Chapter 6197: The Shahun Clan’s Secret Art

Chapter 6197: The Shahun Clan’s Secret Art

“Hm?”

Chu Feng suddenly narrowed his eyes.

Lightning continued to fall, but Shahun Haotian had disappeared. His bloodline power, which enveloped a vast area, also vanished. All that was left in the sky were dark clouds and lightning bolts.

It was as if Shahun Haotian had never been here.

Chu Feng dissipated the lightning and the clouds with a wave of his sleeves. His spirit power also flowed back into his formation.

The battle was over.

…

A transparent sphere floated before the woman in a white dress and the black-robed woman.

Shahun Haotian lay inside the transparent sphere, his body charred and his mouth spurting fresh blood nonstop. He was severely injured.

However, the transparent sphere’s energy was healing his injuries.

His charred skin swiftly peeled off, replaced with newly-grown skin. His complexion was also swiftly improving. It didn’t take long for him to be all healed up. The transparent sphere then shattered, and he descended smoothly to the ground.

But Shahun Haotian looked at the woman in a white dress with eyes filled with indignation instead of gratitude, grumbling, “That’s unfair.”

“What’s unfair?” the woman in a white dress asked.

“A normal battlefield wouldn’t be that vast. Milord, you chose that battlefield to give Chu Feng room to escape. You forced me to excessively unleash my bloodline power to capture him to create an opportunity for him to defeat me. Chu Feng might not know much about our Shahun Clan, but you must have known better. Isn’t this unfair?” Shahun Haotian questioned angrily.

He felt that the woman in a white dress was secretly siding with Chu Feng.

“Watch your attitude, Shahun Haotian. Do you know who you are addressing?” The black-robed woman’s eyes turned hostile, and her killing intent crept out.

Shahun Haotian shuddered in fear. That brought sense back to him, and he immediately regretted what he had just said in a fit of anger.

The woman in a white dress was a legendary expert whom their entire clan dared not to offend.

“You had the decisive advantage in the battle. You chose on your own accord to unleash your bloodline power. Do Shahun Clansmen dare not own up to their own mistakes?” the woman in a white dress asked.

“But I…”

Shahun Haotian dared not run his mouth anymore now that he had regained his composure, but he still held onto the opinion that he wouldn’t have lost if not for the battlefield being too big.@@novelbin@@

“That battle was unfair, but it was unfair not to you but to Chu Feng. Chu Feng’s original fighting prowess is not beneath yours, and he could have further raised his cultivation by a rank.”

Shahun Haotian was shocked. If those words were true, he didn’t stand a chance at all.

“Shahun Haotian, you should have some grasp of Chu Feng’s strength after having crossed blows with him. Let me ask you a question. If the two of you were at the same cultivation rank, but your fighting prowess is weaker than Chu Feng’s due to your bloodline power being suppressed, do you think you could have figured out a way to defeat him?”

Shahun Haotian looked at Chu Feng, who was in the desert, via the formation. He suddenly felt an unprecedented feeling of defeat.

To be honest, he couldn’t even say for sure whether Chu Feng had more tricks up his sleeves. He couldn’t help but wonder if he had, at any point, been in control of the battle. Even the times he seemed to have the upper hand could have been Chu Feng’s ploy to mislead him.

And this was despite Chu Feng being the weaker one here.

If he had been the weaker one here… he couldn’t even see a glimmer of hope.

At this point, his indignation finally dissipated as he admitted his defeat.

“The Shahun Clan has protected you too well. You may have been through many trials, but you never had to worry about getting severely injured or dying. Can such trials be considered trials?

“Things are different for Chu Feng. He has to give it his all for every enemy he encounters, for failure comes with the real risk of death. This is the difference between you and Chu Feng,” the woman in a white dress said.

A spirit formation gate leading to the Asura Spirit World opened. The woman in a white dress was sending Shahun Haotian back.

But Shahun Haotian didn’t enter the spirit formation gate right away. Instead, he walked up to the woman in a white dress and took out a black scroll emanating a black aura. This scroll was not a physical item; it was made out of special energy,

“I have lost. Milord, as per the agreement, I’ll hand our clan’s secret art to you,” Shahun Haotian presented the scroll with both hands and a lowered head.

The woman in a white dress took the scroll as she remarked with a chuckle, “Your grandfather is going to be infuriated.”

This scroll was extremely important to the Shahun Clan. They adamantly refused to hand it over to her, which was why she had to come up with this bet in the first place.

“My grandfather accepted the bet because he didn’t think I would lose, but a loss is still a loss. Our Shahun Clan isn’t a sore loser. Milord, my grandfather invites you and that lord to have some tea in our clan when you’re free. He will welcome the two of you with top-grade soul tea,” Shahun Haotian said.

“Tell your grandfather we’ll be there,” the woman in a white dress replied.

“Milord, I’ll be taking my leave.”

Shahun Haotian turned around and made his way toward the spirit formation gate. Before entering the spirit formation gate, he turned backward to look at Chu Feng via the observation formation.

He initially felt conflicted, but seconds later, his eyes hardened with determination as if he had come to a resolution. Then, he stepped into the spirit formation gate.

The black-robed woman walked up to the woman in a white dress. She glanced at the scroll in delight.

Inscribed in red on the black scroll were the words ‘Bloodline Soul Puppet’.

“This thing is the Shahun Clan’s foundation. I wonder if Shahun Haotian will be punished for losing it,” the black-robed woman said.

“I don’t know whether Shahun Haotian will be punished, but today’s matter must have been a huge blow to him. He might try to break free of the Shahun Clan’s protection and change how he trains from now onward,” the woman in a white dress said.

“Milord, this scroll has been exclusive to the Shuhun Clan, but even so, their clansmen had to clear many difficult trials to prove that they are qualified for it. Only the most talented prodigy in each era has a shot at it. Are you sure you want to hand something this valuable to Chu Feng?” the black-robed woman asked.

“He won it, so it’s only right for it to go to him. This secret art will be highly beneficial to him… though he will have to clear the final trial to prove himself qualified for it. Let’s begin the next stage of the trial,” the woman in a white dress declared.

Control over the Immemorial Massacre Sea was returned to the black-robed woman.
