Chapter 176 Signs of battle
stared at the headless corpse of the spider queen that had green blood gushing out of her neck with a stunned face, he was surprised at how easy it had been to kill her.
The notification from the system woke him up from his daze as a screen appeared in front of him.
….
(Formidable Senior brother: protect the disciples of the Falcon sect and kill the spider queen.
Status: completed.
Reward: 10000 exp gained!
Secret of the underground chamber: Base of the midnight plain cult, used to create puppet warriors.)
….
Leon read the information on the screen and raised an eyebrow after seeing the last reward which was the secret of the underground chamber. He recalled hearing about the midnight plain but couldn't recall where, after a moment of thinking, Leon's eyes flung open as he finally remembered.
'That's right, Master did talk about the midnight plain. They are a cult group from hundreds of years ago that had caused chaos in the dynasty, so it's them again.' Leon thought to himself. He could already guess that the midnight plain was most likely the instigators of this war; they must be the ones who had spread false rumours about a way to reach level 10.
'Their plan must be to get back at the Cloud Dew Dynasty for almost destroying them, but what are these puppet soldiers?' Leon fell into thought once more. As someone who had experienced different worlds in six months, he was quite knowledgeable about some things; even though his knowledge of them was shallow, it was better than nothing.
Leon was aware that there were many kinds of puppet warriors, it depended on the world and the type of strength they had. For instance, the ghost mother that the demonic sect had used to attack the Falcon sect back then was a kind of puppet but could not be called a puppet warrior.
Thinking about this, Leon remembered that he still had the red bead that contained the level 8 ghost mother in his storage ring; he had planned to take it out and make her submit to him after getting stronger but had almost ended up forgetting about it.
' Let's think about that later, I'll have to find a way to report this piece of discovery first.'
After all, he simply couldn't report such important matters without evidence. What would be his claim? Would he have to reveal the system?
Hell no!
While still in his thoughts, a disciple came up to him to inform him that they were done with the remaining spiders.
'Oh, I almost forgot about that,' he said inwardly as he turned around to look.
Under the light of the glowing walls of the chamber, Leon could see the disembodied bodies of the spiders as well as the green blood all over the place. The disciples were standing together and all looking at him for what to do next.
"Good job everyone," Leon said with a smile that reached his eyes.
Getting complimented by their handsome Senior brother made the disciples feel shy and they all blushed cutely.
"W-what do we do now?" A disciple with long yellow hair asked while looking around.
Leon and the others also looked around. The chamber that they were in had several tunnels that led to unknown destinations linked to it, they didn't know which way to go.
Unable to decide, they all turned to look at Leon; he was the leader at the moment so they would listen to his decision.
Leon "..."
He was left speechless, all these women were looking at him as if he was familiar with this place; he was just as clueless as them!
'Hmm, but I already know that this is the base of a cult group; moving alone won't be wise, so we should stick together.' Leon said inwardly after deciding on their next course of action.@@novelbin@@
What they would do next was to go look for the others. Hopefully, they do not run into members of the midnight plain.
"Alright, everyone. We'll—"
Rumble!
Leon was about to speak but his words were interrupted by a rumbling sound as the ground under their feet trembled.
Everyone "..."
Not this again!
Right the next moment, the ground under their feet collapsed and everyone found themselves falling again.
But this time was shorter than the previous fall as Leon's feet landed on solid ground after a little more than a minute of falling, pieces of the collapsed ground landed with him and caused loud noises that echoed in the empty chamber.
"Hmm, another chamber," Leon mumbled after taking a quick look around himself. He also noticed that he had been separated from the disciples and was all by himself.
"Well, it makes it easier for me to move," Leon said and transformed into his cat form. The chamber that he found himself in this time only had three tunnels leading in and out of it and they were in three directions around him.
Without giving it much thought, Leon dashed toward the tunnel on the right and soon disappeared into it.
He didn't run straight on the ground, instead, he jumped along both sides of the tunnel walls. His cat paws lightly tapping on it without producing even the slightest sound.
There were times when he needed to make turns because the tunnel didn't have a straight path, and he had reversed sometimes because he came to a dead end. In all, Leon was confident that he had travelled at least two kilometres, but he still hadn't found anyone.
"Just how huge is this place?" ) Leon said to himself but his words were translated into cat sounds.
After a few more minutes of running, Leon reached another chamber. This chamber was several times larger than the rest he had seen and there were clear signs that a fight had taken place here. The scratches on the wall, craters on the ground, broken pieces of weapons, parts of damaged armour, and pieces of clothes.
Leon could also see dried blood stains on the ground, but the stench of blood had long vanished, which showed that whatever battle that happened here was a long time ago.
He strolled around the chamber, inspecting the place while still in his cat form.
'Hmm, a piece of golden armour. This definitely belongs to the soldiers of the Cloud Dew Dynasty, could they have fought with the cultists of the midnight plain here?
That's not right; if soldiers of the dynasty had already been here, it would mean that this is an already discovered region; they wouldn't have sent the sect to investigate.' Leon thought to himself while tapping a few inches long golden objects that seemed to be a fragment of a whole armour.
Leon continued to check; he found torn parts of red robes as well as oddly shaped weapons, which he recognised as the style of Kalahari fighters.
'So a fight between the Zhu Ming's men and warriors from the Kalahari dynasty took place here, but how did the soldiers get here?'
"Hmm?"
Leon's thought came to an abrupt stop as he turned his head to the side. His cat eyes gazed at the tunnel in that direction with a piercing glare, he could sense someone approaching.
Not long after, a sniffing sound could be heard accompanied by a female voice.
" I'm sure I picked his scent from here," the voice said confidently as she slowly entered the chamber.
Leon's cat eyes widened immediately after he saw the figure, the latter also had the same reaction as both parties locked gases for some time.
Leon looked back at the figure that was staring back at him with pleasant surprise, the sharp and cautious glint in his eyes had vanished completely!
Those white fluffy ears, the ever so familiar beautiful face and soul hooking white eyes, and explosive body that he would instantly recognise anytime by just looking at its shadow, and the most eye-catching three cute white fox tails.
It was Fengxu!
After just a few seconds of maintaining eye contact, Fengxu finally broke the silence. She let out a joyous cry as she rushed toward Leon, not minding that he was in his cat form.
"Master!" Fengxu called out. She reached Leon and went on her knees with speed before sweeping Leon off the ground and hugging his small cat body against her breasts.
"I knew it was you, I recognised your scent instantly!" Fengxu smiled widely while squeezing Leon against her breasts; the fox princess was clearly too excited to notice that she had half-buried Leon in between her tits.
Leon tried to speak up as he struggled in her soft molds but everything that came out of his mouth were cat sounds.
Left with no choice, he let out a burst of Shi and forced Fengxu to let go of him. He immediately leapt away and changed into his human form after the fox released her grip. Discover hidden stories at My Virtual Library Empire
"W-what's wrong?" Fengxu asked worriedly after seeing Leon using Shi to get away from her, her face looked like she was about to cry.
Of course, Leon didn't use enough Shi that would hurt Fengxu, she was just reacting this way because she was sad that Leon was trying so hard to get away.
"Don't cry, don't cry. It's nothing serious, you were hugging me too hard and couldn't breathe." Leon hurriedly explained upon seeing her expression. He moved closer to her and slowly rubbed her hair.
"Really?" Fengxu looked up at him with teary eyes.
What do you think?
