Chapter 593: Chapter 593: Help Him Apply Medication

Chi Enen had just ordered breakfast at the restaurant before she went upstairs.

As soon as she arrived, @@novelbin@@

she was startled by the man with black eyes tinged with bloodshot red waiting at the entryway, “Li Beijue?”

Wasn’t he busy working in the study room? Why was he standing here, and looking so pale? Who had upset him?

Upon closer inspection, she involuntarily gasped, her eyebrows suddenly knitting together as she grabbed his left hand, “What happened to your hand?”

The back of his left hand was truly a ghastly sight; some areas had the flesh turned inside out, others were still embedded with glass residue. It was evident he had recently lost his temper.

...

Had he encountered some issues with work to have such an explosive outburst?

“Hand?” Li Beijue had been intently staring at her ever since she entered the door, as if he intended to burn a hole through her with his gaze.

It was only when Chi Enen grabbed his left hand that he finally glanced down at his own hand, a flicker of concealed anger in his eyes, “It’s nothing. I’ll bandage it up later.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than he changed his mind, staring at Chi Enen’s face and suddenly said, “Chi Enen, you help me bandage it.”

“Me?”

Chi Enen hadn’t even stated whether she was willing or not when he made the decision on his own, pulling her by the hand towards the living room, then fetched the family medical kit from a drawer and placed it in front of Chi Enen. With falcon-like eyes, he stretched out the injured hand as if he were a big master, “Help me with the bandaging.”

Chi Enen, having grown accustomed to his impulsive nature, resignedly opened the medicine cabinet and said, “You better sit down on the sofa first, you’re too tall standing up; it’s difficult for me to work on it.”

The tall man, unexpectedly compliant, sat down.

From inside the medical kit, Chi Enen found tweezers, iodine, and gauze and set them aside. Then she bent down, took his hand, and carefully checked the injury, her frown deepening, “It doesn’t seem like the tendons or bones are affected, but there’s glass inside. I need to remove these fragments first, or they could cause the wound to worsen over time.”

Chi Enen couldn’t understand how the glass got there, but without asking further, she began using the tweezers to pick out the pieces of glass from his hand one by one.

Extracting the glass was a meticulous task, especially since all the fragments on the back of his hand were deep set into the flesh.

With each fragment Chi Enen removed using the tweezers, she felt a pang of pain.

The further she progressed, the smaller and more difficult the glass pieces became to extract.

In a short while, a fine layer of sweat appeared on her forehead. Eyes cast downward, she concentrated all her attention on the man’s injured hand, handling it as gently as possible for fear of causing him pain.

It was no easy task, but she finally finished picking out the glass. Chi Enen set down the tweezers, picked up the iodine, and softly reminded him, “This might sting a bit, try to bear with it.”

“Okay.”

She gritted her teeth, poured iodine over the wound on the back of his hand, and began using a cotton swab to clean it.

The wound was rather severe; without thorough cleaning, it might become infected.

Chi Enen meticulously cleaned his wound, and the man who’d been rather agitated previously now quieted down. His gaze remained on her, and although using iodine on the wound must have been painful, he didn’t even blink, watching her intently the whole time.

As he watched her, Li Beijue noticed a subtle change in his abdomen.

His Adam’s Apple moved as he let his gaze drift downwards, landing on her apparently flat stomach that seemed no different from any other woman’s.

It was as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head, the burning heat in his lower abdomen froze instantly.

No, she was less than two months pregnant; they couldn’t for three months at least!

Li Beijue’s brows were so furrowed they could have trapped a fly.

Heaven knows how much he wanted to press this woman onto the bed and take her fiercely! Only by taking her fiercely could he calm his heart!
