Chapter 37 The Academy
I was now dressed in casual clothing, nothing too fancy, as I took the bag containing the rest of my clothes downstairs; the bag contained ten pairs of clothes.
My mum was already waiting for me beside the carriage that would take me to the academy. My dad wasn't around, but it didn't bother me since I was sure I was going to see him.
I stood beside the carriage in front of my mum, waiting for her to say something, but instead, she stared at me for a while and hugged me.
"I want you to do well" she muttered in my ears and hugged me for half a minute before letting go.
"I'll miss you and everyone," I muttered as I turned towards the House where all the maids were standing there, including Anna, and I waved towards them, wishing them goodbye. Then I saw Lilith and a thought crossed my mind as I stepped inside the carriage.
"Goodbye," my mum spoke as the carriage began moving.
What crossed my thoughts after seeing Lilith was that with my perfect copy, I could copy both skills and spells. Then, if I slept with Lilith, I would be able to copy one of the beast god techniques.
But I'm sure I won't be able to pull it off like Lilith. Lilith was far stronger and faster than I currently was, and most importantly, beast god techniques were meant for beastkin and not humans.
But that was just one of their techniques; I'm sure there's another that would be easier for a human to do.
The carriage was moving at a steady pace, and I opened the window slightly so I could see the surrounding area. I didn't go out much, so I had no way of knowing where I was, but I had an idea of how long it would take to reach the academy.
The princess told me there wasn't a single male in the class I was joining, meaning all the females would definitely go after me, but even though there was a male, I'm sure I'd still get the majority of the female's attention.
Another female I have my eyes on was the first one who fought with Gabriel. I still had no idea what her skill was, but she was able to get him to stop moving entirely, and that would be a skill I would love to have.
Also, the petite girl that spoke to her, her name was Mia; I didn't really notice her till she spoke to me...wait, I watched all the fights and I didn't see her.
I sat in the carriage, immersed in my thoughts, when the carriage stopped, and I realized we were already in front of the academy.
I got out of the carriage, and the rider waved me goodbye; it was the same rider who begged me not to let my mum fire him.
The academy doors were opened, and there wasn't a guard in sight; I guess it wasn't needed since a barrier was around the academy.
I already knew where the training area was, so I went there. I could see all the girls already gathered there, but at least I wasn't the last to arrive as I could see more students coming behind me.
As soon as I arrived, I could see all the girls already staring at me, not that I minded, but I didn't like it all that much.
Ten minutes had passed since I first arrived, and it seemed we were already complete. The instructor said she'd accept half of the students, which was 100 back then during the test, but here there were only about 40 or slightly more than 40 students.
All the students began arranging themselves, and I turned around and saw the brown-haired instructor heading towards us.
She stood in front of us staring at all our faces before speaking.
"I'll be training you for a year; you can call me Miss Sofia; follow me," she spoke and turned around, walking away.
I guess she wasn't that great a talker, but at least I knew she was powerful, and she was going to train us for a year, meaning after a year, another instructor was going to take over.
All the students followed her behind, and only the sounds of footsteps could be heard. Finally, we passed through a large gate that led to the dorms.
A large building was in front of us, and the word dorm was spelled on a sign in front; at the side of the dorm was another training area, and this one was way larger than the other.
It had straw-made dolls that held a sword and a shield; I heard about dolls like this that were used to train; if magic was infused in the doll, it was able to move its hands and parry or block attacks.
It could rotate effortlessly, providing a full 360-degree view, ensuring no one could ever approach unnoticed, but for trained swordsmen, it was a simple challenge since the doll couldn't move from its initial location.
"There are 160 mages here already and there are 40 rooms meaning each room already has 4 people living there, and there are 41 of you, so one room would have six people"
"You're not here to be comfortable, you're here to train, and since there's a male here, any inappropriate behavior would be punished; you'll know when It's time for training," the instructor spoke and walked away.
What the hell was that six people in one single room? I just hope I'm not unlucky.
All the students went inside the dorm, and I followed behind. Inside, a woman was seated behind a desk, and she had some wooden tags laid on the table.@@novelbin@@
"Take one each," she spoke, and the students began picking up the tags. I picked the last one, and on the tag, the number 19 was written.
I figured room 19 was mine, so I headed upstairs with the other students. The hallway had rooms lined up on either side and since my number was 19, I knew it would be at the far end. I kept walking until I reached the edge of the hallway.
The number 19 was written in front of the hallway and I stepped inside, and the first thing I noticed was six beds.
What do you think?
