Chapter 164 Punishable by death
"You're the child of Dao," Quin Xuxu announced.
Bai Quing and Fengxu were stunned by her words and they turned to look at Leon. Bai Quing had heard a thing or two about the Dao before, although her knowledge was not as deep as Quin Xuxu's, she still knew a bit.
Unlike the two of them, Fengxu was completely clueless and didn't know what they were talking about; she could only wait for someone to give an explanation.
At this moment, all of their expressions changed; they felt the two powerful presence that had just appeared in the Falcon sect's quarter.
"We've got visitors," Bai Quing mumbled softly as she rose to her feet.
Quin Xuxu, Fengxu, and Leon also stood up as well, all four of them left the tent to go see what was going on outside.
There, up in the night sky were two figures floating in the air. One was in fine white armour, while the other was in golden armour with a red cape attached to its shoulder plates.
They were Zhu Ming and the bald general who was also a level 9 expert.
Two powerful houses of the dynasty had come to their quarter at the same time!
Quin Xuxu narrowed her eyes. Such a situation was very rare since one was enough for whatever reason they had for being here; she could already guess why the two had come that night while the war was still ongoing.
Zhu Ming glanced at the joyous atmosphere of the Falcon sect's quarter with an expressionless face, her eyes scanned around before locking on Leon and the others who were standing in front of Quin Xuxu's tent.
Similarly, the golden armoured General was also looking at Leon. He was familiar with the Falcon sect and was naturally surprised to see a man wearing the uniform that was meant for the sect's disciples.
The disciples had yet to notice the two, but some of the elders had felt their arrival; they were currently watching in silence.
After a few seconds of observing, the two Generals drifted to the ground; the disciples noticed them because of this and immediately stopped what they were doing, cupped their hands, and moved to create space for the two.
Quin Xuxu and Bai Quing approached the two under the careful gaze of the disciples, Fengxu, Lin Shuran, Leon, and some of the elders followed behind the two of them.
"Greetings, Generals." Quin Xuxu and Bai Quing cupped their hands and said in unison after reaching the two, only a few meters gap was between them.

The rest behind them followed their action and also cupped their hands.
The golden armoured general had a smile on his face while Zhu Ming remained expressionless; none of them responded to their greetings.
Bai Quing and Quin Xuxu were not offended by this behaviour, it was very normal for powerful experts to behave nonchalantly to those who were weaker than themselves.
Both sides turned silent for a brief moment before Zhu Ming started talking.
"I received reports about your mission, the dynasty had a huge victory thanks to the two of you." Zhu Ming voiced out.
Quin Xuxu's expression shifted slightly. For Zhu Ming to already know about the outcome of the mission, she must also know about what happened before the fight. It wasn't that she was afraid, she had expected it after all.
It was just disturbing.
Bai Quing and Leon were the same, they had worried expressions on their faces.
Zhu Ming noticed this but didn't comment; the bald General also noticed this as well, and his smile widened.
"Your contributions were immeasurable and saved the dynasty a lot of forces, preventing many deaths. I will definitely report this to the emperor, you'll be rewarded nicely." Zhu Ming continued.
Quin Xuxu cupped her hands again.
"It's not worth mentioning, we were doing what we should as citizens of the dynasty. Protecting our home is everyone's duty." She said gently.
Zhu Ming nodded when she heard this, she glanced at the surrounding disciples once more before saying.
"Before that, I also learned that you killed an elder of your allied sect. Do you know what it means? Your action is similar to instigating internal conflict within the dynasty and in a period of war, this act is punishable by even death. But considering that you did so much, I believe that the punishment would not be too unbearable" Zhu Ming announced.
Gasp!
The surrounding discipline gasped when they heard this. They didn't expect that the dynasty would still want to punish Quin Xuxu for killing that person even after she had done so much.
Bai Quing's face was filled with worry as she looked at her Master. They were all waiting for what Quin Xuxu was going to say next.
"I understand, I'll accept whatever punishment the dynasty decides."
Quin Xuxu's response stunned everyone. She didn't argue or try to justify what she had done.
Zhu Ming gave her a long stare before saying that Quin Xuxu was to stay in her tent until words were sent to the palace and for the emperor's verdict to arrive, she was under arrest!
Quin Xuxu nodded in acceptance but it appeared that a certain someone wasn't satisfied about how the conversation was going.
"Hold on!" Leon's voice sounded from behind Quin Xuxu.
Everyone immediately focused their eyes on him.@@novelbin@@
"What is it?" Zhu Ming asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It wasn't her fault, I was the one who asked her to do it," Leon said boldly as he stepped in front of Quin Xuxu.
Everyone "..."
Are you being serious right now? Why would anyone dare to take the blame for a crime with a potential death punishment? Even if they were guilty of the crime, they wouldn't say a word of it if they found someone else to take the fall.
Everyone was curious as to why Leon would reveal himself when Quin Xuxu already agreed to accept whatever punishment.
Quin Xuxu looked at Leon's back, a sweet feeling rising in her heart but was accompanied by a feeling of dread. While she felt happy that Leon was willing to protect her even in such a situation, she couldn't help but think that he was acting too rashly and foolishly.
She had made great contributions during the battle against the martial artists from Kalahari, her punishment for killing an ally would definitely be reduced because of her contribution.
Unlike her, Leon had no noteworthy merits that could protect him.
"Oh, is that so? I guess it can't be helped then, you'll be the one to bear the punishment." The bald General chuckled from the side but was silenced by a glare from Zhu Ming.
Zhu Ming returned her gaze to Leon after her colleague stopped talking; a look that said "what an idiot" could be seen in her eyes as she looked at him.
Her thoughts were similar to Quin Xuxu, Leon didn't have any outstanding contribution that could be used to lessen his punishment for almost causing internal conflict.
"Please, don't listen to him. He's my disciple and must be trying to stand up for me." Quin Xuxu hurriedly called out before Zhu Ming could say anything, but the red-haired beauty wasn't planning to hear what she wanted to say, her gaze fixed on Leon instead.
"And how was it your doing when she was the one who killed him?" Zhu Ming asked.
"An elder who was stronger than me insulted someone I cared about and threatened to kill me. I was afraid of death and asked my Master to help me kill him." Leon said honestly.
Quin Xuxu felt like screaming when she heard Leon's answer.
'Brat, shut your trap and stop talking!'
What do you think?
