Chapter 24 - 24 22 Divine Doctor and Swindler 3
Chapter 24: Chapter 22: Divine Doctor and Swindler 3 Chapter 24: Chapter 22: Divine Doctor and Swindler 3 Qin Qin concentrated on applying acupuncture to Tang Xin, and during the turning of the needles, she injected a trace of Mysterious Spirit Qi into Tang Xin. Actually, Tang Xin’s condition didn’t require the use of Mysterious Spirit Qi, but this time, Qin Qin wanted to test the extent of her own Spiritual Energy’s effects.
Lying on the bed the entire time, Tang Xin’s severe abdominal pain gradually eased until finally, she felt a warm current swirling inside her belly, so soothing that she cried out. She knew her baby was likely saved.
Through her tear-blurred eyes, Tang Xin gazed gratefully at Qin Qin.
“Xin’er, why are you crying? Does your belly hurt that much? I knew this girl couldn’t possibly heal people.” As soon as Mother Tang saw her daughter crying, she came forward with a heart full of pain, ready to scold Qin Qin.
“No, Mom, I’m fine, I’m really fine. My belly doesn’t hurt at all now, really, Qin Qin, her medical skills are very good.”
Tang Xin stopped her tears and stared at her parents and Jing Feng who surrounded her.
“Is it…really not hurting anymore?” Mother Tang still couldn’t believe it and turned her gaze to where Qin Qin was, only to see that Qin Qin had already withdrawn her hands and seemed to be wiping the sweat from her forehead, looking tired as she looked toward the three of them.
“Yes, really, it’s not hurting! Mom, Dad, Jing Feng, my baby is fine now.” Tang Xin, unable to suppress the excitement in her heart, directly grabbed Qin Qin’s hand, “Is my baby…saved?!”
Qin Qin nodded, feeling an exhaustion as if she had expended all her strength, the first time she used Mysterious Spirit Qi. However, the results were not bad; while normal acupuncture might have taken half an hour, her application of Spiritual Energy took less than ten minutes.
“Madam, your child is saved.”
“What do you mean ‘saved’? Could there still be a problem…?” Jing Feng rushed forward anxiously to ask, eagerness in his eyes.
Qin Qin stood up, looking at the three of them, “There will be no problem, but if Madam does not follow my instructions in the future, I cannot guarantee the child will be born safely.”
“We will definitely do as you say. You must help my daughter.” In that moment, Mr. Tang also nodded eagerly.
“Of course, but now I need you to prepare a brush and paper for me, as I need to prescribe some medicine for Madam.” She was not yet adept at using this world’s ballpoint pens, so she asked them to prepare a brush instead.
“Yes, yes, I will have someone prepare it right away.” Jing Feng hid his inner excitement and quickly instructed a servant to prepare the pen and paper.
Upon hearing that Jing Feng and the others actually believed in this girl, Dr. Song couldn’t keep his composure anymore and stepped forward, “Mr. Jing, how can you believe in such a young girl? She must be messing around. I advise you to take Madam to the hospital for a checkup.”
“Heh, messing around, Dr. Song? Do you judge someone’s medical skills based on their age?”
Before Jing Feng could react, Qin Qin already stepped forward, locking eyes with Dr. Song with a stern look, “As far as I can see, Dr. Song, you’re only in your forties, so your medical skills can’t be that good either. You lacked the ability to save Madam’s baby, and that’s on you. A person without ability has no right to speak carelessly here, or be careful, something might happen.”
Dr. Song glared at Qin Qin angrily, “You impudent girl, you think you can be so presumptuous here? I suggest you admit your mistake early; perhaps Mr. Jing and the others will forgive your ignorance.”
“Ignorance, heh, if I’m ignorant, then Dr. Song, you must be ‘nobody’, lacking regard for anyone else.” Those indifferent, mocking words came from Qin Qin’s mouth.
Mr. Tang sized up Qin Qin, seeing her in plain, even somewhat worn clothing, and felt puzzled. Could a girl from an ordinary family be so sharp?
