Chapter 12: A fragment of the past.

KASH FAMILY HOSPITAL.

PRIVATE WARD

Dr. Kash finished examining August Maijune and spoke to Aaron Saint.

''Nothing out of the ordinary. Can you tell me what exactly happened, Aaron Saint?''

''She same to the company with coffee. I didn't know she was coming because I called her earlier to let her know I was going to be late. Two hours later, she called me and told me she was outside the company and I asked her to wait for me. I saw her losing consciousness the moment I got to her. Kash, is she going to be fine?'' Aaron Saint asked worriedly.

''Yes, she is fine. Based on the initial symptoms from the moment you brought her in, her fainting could be one or two reasons. Something triggered her subconscious mind, or she might have seen something right before she fainted. But, we can only wait for her to wake up before I find out''. Dr. Kash told Aaron Saint.

Aaron Saint sighed and looked at August Maijune as she slept.

''I will be in my office. Let me know as soon as she wakes up''. Dr. Kash said and turned to leave.

''Sure, thanks''. Aaron Saint replied.

Dr. Kash went out and Aaron Saint sat on the chair by the bed.

August Maijune was in a deep slumber. She found herself walking on an endless dark road.

She was suddenly pulled into another medium where she saw another girl who looked just like her. This girl was pointing a gun at a couple and their son.

August Maijune stood at a distance and watched as the girl turned the gun towards her and asked in a shrewd tone ''want to do it for me?''.

August Maijune shook her head fearfully making the smile on the girl's face to vanish replacing a menacing look of malice and contempt.

The girl smirked and walked closer to August Maijune and stretched the gun towards August Maijune, urging her to take it ''take it and do it instead''.

August Maijune shook her head once again and stepped backwards and hit against a wall.

The girl whose eyes were a shade of blue with long lashes furrowed her brows and said mockingly ''what? scared? I will do it then''.

The girl gave a sly smile and continued ''since we are the same person anyway, me killing them means you killing them''.

August Maijune watched fearfully as the girl shot the family of three and gave out a satisfying but terrifying laugh. The girl used her left leg to kick the man and said ''useless. He was so useless, so useless it cost him his family. Maijune, do you know who I am?'' she sounded pissed off.

August Maijune shook her head and took a step back frightened.

''I am you!!!''

''No, you can't be me'. August Maijune retorted back.

''Oh, really? Well, I didn't think it would be easy accepting who you are. But, you know something funny? You are the body and I am the mind, so, you are the one who did the shooting right now. I was just giving you instructions. That's how we've always worked. Ahahahahaha!!!''

Aaron Saint noticed August Maijune struggling in herself in her sleep and tried to wake her up.

''August Maijune, wake up. You're having a nightmare''.

August Maijune continued to struggle while murmuring in her sleep. ''No, is not true. I am not you, I can't be you''.

Aaron Saint picked up the line phone next to the bed and dialled 1. He spoke as soon as the phone connected ''Kash, is me. August Maijune is behaving strangely''.

Aaron Saint put the phone done and tried to hold August Maijune's hands together in one place. August subconsciously felt danger and stretched her hand forth and held Aaron Saint's neck.

Aaron Saint suddenly felt a tight grip on his neck and choked. August Maijune opened her eyes and Aaron Saint saw a shade of blue eyes that quickly turned to brown again and he thought he was hallucinating.

Dr. Kash and a nurse entered and saw Aaron struggling to free himself from August's grasp. Dr. Kash rushed and they both tried to release August Maijune's hand but her nails dug deeper into Aaron Saint's neck and she opened her eyes at once and saw the scene in front of her; of her hand choking Aaron Saint and she quickly let go as her eyes turned normal again.

Aaron Saint let out a deep breath and coughed. August Maijune looked at her hand shakenly as she saw the marks left on Aaron Saint's neck.

Dr. Kash and the nurse looked at August Maijune with mixed feelings.

Dr. Kash walked to Aaron Saint and spoke

''Aaron, are you okay? You're hurt, let me get you some first aid''.

''No, I'm alright, why don't you take a look at August Maijune first?'' Aaron Saint said.Get the l𝒂test 𝒏𝒐v𝒆ls at 𝒏ovelbi𝒏(.)co𝒎

''I will, but let the nurse attend to your neck''. Dr. Kash replied as he studied Aaron Saint's neck.

''Alright''. Aaron Saint stood up.

''Go and treat his neck Nurse Jules''

''Yes, doctor''.

Aaron Saint looked at August Maijune once again worriedly before going out with Nurse Jules. Dr. Kash pushed the chair closer to the bed and starred at August Maijune not knowing what to say.

''Did I. do that? Did I hurt Aaron Saint?'' August Maijune asked questionably.

Dr. Kash checked her pulse and he said to her.

''Yes. Can you tell me what is wrong with you?''

''Aren't you supposed to tell me what is wrong with me? You are the doctor. I don't know what is going on. I had a dream but it felt so real. It was so real, I was in danger and''

''And you subconsciously hurt Aaron Saint without realising it''. Dr. Kash completed her sentence for her.

''Yes. Doctor, tell me. Do you think my memories will ever come back? Sometimes I feel that I am missing an important part of myself and it makes me scared''. August Maijune said as tears formed in her eyes. She looked rather lost and helpless.

''I have a friend who has a friend and he majored in psychology and psychiatry. Would you like to go and see him?'' Dr. Kash finally voiced put the thought in his mind. He had had his suspicions of what was wrong with August Maijune but he didn't want to conclude it without evidence or proper diagnostic.

''Can he help me? I don't want to hurt Aaron Saint again like today'' August Maijune said.

''He is very good at what he does, I don't know if he can help you find your missing memories but, I do know he can be off help to you''. Dr. Kash smiled.

''I will like to see him'' August Maijune said resolutely.

''Okay, but, before that. Can you tell me what happened before you fainted last night? Do you remember what happened?'' Dr. Kash asked and removed a journal from his coat and sat across August Maijune.

''Yes. I went to buy coffee for Aaron Saint. I wanted to surprised him but when I got to the company, he asked me to wait for him. As I stood there, I saw someone walking towards me and I felt some kind of dj vu"

''What kind?'' Dr. Kash propped further as he opened his journal to write.

''You know, like nostalgia. When I saw the man, I felt as if I had seen him somewhere and I also felt as if I had been to the company before. The man didn't give me a good feeling and then I broke into a cold sweat and the rest you know''.

''The man, was yesterday the first time you saw him?''

''Wait, I saw him at the caf. Yes, I remember now. The girl behind the counter thought we were together and asked me if he was my father and I said no. But, he left the caf before me. Do you think he was following me?''

''Likely. He was likely following you and''

''And that means, he knew who I was. Right?''

''Maybe. Aaron need to know about this. I will tell him; you rest for a while. You can go home after you finish your IV''.

''Okay''.

''August, can you also tell me more about the dream you just had?''

''The dream I just had?''

''Yes''

''Okay''.

August Maijune sat up straight on the bed and narrated everything to Dr. Kash while he jotted some few things in the journal.

DR. KASH OFFICE.

Aaron touched his neck as he spoke to Dr. Kash.

''So, my doubts were right, after all"

''Aaron, I didn't want to say this, but, I think I should be honest with you''.

''What is it?'' Aaron Saint asked while touching his neck.

''What if this girl is not ordinary? I mean, for the past five years you have searched for any clues about her but nothing came out. There is absolutely nothing on her, not even on the internet database''.
