Chapter 128 - 128 127 Jing Chen Arrives_1
Chapter 128: Chapter 127 Jing Chen Arrives_1 Chapter 128: Chapter 127 Jing Chen Arrives_1 Mu Lin was unaware that, at the very moment she leaped down from the tree, a person walked into the Monitoring Room, where Ling Qi was standing.
“What’s the matter, don’t trust your little military doctor eh?” Ling Qi heard the sound and looked back. He was startled at first seeing someone suddenly shadowing him and then he teased.
The person nodded, “Yeah, I’m not sure.”
Ling Qi choked for a moment, he really shouldn’t have been so kind-hearted to greet him first. He snorted coldly, not wanting to talk to him right now, but to his surprise, the other person didn’t seem to want to continue the conversation either.
His gaze was fixed on the slender figure on the screen, his eyes gradually softening.
It seemed like she was doing well here. Jing Chen was still somewhat worried after sending her to this place; he was afraid that her frail body couldn’t take it, and that she might leave if anything upset her. Strangely enough, he did not want her to leave just like that.
Even though their relationship was strictly professional.
Ling Qi watched from the sidelines as his brother’s eyes were glued to the screen from the moment he entered the room, feeling helpless.
Although he was happy to see this hardened bachelor bloom, he still wasn’t used to the idea that this eternal bachelor could one day be reformed. And then he looked at himself and sighed; he wondered when this old bachelor would start behaving himself.
…
When Mu Lin and the others returned to their original spot, most of the others were already back. However, compared to them, it seemed like Mu Lin’s group had the most impressive spoils of war.
Looking at the piles of fish, fruit, and the pig they had just brought down, everyone exchanged glances and became puzzled, “What should we do now?” Out of habit, everyone looked towards Mu Lin. Mu Lin grinned, “Of course… we need to butcher the pig.” Otherwise, were they going to gnaw at it directly?
And so, for the first time in their lives, these young masters, who had always had everything handed to them on a silver platter, began their pig-butchering journey.
But how were they to kill it?
They had all eaten pork, but they had never seen a pig run, let alone know how to butcher a pig.
Thankfully, one of the team members grew up in a pig-raising household and had seen the process of pig butchering multiple times. At times, he had even been able to lend a helping hand. In the end, the scattershot group of people, all because of this one pig, became one, working together harmoniously.
This unity was certainly something Ling Qi had hoped to see. Unity was something their group desperately lacked.
As for Mu Lin, she had quietly disappeared by then, only to show up in front of the temporary kitchen.
She was here to borrow ingredients and tools.
Even though Ling Qi previously said they needed to solve their breakfast issues themselves, he didn’t say they couldn’t use the kitchen tools, and as for the ingredients, he didn’t mention anything about it either. But she figured that he definitely wouldn’t have given them the ingredients. Without struggle, there wouldn’t have been the amusing incident earlier.
Auntie Cui was fond of Mu Lin and so, without any hesitation, she gathered what Mu Lin needed, and even stuffed a few buns into Mu Lin’s hands, saying they were extras she had made that morning.
She would never admit that she had intentionally made extra buns, just hoping to find an opportunity to give them to Mu Lin. Now that Mu Lin was here, she could simply go along with the flow.
Mu Lin accepted without refusal. In the early morning, she preferred these light dishes.
As she turned to leave, before crossing the threshold, she looked up and saw a tall and slender figure. Under the sunlight, he looked dazzlingly attractive.
What do you think?
