to be a conspiracy behind each one, any of which could be the target.”

“This is also the reason why I dumped the responsibility on the officials, though I didn’t expect the mastermind behind the scenes to dare target the officials as well.”

Tang Qi pondered while walking out of the hospital.

There has been some delay tonight, but it was still deep into the night, so Tang Qi felt that the Hunting could still continue.

He was intensely curious what changes would occur once his Molten Furnace Meditation Method broke through the ten percent progress barrier.

Or perhaps, that was simply a misguided fancy of his own.

Tang Qi headed towards the end of a street outside the hospital, where there were dark alleys leading in all directions, suitable for him to vanish in mist form.

However, just as he was about to leave the hospital grounds, on a whim, he glanced unintentionally at the floor where the intensive care units were. The lights there, which were originally bright, suddenly flickered and then abruptly… went out.

Click!

Tang Qi had just stepped out when his footsteps suddenly halted. He hesitated for less than half a breath, and then immediately turned back.

The first floor, nothing amiss.

The second and third floors, the same, nothing amiss.

But as Tang Qi was about to set foot on the fourth floor, a strange smell suddenly filled the air. After sniffing it, he inexplicably developed an aversion to the fourth floor area, and wanted to turn around and leave hastily.

For example, the several doctors and nurses walking ahead of Tang Qi, no matter what they were originally going to do on the fourth floor, now left covering their noses.

What was extremely strange was that they felt nothing wrong with this action and did not notice that the entire fourth-floor area had become pitch black, with only faint, bright red phosphorescent light seeping through the closed doorways.

Hiss~hiss

Silently, Tang Qi pushed open the iron gate to the fourth-floor area. The moment he stepped in, strands of golden Light Flames emanated from his body, and a burning smell filled the air. It was still unpleasant, but it no longer made Tang Qi feel the need to cover his nose and leave.

However, as soon as Tang Qi entered the corridor and saw the scene before him, his expression immediately changed.

The originally spacious corridor was now completely covered with wriggling, bright red things that looked like intestines or perhaps Vines, rendering no place to set foot on. They were crisscrossed and entangled, hanging policemen and medical staff on the walls.

Just like how the previous Blood Demon Flower was absorbing Stanna’s blood, these Vines were also sucking blood, and the master of the Vines seemed to have a penchant for torture.

They could have quickly strangled these people to death, but instead, they just entwined around them like pythons, only with sharp thorns. Those entangled became a blur of Flesh and blood in an instant, yet they couldn’t struggle, as a certain poison gas lingering in the air had paralyzed them.

Tang Qi could see their lucid eyes; they were still conscious, experiencing the extreme Horror of everything happening to their bodies.

Hum~

When about a dozen Vines whirled toward Tang Qi, wanting to drag him in as well, his body instantly turned into a murky mist, unhesitatingly drifting towards the innermost intensive care unit.
