Chapter 195 - 195 196 Chen Yanrans Miscarriage
Chapter 195: Chapter 196: Chen Yanran’s Miscarriage Chapter 195: Chapter 196: Chen Yanran’s Miscarriage Yingying lowered her head and hooked her lips into a smile, “I’m just giving her a taste of her own medicine. Look at yourself now, how pitiful you’ve become.
Your reputation is gone, and you’ve lost your child; what will you do from now on?”
The misery for Chen Yanran wasn’t over yet; she now had the label of a loose woman, and all the ruffians and rogues in the village would be eying her.
Upon hearing these words, Chen Yanran’s face twisted with fury, and she shouted angrily, “Xu Ying, I’ll kill you.”
As her voice faded, Chen Yanran spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and fainted.
Xu Ying stood up just as the doctor arrived, carrying Chen Yanran onto a stretcher and into the ambulance.
Withdrawing from the crowd, Xu Ying saw Dong Wenzhong, and with a charming smile pondered to herself that there was still more to do with Dong Wenzhong. She couldn’t return to the city yet; there were still more ways to torment him!
Dong Wenzhong shuddered involuntarily under her gaze, his intuition telling him that Chen Yanran’s misfortune was certainly linked to Xu Ying.
“People talking about what a mess this all is; Chen Yanran was pregnant with a child that wasn’t Xu Xiangdong’s. Who would have thought that such a seemingly innocent girl could be so wild behind closed doors!”
“Exactly, appearances can be deceiving. Normally this girl looks so delicate, who would have imagined her lifestyle was so disordered.”
Whispers rippled through the gathered onlookers.
Xu Xiangdong’s face alternated between shades of green and white. He had thought he was finally marrying the woman he loved, even estranging himself from his mother for it, but in the end, it had all been for nothing.
It was all his own wishful thinking, even the child in Chen Yanran’s womb wasn’t his.
How disgusting she was!
In the hospital, when Chen Yanran regained consciousness, her stomach was empty. She touched it and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
She hadn’t wanted the child initially and had only thought of trapping Xu Xiangdong and marrying him.
She had planned to have Xu Ying accidentally cause the child’s death and burden her with murder, but since that river-jumping incident, Xu Ying had become a different person, working at a restaurant, bringing in business, and then working in the food factory’s R&D department.
She had even brought a workshop to the village and was gaining a good reputation; it wasn’t easy for Chen Yanran to even see Xu Ying anymore, barely managing to wait until Xu Ying’s wedding.
Chen Yanran thought Xu Ying would have to show up this time, but she couldn’t have expected her to come with such a big scheme.
Chen Yanran closed her eyes in indignation. Her life shouldn’t have turned out this way.
Having lost her child, Chen Yanran stayed in the hospital for a few days, but was quickly kicked out when she couldn’t pay the medical bills.
Back in the village, Chen Yanran sought out Xu Xiangdong, but he, foolish as he might be, wouldn’t accept a woman who had slept with a bunch of men, the mere thought repulsed him.
Chen Yanran and Xu Xiangdong were officially broken up.
Some old bachelors and idlers in the village began to look at Chen Yanran whenever they pleased.
“She’s already been with so many men, a few more won’t make a difference.”
“That’s right, stop acting so high and mighty, you’re just garbage, us wanting to sleep with you should be taken as a compliment.”
Xu Ying quickly packed her things and started working at the food factory.
As for the person who had wronged her father in her past life, Xu Ying felt perhaps she was too selfish; she couldn’t forgive that person and continued to secretly send people to observe the every move of the educated youth.
If that person managed to return to the city in this life, she’d feel remorse and let go of her grudge; but if that person failed to return and had instead caused the deaths of her father, older brother, mother, sister-in-law, and unborn niece, she would never forgive them.
The day Xu Ying left, Mrs. Xu’s face was streaked with tears: “You’ve only been home for a short while, and now you’re going back to work already.
Our whole family has jobs now; we don’t need the money you earn. Why don’t you just stay home and rest?
Besides, Chinese New Year is coming up; you won’t be out for long before you have to come back. It might be better to just stay home and celebrate the New Year.”
Mrs. Xu simply couldn’t bear to let her daughter leave.
Looking at Mrs. Xu, Xu Ying gently wiped the tears from her mother’s eyes: “Mom, I’ll only be gone for half a month and I’ll be back for the New Year, it’s not a long time until we see each other again.”
“Just stay at home and I’ll be back in half a month.”
Mrs. Xu sniffled, her face full of sadness.
Mr. Xu patted his wife’s back, comforting her, “Our daughter will be back soon, not gone long. Look at you, all upset like this. You’ll make our daughter worry.”
When Mrs. Xu heard this, she immediately stopped crying. Her daughter was cooking in the kitchen, and if she became distracted, what if she cut her hand?
“Daughter, then off you go, see you,” Mrs. Xu waved her hand, watching her daughter leave.
Ever since the day of their departure, Huo Chen had been in a huff with Xu Ying, waiting for Xu Ying to come and find him.
To his surprise, she left without seeking him out, leaving Huo Chen filled with unvented grievances.
Once Xu Ying left, he mounted his bike and chased after her.
“Xu Ying!”
“Huo Chen.” Xu Ying’s face lit up with surprise; she hadn’t expected him to come looking for her.
“Do you not like me?” Huo Chen asked with a cold face, although his fingers nervously sweated.
Xu Ying quickly shook her head, “Of course I like you, that’s why I’m with you.”
“Then why didn’t you come find me? If I didn’t come looking for you, would you have never sought me out?” Huo Chen’s eyes held sorrow, but he maintained an icy demeanor.
“I got busy and forgot!” Xu Ying blinked rapidly, feeling somewhat guilty.
She liked him, of course, but perhaps it wasn’t deep, passionate love.
Huo Chen stayed silent, his back on the bike exuding chilliness.
Xu Ying hurried to catch up, riding alongside him, cautiously consoling, “Don’t be mad, okay? I won’t do it again next time.”
Huo Chen’s lips lifted into a smirk, then immediately returned to a blank expression, “Really?”
“Really,” Xu Ying said seriously.
Huo Chen turned back, feeling ecstatic inside.
They rode their bicycles side by side, and what would have been over an hour’s journey felt like it passed in the blink of an eye.
Xu Ying had no luggage to bring. To make it up to Huo Chen, she planned to report to her destination early the next morning.
Hearing that she was postponing her work until tomorrow for his sake, Huo Chen grew even happier, taking it as a sign that Yingying indeed liked him.
First, they went to the market, buying meat and vegetables before heading home.
“Let’s go, I’ll cook for you,” Xu Ying said cheerfully.
Huo Chen followed her into the yard, then to the kitchen, “I’ll help you.”
Xu Ying didn’t refuse his offer—after all, a man should be put to use, “Alright then, help me wash the vegetables, and slice the meat.”
Huo Chen obediently went to wash and cut the vegetables, as well as the meat.
Xu Ying just stood beside, watching his profile. Such a handsome man, how had she been so blind in her last life to chase after Dong Wenzhong?
As Huo Chen turned around, he saw her smiling face so close, catching sight of her red lips glistening, his mind instantly adrift.
Xu Ying hadn’t expected him to turn suddenly, her heart racing as she felt his presence close by.
“You.” Just as Xu Ying opened her mouth, Huo Chen leaned down and sealed her lips with his, kissing her gently, soon exploring more deeply.
Xu Ying looked at him in astonishment, her hands involuntarily clutching at her collar.
What do you think?
