Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Omen

June 2nd, the morning was as usual. Sparse pedestrians began to appear on the streets. As the most comfortable and pleasant district on Loga Star, it attracted numerous tourists from other districts every day.

However, to their disappointment, most of the areas with an excellent ecological environment were not open to the public. Those were the exclusive territories of the nobility, so tourists from the outer districts could only walk and play in the open areas of the city, and the commercial streets were gradually becoming busier.

In the living room, a vintage-style clock showed the time was 8:00. It was the first time Mu Fan had slept until 8:00, and he walked out of the bedroom feeling refreshed. After knocking on the door for five minutes without any response from the fat guy, Mu Fan decided to give up.

Whatever, let him stay here today.

“Black, any updates?” After washing up, Mu Fan put on his headset and asked.

Black’s voice promptly sounded, “At 6:00, the government network suddenly changed its encryption method. It’s clearly indicating that something’s about to happen today. Is this a challenge to me?” The voice carried frustration, having held back for two hours, finally able to vent.

“Can you decrypt it?” Mu Fan didn’t bother wasting words with Black; he couldn’t follow the chatter-filled mind of Black, or else he’d be led astray for sure.

“I can! But there’s no abnormal data flow yet. Even in the monitored District 2, there’s nothing unusual. It’s strange.” Black speculated in a tone full of doubt, “Unless there’s one possibility, which is that all activities have avoided surveillance.”

“What about now?” Noticing a note beside the wardrobe informing him of clothing available for guests to temporarily change into, he became interested, as he couldn’t wear the inconvenient dress uniform anymore today.

Mu Fan opened the wardrobe, choosing a set of the most casual linen clothing. The loose feel struck him at first glance, and the coarse but defined texture felt comfortable in his palms.

“I suggest you move towards the northwest district soon. Right now, I can’t give a definite time either. Just stay near there today, and it’s good for quick emergency measures if anything happens,” Black referred to the emergency measures of taking over RX-16.

“Got it.” Mu Fan put on the loose linen outfit, stretching his limbs, feeling quite comfortable. After leaving a message for the fat guy via Sky Communication, he stepped out of the door. This outfit, obviously prepared for guests to stroll within the villa, was declared by Mu Fan to soon become his combat uniform.

Huh? Mu Fan made direct eye contact with Gaoling Sen and his daughter, surrounded by a group of armed guards not far away.

“Good morning!” Mu Fan waved cheerfully in that direction, but, of course, he was waving at Shelly, continuing to ignore the mustached man.

Gaoling Sen gave him a profoundly deep look, saying nothing, then pulled away a reluctant wave-greeting Shelly, leaving the guest room area with their group.

Mu Fan shrugged and, guided by a servant, went to have breakfast. Clearly, he sensed the tense atmosphere within the villa today. Although the staff continued to work diligently as always, it was hard to see family members dressed in casual attire along the way. It seemed Wayne’s ban from yesterday had been thoroughly enforced.

For the first time, outside the Martial Arts Hall, Mu Fan revealed his voracious appetite. Upon smelling the enticing aroma, he first tried to control himself and ate two bites, then succumbed and began to wolf down the food. The chef making meatball pizzas at the buffet breakfast area was already numb, having made twenty pizzas in fifteen minutes… all of which disappeared into the young man’s stomach in the blink of an eye, with no further response except for a loud burp at the end.

Half an hour later, after Mu Fan finished drinking a basin of health porridge, the staff had no choice but to report it up. They hadn’t seen anyone like this in all their years of service. If it weren’t for the fact that the outfit he wore was indeed a special supply for the villa’s guests, they might have called the Guard long ago.

Just as Mu Fan continued to indulge, he suddenly heard a familiar and surprised voice, “Young Master Mu Fan?” With his high-cheeked face looking up, Uncle Wu!

Making a challenging greeting, Mu Fan finally managed to wash down the food with two glasses of water.

“Hello, Uncle Wu! I arrived yesterday but didn’t get to see you.” Finally able to speak normally.

“So it was Young Master Mu Fan. No wonder the servants reported a distinguished guest,” Uncle Wu replied with a laugh. “Just as well, the Master had just instructed me to find you in the guest room area. Now I can tell you, the Master has already ordered a lockdown of the villa, but Young Master Mu Fan can move freely. Here is your pass.”

With that, Uncle Wu handed over a badge shaped like a scale, about three fingers in size and exquisitely crafted.

Mu Fan took it and nodded, “Understood. Thank you, Uncle Wu. I’ve left a message, but please also inform Harry for me that I’ll go for a walk today, and don’t forget what I said yesterday.”

Uncle Wu responded, “Okay, then I won’t disturb you anymore. The Master has other matters.” With that, he turned and left.

Mu Fan nodded and immediately returned to devouring food. After another half hour, the satisfied Mu Fan walked out of the dining room under the admiring gazes of all in the villa.

It was now past nine o’clock. After a glance at his Sky Communication, he still hadn’t received a reply from the fat guy, so Mu Fan decided to head towards the northwest area.

As Mu Fan strolled leisurely through the crisscrossing streets, a wave appeared on Loga Star’s administrative network. Data emerged from the central database and scattered silently across several public interfaces after a few transfers, like a stone sinking into the sea. Black, closely monitoring the network, hurriedly decrypted it, finding it to be normal public information, a government directive aiming to promote tourism and cultural development. There were no anomalies in the logic set by the tracking program, so Black received no alert from this spot.

Frequently, one could see people dressed in various styles holding cameras and flags, lingering in the streets and alleys. It must be said that the scenery here was indeed beautiful, with even a central forest park within the district, complemented by well-maintained greenery throughout the area. Indeed, even in the most barren places, paradise can exist.

Meanwhile, personnel at the urban traffic monitoring bureau in District 2 scanned the several synchronous display screens in the room. The function here was to monitor various intersections and crowded spots.

A man in a police uniform chewed gum and switched screens back and forth with interest, looking to spot any pretty ladies. Routine work, but without it, life would be too dull.

Beside him, a person wearing a police cap also leaned over to stare at the screen. After a while, he shook his head in disappointment, saying, “A lot of tourists recently, but the quality is declining.”

Right. Chewing gum, he quickly switched the videos on the screen but found no attractive women, as many tourist spots were filled with big guys. Muttering, “A bunch of big guys taking pictures, they should just stay away.”

The person with the police cap clicked his fingers continuously, checking the recent data on the flow of people, complaining, “There are indeed a lot of people, even more than yesterday.”

“Let me check those park areas, maybe there are some jogging girls,” upon hearing this, the person with the police cap immediately checked.

“Again with a bunch of tourists, so uncultured! Littering everywhere, even over there, throwing it!”

Behind them, a recorder flashed a green light. From the Black’s sea of data on the Planet Network, a recording analysis transmitted a report, triggered by several keywords set in its alarm system.

“Today, yesterday, more, bunch, throw”…