“Enough. Dr. Song, Qin Qin is also my guest. Please be mindful, Aunt Zhang, have Uncle Zhang see Dr. Song out.” Tang Xin interjected before Dr. Song could speak again.
Aunt Zhang placed the brush, ink, paper, and inkstone on the room’s coffee table and nodded as she saw Dr. Song out.
Dr. Song gnashed his teeth and left without looking back.
“Sorry about that, don’t mind it, I believe you.” Tang Xin said, smiling at Qin Qin.
Qin Qin gave a faint smile and walked toward the side tea table, picked up a brush, dipped it in ink, and wrote the prescription she was preparing on the paper as smoothly as flowing clouds and running water.
Mr. Tang watched Qin Qin, who was lowering her head attentively and writing the prescription as if no one else was present. He stepped forward, and upon seeing the characters she was writing, he exclaimed loudly, “Good, such good handwriting!”
Lifting his head, Mr. Tang stared incredulously at Qin Qin, who continued to write the prescription, revealing a sense of disbelief in his eyes.
He had not expected that this girl, who appeared to be only in her teens, could write such powerful and majestic calligraphy. Every stroke and line was smooth and fluid, with crisp delineation of sharp angles, inspiring admiration in others.
Although he was not an expert in calligraphy, he would practice brush writing in his free time, and he even had a friend who was a calligrapher.
This girl was no ordinary person.
At that moment, Mr. Tang put away his somewhat contemptuous gaze and sized up Qin Qin again, only to see that she radiated a quiet grace, her demeanor elegant yet noble, and within that nobility, a sense of distance, like a lotus standing tall and erect, to be admired from afar but not to be casually trifled with.
A minute later, Qin Qin put down her brush, picked up the paper, and handed it to Jing Feng, “Take this prescription and get it filled. Boil three bowls of water down to one, drink three times daily, and after seven days, drink three times more, until the child is three months old, then come back to me for a new prescription.”
Jing Feng took it and quickly sent a servant to fill the prescription, while he expressed his gratitude to Qin Qin, “Dr. Qin, I apologize for our earlier rudeness toward you; I hope you won’t take it to heart. I am entrusting my wife to your care.”
The corners of Qin Qin’s mouth curved slightly as she gave Jing Feng a careful look, “All of this gratitude, you should reserve for yourselves. It also counts that your wife and Mr. Jing have done many good deeds, allowing you to meet me by the will of the heavens.”
If she had not seen in a vision that both of them had dedicated their lives to doing good deeds in the first and later parts of their lives, she would not have taken it so seriously.
Helping them was also a way of accruing good karma for herself.
“Dr. Qin, it was I who failed to recognize a true talent earlier; please don’t hold it against me,” Mother Tang stepped forward and affectionately took Qin Qin’s hand, sizing her up closely, “Dr. Qin is truly beautiful, such flawless skin, not a single imperfection to be seen.”
“Let Dr. Qin sit down first, she must be tired. We can talk about everything else once she’s seated,” Mr. Tang said.
Hearing Mr. Tang’s words, Mother Tang smiled and led Qin Qin to sit down on a sofa inside the room.
Mr. Tang, Jing Feng, and Tang Xin, who had risen and walked up to Jing Feng, also took their seats on the sofas.
The servants placed the tea on the coffee table.
Qin Qin picked up the tea, took a gentle sip, but slightly furrowed her brows.
Seeing this, Jing Feng quickly asked, “Dr. Qin, do you not like this tea?”
Qin Qin shook her head, setting the teacup down, “Mr. Jing’s tea is indeed good, but the water used for brewing is substandard, and the brewing method is incorrect.”
“Oh, I had no idea Dr. Qin was such a connoisseur,” Mr. Tang asked Qin Qin with interest.
“I wouldn’t say a connoisseur; I just have a fondness for tea,” Qin Qin responded modestly.
What Qin Qin said was the truth; the tea she had enjoyed in the past was imperial tribute tea, which even the royal family might not possess, all gifts from her patients to honor her.
Qin Qin had a particular fondness for tea and, thus, was quite particular about it.
What do you think?
