Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)

Chapter 180 Secrets and debts.

The day had passed quietly, and as the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky turned a soft shade of gold and purple. The long shadows stretched across the courtyard, giving the mansion a peaceful and still atmosphere. The excitement of the day was over, leaving behind a sense of calm that settled over Shanglong Peak.

Mo Yuxin found herself walking through the quiet gardens, her mind still busy with thoughts. She had just learned about her junior sisters' secret relationship, something she had never expected. The soft rustling of leaves in the night breeze made the moment feel even more peaceful.

As she sat down on a stone bench, Su Yubing approached and settled beside her with her usual graceful movements. Her eyes were drawn to the moonlit blossoms of a nearby plum tree. The two women sat together in silence for a while before Su Yubing finally spoke.

"A day full of surprises," Su Yubing said softly, her voice carrying a hint of amusement. "Our junior sisters certainly know how to keep secrets."

Mo Yuxin nodded, deep in thought. "I never would have guessed. They always seemed so quiet and reserved. To see them so openly affectionate was unexpected. That too in broad daylight!"

Su Yubing gave a small chuckle. "Maybe they just found the right moment. Or maybe they realized that some secrets are too precious to keep hidden forever."

Mo Yuxin looked up at the sky, her eyes following the silver glow of the moon. "It makes me wonder… how many other secrets might be hidden within these walls?"

Su Yubing's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Oh, I imagine quite a few," she said with a knowing smile. "Cangran is a place of strict rules and discipline, but it is also a place of deep emotions and desires."

A comfortable silence fell between them again. The only sounds were the soft rustling of the leaves and the distant chirping of crickets. Mo Yuxin let out a slow breath, allowing herself to relax in the quiet of the night.

However, even in this tranquility, something nagged at her. Or rather, someone.

She let out a slow breath. "Four hundred and fifty thousand spirit stones…"

Ah, right. Bai Xuzhen.

That little fox.

Mo Yuxin wasn't truly planning to take the money from her—not completely, at least. Bai Xuzhen was almost like a blood sister to her. She had long accepted her cunning ways, her schemes, and her bottomless desire for wealth. But that didn't mean Mo Yuxin was going to let her off easily. Not after the rumor incident.

She smirked slightly. No, she would give Bai Xuzhen a bit of a scare first.

Time passed, and before they knew it, the deep blue of the night sky began to lighten. The first golden rays of sunlight touched the dewdrops on the petals, turning the garden into a glowing, dreamlike landscape. Inside the mansion, Lu Wuqi stirred from her meditation.

She opened her eyes, her young face calm and composed. Despite her usual cold and rigid nature, she was a disciplined cultivator, and her movements were as fluid as a stream. She stretched slightly before standing up, ready to start the day.

Lu Wuqi quietly walked toward Su Yubing's room. She knocked softly on the door but got no response. Slowly pushing it open, she peeked inside.

Su Yubing was still asleep, her breathing slow and steady. Lu Wuqi frowned slightly. Her mother had seemed unusually tired the day before, and it wasn't like her to sleep in.

"Maybe I should let her rest," Lu Wuqi thought to herself. Usually, she would jump on the bed to wake her up, but today, she hesitated. With rare restraint, she closed the door quietly and turned away.

She had something important to do today. Her steps were light as she left the mansion, making her way toward Mingyufeng Peak.

The path was familiar, winding through lush forests and blooming fields. Birds chirped in the distance, and the cool morning breeze carried the fresh scent of flowers. Despite her usual energetic personality, Lu Wuqi found comfort in the peaceful journey.

She was on a mission to find Bai Xuzhen, her fourth junior sister. Bai Xuzhen had always been kind and understanding, someone Lu Wuqi could talk to about anything. Today, she needed her advice.

As Lu Wuqi approached the peak, she heard laughter. It was a soft, happy sound, mixed with gentle murmurs of conversation. Curious, she stepped forward, following the sound.

She soon arrived at a beautiful pavilion covered in flowering vines, glowing in the morning sunlight. Nestled among the fragrant blossoms, she saw two familiar figures—Bai Xuzhen and Xu Xian.

Xu Xian, their eldest senior sister, was a woman of great strength and fierce determination. She had two great loves in life: her dedication to martial arts and her deep, unwavering affection for Bai Xuzhen. Bai Xuzhen, on the other hand, was sharp-minded and clever, with a passion for wealth and strategy. She was as intelligent as she was charming.

