However, just at that moment, Li Qigou’s flock of sheep suddenly stopped, as if sensing something.
Dozens of sheep turned their necks simultaneously, looking in one direction.
Every sheep wore a face of terror.
As if they had seen something horrifying.
Li Qigou had no idea what was happening.
He followed the sheep’s gaze.
It was the center of the reservoir.
Yet, as he stared for a long time, the center of the reservoir was calm; there was nothing there.
Just as Li Qigou was about to disregard it and continue herding the sheep toward the southern mountain,
his expression froze instantly.
He saw it!
He saw it!
The surface of the water in the center of the reservoir was still.
But beneath the water, Li Qigou shockingly saw an enormous black shadow pass swiftly.
It was too big, even though it wasn’t fully light yet.
Li Qigou was certain he wasn’t seeing things, as he saw the enormous creature’s back shimmering with glowing scales.
Although he didn’t know what it was, Li Qigou was terrified.
He dared not linger near the reservoir.
He was about to shepherd the flock away,
but it was already too late.
The huge shadow from the reservoir surged toward Li Qigou like a spear.
“Whoosh!”
Accompanied by the sudden explosive sounds from the water, an unimaginably gigantic figure split the massive surface of the reservoir and, under the dim light of dawn, revealed its tremendous true form to Li Qigou.
Its huge eyes emitted a mysterious purple light, like two giant purple lanterns staring at Li Qigou.
Li Qigou was petrified.
He fell on his butt, having never seen such a massive creature in his life.
Let alone staring into the eyes of the monster.
But the more Li Qigou looked into the monster’s eyes, the more he felt something was amiss.
A terrifying thought rose in his heart.
From the creature’s eyes, he decoded something known as ‘thought.’
This was an intelligent monster!
Yet the massive creature did not harm Li Qigou.
It seemed to have little interest in humans.
It quickly shifted its gaze to Li Qigou’s sheep.
Then, in front of Li Qigou, it slowly extended its head and snatched away one of his sheep.
The sheep had no chance to struggle against the monster, whose full extent couldn’t be seen.
With just one bite, the giant head could swallow a sheep whole.
After stealing the sheep right in front of Li Qigou,
it seemed unsatisfied and dragged two more into its belly.
It then contentedly retreated back into the water of the reservoir and disappeared.
Li Qigou was out of his mind with fear.
He left his sheep by the reservoir and ran back to the village, tumbling and crawling.
Just as he set foot inside his own home,
behind him, in the valleys on either side of Wanjiang Reservoir, a purple bolt of Heavenly Thunder cracked the sky.
It split the entire sky into countless fragments.
Across the entire Wanjiang Reservoir, torrential rain began to pour.
Then, all the villagers saw a gigantic monster, seizing the last of the night’s darkness.
It emerged from the reservoir, slowly moving past the edge of the village, accompanied by a strong, fishy smell, and entered into the valley.
On that day, Wanjiang Reservoir faced the largest mudslide in a century.
In a single day, there was an extreme torrential rainfall of 270 millimeters, causing the water level to soar.
The whole country was alerted; manpower and resources were sent!
To aid Wanjiang City.
