Master of Lust

Chapter 256 A damsell unimpressed

Chapter - 256

Sharon's face was hung in disappointment and she was fuming in anger at herself being unable to get anything on Rick. She was more furious that Rick was able to make a fool out of her. Moments before she was filled with confidence that she will absolutely catch Rick red handed, but now all her confidence had vanished.

She hurriedly marched towards her Harley, as she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. After this embarrassment, she was unable to stand the dull and despicable atmosphere anymore. She entered her keys to her Harley and tried to start it. The engine made a grunt, and then died. She tried again and again for a few times but the engine was in no mood to roar. Frustrated, she started cursing.

Rick came out of the building and was greeted with Sharon's frustration. He moved in closer trying to figure out what was happening. As he slowly took his footsteps, he could see Sharon's face clearly. Before this he had seen her in helmets and inside the building, he could not see anything clearly. Each step he took towards Sharon, her face was becoming more and more visible to him.

Golden blond hair falling just above her well sized tushy, her face was long and round, her eyes a striking shade of grey, a sharp and long nose, and juicy and pompous lips, filled with a dark shade of red.

"Damn! Her face is as good as her body!", Rick remarked as his gaze devoured her body. Her bosoms firm and medium, her waist chiselled and athletic, and her buttocks were of the perfect size, which any man would die for, and her long legs complimented her bombastic body.

Rick's eyes lingered on her when the system screen popped up.@@novelbin@@

Rick, with his usual laid-back demeanour, closed the distance and spoke up. "Looks like luck isn't on your side today, huh?" He smirked, watching her tense slightly. "First, you failed to catch me, or better yet, fell right into my trap. And now this... your motorcycle's given up on you too. Whose face did you see this morning?"

Sharon shot him a sharp look; her annoyance clear.

Rick grinned wider. "Don't tell me you looked in the mirror—there's no way a face as beautiful as yours can be that unlucky."

He nodded towards the bike. "Need any help?"

Sharon glared at Rick, her fingers still gripping the handlebars of her bike as she tried again to kick-start it. The engine sputtered and died, mocking her effort. She dismissed Rick, she didn't need help from him of all people. But as the engine refused to cooperate, the look of determination on her face began to falter, replaced by a hint of hopelessness.

Rick didn't miss a beat. "You know, I've got a guy nearby who can fix this." Without waiting for her reply, he dialled a number. He exchanged a few quick words with someone on the other end of the line, his voice relaxed. Hanging up, he turned back to Sharon. "Don't worry, he'll be here in a few minutes."

Sharon stared at him, her emotions a mess of surprise and frustration. Here he was—the man she had been tailing, trying to get evidence on, the one who had tricked her and left her feeling like a fool. She'd been intent on arresting him, catching him in something dirty. And now? Now he was standing here, casually calling in help for her, as if they weren't on opposite sides.

Her mind whirled with the absurdity of it all. Why was he helping her? Why wasn't he leaving, or at least gloating more?

After a few moments, a man pulled up in a beat-up pickup truck. He glanced at Rick and gave a casual nod before moving towards Sharon's motorcycle. The man looked Sharon up and down, a smirk forming on his face. "What, did you flood it with tears, sweetheart? Bikes are a bit tricky for girls, huh?" he said with a snicker.

Sharon's frown deepened, clearly annoyed. But before she could respond, Rick stepped forward, his voice dropping in warning. "Watch it, dumbass" he said, his tone sharp. "She's a cop you brainless moron. You think it is a good idea to show how much of an idiot to her?"

The man's smirk instantly vanished. His eyes widened in realization as he glanced nervously between Rick and Sharon. "I—uh, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean any disrespect, officer. I didn't mean anything at all. You see- I uh… I have a habit of running my mouth and letting out any garbage that come to my mind… I will fix your bike for free."

His voice was shaky, the bravado gone as he tried to convey his sincerity. Sharon raised an eyebrow at his sudden change in demeanour, but she shook her head firmly. "No need for that. Just fix it, and we'll settle the bill like normal." Find more adventures on My Virtual Library Empire

His posture stiffened, and he immediately focused on the motorcycle, avoiding eye contact with Sharon. After inspecting it for a few moments, he stood up and said, "Looks like the fuel line's clogged, and there's some issue with the spark plugs. I can fix it up, but I'll need to take it back to my shop. It'll be ready in about an hour."

Sharon's frustration deepened as the mechanic said he'd need to take the bike to his shop. Her eyes narrowed. She didn't want to part with her Harley.

Rick noticed her hesitation. "Relax, he's not as much of an idiot as he acts," Rick said with a casual shrug. "He's actually a damn good mechanic. I was planning on having the scratches on my Rover fixed at his shop when I get the time. Plus, now that he knows you're a cop, he won't dare pull anything."

Sharon still looked unconvinced.

The mechanic, sensing her reluctance, raised his hands in a calming gesture. "Hey, how about this—you can come with me to the shop? Watch the whole thing. I'll have your bike fixed up in no time, and you can take it right after I'm done. There's a coffee shop nearby if you want to wait there, too."

Before Sharon could make up her mind, Rick moved to help the mechanic lift the Harley onto the pickup truck. After securing the bike, Rick dusted off his hands and turned to Sharon.

"Why don't you ride with me?" Rick offered, a smirk playing on his lips. "I'll take you to the shop."

Sharon scoffed, crossing her arms. "I'd rather ride with the mechanic, thanks," she shot back. The idea of sharing a car with the man she was supposed to be investigating left her feeling uneasy, especially after their earlier encounter. His cocky demeanour only added to the discomfort.

As Sharon made her way toward the passenger side of the truck, she paused as she got a closer look at the interior. The seats were littered with cigarette butts, and the floor was cluttered with old, empty soda cans. The mechanic, already seated inside, reached over and opened the door for her, but the moment he did, a pungent mix of stale cigarette smoke and the sour stench of old soda hit her hard.

Her nose scrunched up in disgust, and she instinctively stepped back, eyes narrowing as she tried to suppress the urge to gag.

Rick, who had been watching the scene unfold, smirked knowingly. "Still want to travel with him?" he asked, his voice carrying a teasing edge. "I told you, you might want to reconsider."

It was clear from Sharon's expression that she had no desire to ride with the mechanic. But even though the stench from the truck had made her decision easier, she still hesitated about getting into Rick's car. Her eyes darted between the truck and Rick's Range Rover, frustration mounting as she weighed her options.

Rick, leaning casually against the side of his car, noticed her hesitation. "You planning to walk all the way, then?" he remarked with a smirk. "This isn't exactly the kind of neighbourhood where you'll catch a lift. And if you plan to walk, it is a bad idea, the people around here aren't exactly well behaved, especially towards cops."

Sharon shot him a sharp look, but his words held some truth. With a reluctant sigh, she finally gave in. "Fine," she muttered under her breath, walking toward Rick's car.

As she opened the passenger side door and slid into the seat, her frustration lingered, though she tried to hide it. She wasn't thrilled about riding with him, but given the circumstances, it was unavoidable.