They were close together, wrapped in each other's arms, lost in their own little world.

Xu Xian's strong hands held Bai Xuzhen gently, her fingers tracing slow, affectionate patterns along her back. Bai Xuzhen's hands were tangled in Xu Xian's long, dark hair, pulling her closer. Their lips met in a slow, lingering kiss, their embrace filled with warmth and deep emotion.

Xu Xian's sharp eyes softened as she gazed at Bai Xuzhen, taking in every detail—her delicate features, her playful smile, the gentle curve of her neck. In return, Bai Xuzhen's usually calculating expression was filled with warmth and affection. She touched Xu Xian's face lightly, her fingers brushing against her cheek as if memorizing every inch.

They whispered to each other in voices too soft to hear.

"My love," Xu Xian murmured, her deep voice filled with emotion, "you are more beautiful than the sunrise, more radiant than the stars."

Bai Xuzhen's lips curled into a smile. "And you, my dearest, are as strong as the mountains, as steady as the flowing rivers. You are my greatest treasure."

Their lips met again, this time in a deeper, more passionate kiss. Xu Xian pulled Bai Xuzhen even closer, their bodies pressed together, as if they never wanted to be apart. Bai Xuzhen responded eagerly, her hands tightening around Xu Xian, her body arching into her embrace.

"I love how your eyes shine when you laugh," Xu Xian whispered against Bai Xuzhen's ear. "It makes my heart feel lighter."

Bai Xuzhen let out a soft giggle. "And I love how serious you look when you're thinking," she replied, gently touching the slight crease in Xu Xian's forehead. "It makes you seem even more powerful."

They leaned into each other again, their breaths mingling, lost in their own world.

"You spoil me too much," Bai Xuzhen murmured, her fingers trailing through Xu Xian's hair.

Xu Xian chuckled. "And yet, it never seems to be enough."

Bai Xuzhen laughed softly, her arms tightening around Xu Xian. "Then spoil me forever."

Their lips met in a slow, lingering kiss—only to be abruptly interrupted.

Lu Wuqi stood at the entrance of the pavilion, watching the scene unfold. Despite her young age, she was not unfamiliar with their bond. Their relationship was well known and respected within the sect, and yet, their open display of affection still made her uncomfortable.

She understood love, but she didn't understand why they had to be so obvious about it. Xu Xian, in particular, always seemed eager to show her feelings for Bai Xuzhen in the most dramatic ways.

With a sigh, Lu Wuqi decided she had seen enough.

She cleared her throat loudly and stepped into the pavilion.

"Ahem," she announced, her voice carrying a teasing tone. "While I fully respect your deep love for each other, don't you think this might not be the best place for such… public displays of affection?"

Bai Xuzhen pulled away slightly, turning to look at Lu Wuqi with a knowing smile. Xu Xian, however, simply sighed, clearly reluctant to let go of her beloved.

Lu Wuqi crossed her arms. "I mean, really. There are people walking around, you know? The world doesn't need to witness every moment of your love story."

Bai Xuzhen chuckled, resting her chin on Xu Xian's shoulder. "Oh, senior sister, you're just jealous because you haven't experienced romance yet. But don't you have your wife now! Why don't you go and play with her."

Lu Wuqi scoffed, rolling her eyes. "If romance means being stuck together like glue all the time, I think I'll pass."

Xu Xian finally let out a low laugh, loosening her hold on Bai Xuzhen. "Fine, fine. What brings you here, junior sister."

Mo Yuxin wasted no time. Her tone was as cold and commanding as ever.

"Let's talk about those four hundred and fifty thousand spirit stones you owe me."

The effect was immediate.

Bai Xuzhen deflated like a punctured balloon. The smug confidence melted from her face, replaced by wide, pleading eyes.

"A-Ah… Second Senior Sister, my dearest, most esteemed, most magnanimous Second Senior Sister," she stammered, already shifting into full coquettish little sister mode. She clung to Xu Xian like a lifeline, peeking at Mo Yuxin with an almost pitiful expression. "Must we really talk about such a harsh subject on such a beautiful morning?"

Mo Yuxin's gaze didn't waver. "Yes. Yes, we must."

Bai Xuzhen let out a weak laugh, inching slightly behind Xu Xian, who watched the situation unfold with a mixture of amusement and caution.
