Chapter 371 - 146: The Crazy Plan (Part 2)
Chapter 371: Chapter 146: The Crazy Plan (Part 2)
(Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to everyone! Today, there must be an additional update)
Ivan piloted his beloved Speed-Chasing S Mecha, flying towards the Starship.
Mechas pillaged from the territory of the Gardot Empire, after Ivan paid a fortune for a professional mecha service technician to modify them, could reach the power of a seventh-and-a-half generation engine at full throttle, along with that unique weapon—Icebreaker Wind Chimes, which got him so excited that he renamed the mecha “Speed-Chasing S”; the flat yet flamboyant letter S on the chest of the mecha represented his immense satisfaction and high expectations for it!
He had been following the leader, Maxi, for a full eight years, drifting around various parts of the universe since his youth.
If he weren’t so proficient and agreeable in handling things, he wouldn’t have been put at the forefront.
Ivan, seeing the Starship coming closer, displayed a light smile on his face, confident with the powerful support from the Icebreaker Warship at his back, that a mere common smuggling ship wouldn’t dare make even the slightest move.
“I am the Captain of this Starship, I see you piloting the Mecha, so we have already opened the door of our number two hangar just for you; my Deputy Captain and I are here waiting for you.”
A communication signal suddenly appeared, and Ivan also saw that a small door on the deck not far ahead had opened.
No one came out, which was normal.
Are you expecting these smugglers to come out in spacesuits?
The thought was amusing.
Ivan, without any hesitation, landed the thirteen-meter-tall Speed-Chasing S Mecha onto the deck.
The mecha’s space-atmospheric jet engines at the back were retracted, leaving only one auxiliary engine to drive its movement.
The sixteen Wind Chimes attached to the right arm of the mecha lightly shook and began to hover and dance around the arm.
This was a characteristic weapon from the Gardot Empire, also the reason he always boasted.
The door of the second hangar was dark, Ivan walked straight in.
Huh?
Just two people?
When the outer door closed and the air replenished, the second isolation door slowly lifted.
Ivan immediately noticed the two people in uniform standing in front of him.
No wonder the boss said this captain was a fool, that obsequious face, could he even be a military man?
These smugglers are really something, that kid next to him who looks barely seventeen or eighteen, even younger than himself by three or four years, a Captain already?
Must be a relative of the boss, pretty daring to wear it.
If it were him, wouldn’t he at least play with a Lieutenant Colonel’s rank?
Hahaha!
So amusing.
This idea makes sense, I’ll tell the boss when I get back.
Ivan got a bit distracted in that moment.
“Cough cough, Sir, how do you plan to proceed? I just hope you could spare me and my crew, I implore you to say a few good words for us later, I have something to thank you with as well.”
Ivan’s eyes brightened, this man got right to the point!
But…
You’re still hoping to return alive? That’s really foolish.
The boss already activated the electromagnetic shield, it’s clear you’re not getting a chance to go back.
Sigh, but there’s still money to be made.
“Credit to you for being sensible; I will naturally know how to measure my words later. You are the leader of this ship, this person next to you, is he your relative? You smugglers really aren’t skilled, daring to play a Lieutenant with not even a single hair on your chin?”
Ivan stared as Lin Hao bowed and scraped before his mecha, reveling secretly.
Seeing someone who didn’t realize they were doomed yet kept bowing and scraping, he felt an inexplicable pleasure.
That pleasure of playing with people’s lives in his hands.
He himself tried to get closer to the boss’ side, and hoped to become a minor leader someday; he would be content with that for life.
Thus, Ivan tried to lower his voice, making it sound more mature.
“It’s just the two of you responsible for this ship?”
“Yes, just me and my nephew, the rest I have kept in the cargo hold to stay quietly.”
That nephew looked like a total idiot, his face still expressionless; truly a relative, even a fool could be a Deputy Captain.
Regarding Lin Hao who was speaking, Ivan had his video screenshot within the Speed-Chasing S Mecha, he compared it, no questions there.
“Alright, you two squeeze into this escape pod; come on in quickly, I need to take you back to see the boss.”
Ivan spoke impatiently.
Lin Hao deliberately showed a distressed expression, but immediately dragged Mu Fan over, who was dragging his feet beside him, after Ivan made a threatening gesture with his mecha.
Seeing the uncle and nephew’s movements, Ivan sneered and pressed the escape pod’s eject button.
A cylindrical compartment popped out from below his chest, and the Speed-Chasing S pulled out the escape pod and placed it at his feet, waving his fingers impatiently.
He gestured for Mu Fan and his company to get in quickly.
The two lowered their heads and inadvertently exchanged a glance.
Finally, Lin Hao’s face showed a hint of anxiety, while a gleam appeared in Mu Fan’s eyes.
Dressed in the rank of Major, Lin Hao raised his head again and ingratiatingly smiled at the mecha’s head before obediently walking in first.
Mu Fan followed woodenly.
Just as he was about to step into the escape pod, his footing suddenly became unstable, and he fell heavily to the ground.
“Idiot.”
Ivan looked at that foolish boy, too lazy to comment further.
“Can you hurry up, damn it? If you don’t come, I’ll kill you.”
“Sir, my nephew’s watch fell off; he is picking it up and coming in.”
Lin Hao pointed towards the area beneath the Speed-Chasing S’s feet, where Mu Fan was now clumsily getting up and walking over—indeed, there was a silver watch on the ground.
“I’m not kidding, tell your stupid nephew to hurry up. I’m counting to ten, and if he’s not here… well, sorry then.”
Thump!
A Wind Chime suddenly fell heavily onto the floor, making a slight dent in the metal surface.
Seeing the young man startled by the sudden Wind Chime, Ivan laughed heartily, “Timing starts, 1…”
Mu Fan skillfully flung the watch to the inside of the mecha’s feet.
This was a visual blind spot for the mecha.
Pretending to be completely foolish, Mu Fan took five seconds to cover a distance that should have taken less than half a second.
As Mu Fan stepped into the shadow beneath the mecha, the wooden expression in his eyes finally vanished, replaced by a razor-sharp gleam.
“7, 8…”
It looked like killing was on the agenda, and bloodthirsty intent appeared on Ivan’s face.
What Star Thief didn’t have a dozen lives on their hands?
Mu Fan finally grabbed the watch with his right hand and fastened it onto his left wrist.
His legs exploded with incredible strength at that moment.
In Tracy’s sniper scope, the intense contrast between Mu Fan’s stillness and sudden movement made her heart skip a beat.
What was he going to do!
With one step, Mu Fan stepped on the armor at the back of the mecha’s knee joint, using it as leverage to lift himself further.
His hands quickly alternated, almost instantly reaching the rear hatch of the mecha.
“9, hehe, kid, blame your own lack of regard for life.”
Ivan swung his hand, and the Wind Chime on the ground was magnetically drawn back. The next second, he prepared to smash that idiot’s head ruthlessly.
Wait a second… Where is he?
Suddenly, Ivan, who was looking down, realized that he couldn’t see any figure below!
From behind him, at the mecha’s 2-meter shell, suddenly came a clear tapping sound.
“Ding.”
Mu Fan attached the watch to the rear door’s palm recognition scanner.
An invisible electromagnetic wave passed by.
Inside the cockpit, Ivan suddenly heard a buzzing sound, and then his mecha unexpectedly…
Stopped operating!
The lights dimmed, and the cockpit was enveloped in darkness.
From atop the rear hatch, Mu Fan heard Black’s voice in his ear, “Done.”
A smile spread across his face.
His own countdown was just beginning!
What do you think?
