Mech: Shattering of the Galaxy

Chapter 84: Coming Through the Galaxy

Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Coming Through the Galaxy

The Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon, a weapon with firepower reaching AAA-level, could almost destroy any Warrior-level or lower mecha with a single perfectly charged shot.

At this moment, the Deputy Leader of the Broken Axe Star Thief Group watched with a wicked smile at the RX-16 that just destroyed their mecha in the distance. He still did not activate the radar lock; he’d first charge and then lock onto the target at the last moment before firing, attack! This left the enemy with no time to react. This is a high-level skill that a remote mech pilot must master after numerous battles!

The Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon had finished charging!

0.5 seconds, radar lock, fire! The Deputy Leader’s face was manic as he pressed the fire button.

“Beep!——” The piercing alarm sounded; Black’s speed could be described as very fast, and even Mu Fan’s reaction speed was remarkably quick as the mecha instinctively made a crouching leap to evade.

...

But from locking on to firing, in just half a second, the blue energy beam from the Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon, emitting from ten kilometers away, flashed past with a speed far surpassing the mecha’s reaction, piercing through!

The scene seemed to turn black and white, with that piercing light becoming the only focal point between heavens and earth.

Not a sound was heard as the RX-16, which had destroyed fourteen Reapers, was cut at the chest; the entire mecha was split in two, scattered on the ground. An invisible energy wave dissipated, and the ground behind the RX-16 even vaporized into an unimaginably large pit.

“Hmph, lucky for you.”

Pursing his lips, the Deputy Leader turned around uninterestedly. Ending this ordinary adventure-level military mecha with the Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon was, to him, really an honor for the opposite side.

Inside the mountain, the major and his team continued to stare at the surveillance screen, but they realized that after Marcus’s RX-16 and those six Reapers entered the alleyway, they’d not reappeared.

Everyone’s attention was focused there, so no one noticed what the near-Earth guard ship had deployed in the distance. But when, a few minutes later, the blue beam that pierced through the city appeared!

“Energy level, extremely dangerous!”

“Energy level, extremely dangerous!”

The alarm blared loudly, causing everyone to look puzzled at the flashing light, only for the major to suddenly fall into thought, and then shocked, he shouted: “Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon, it’s the Thunder Slash!! Thunder Slash!!”

Everyone was stunned, and very quickly, their faces turned extremely grim. Warrior-level mecha Thunder Slash, an existence capable of changing the local battlefield situation! Now, one had appeared on this distant, remote Loga Star, and it was on the opposite side, right at their doorstep.

Marcus must be finished!

Are we truly going to sacrifice for the country? The atmosphere of despair started to spread; the overwhelming force finally broke the last straw of morale.

Time was up! The government network was restored!

“I am Councilman Hayden! I now order a full counterattack, first, third, sixth units, open anti-aircraft fire, authorize fighter jets to take off, authorize the Loga Dawn Mecha Army to deploy! Authorize…” A booming sound interrupted, cutting off the last sentence.

As the citizens once again heard the voice of Councilman Hayden, their confidence increased dramatically, yet that final interruption caused morale to plummet straight away among the military and civilians in the two cities.

“Heh,” Wen Yu chuckled coldly, observing through the battlefield monitor as the councilman’s residence was once again engulfed in a mist of green light, then shifted his gaze to the dark green mecha hovering above the residence, with four deep green floating cannons orbiting it, relentlessly bombarding downward. That imposing posture seemed to lord over all beings.

Wind Thief, truly lived up to the name, at least worthy of the batch of source crystals I traded him; considering Poison Scorpion’s cleverness, Wen Yu thought, though he probably really didn’t know that Poison Scorpion was pushed to the edge, taking action personally to protect his own base.

At this crucial moment, where was Mu Fan? From the instant the mecha was hit, the electronic systems on the mecha completely failed; Black was silent once more, and even all the monitoring in this area went dead. Black, deep within the network, was anxiously at a loss.

I am intelligent life, but if Mu Fan, the only host, dies, where do I go? What is my purpose of existence? It can’t lose Mu Fan!!

The intelligent life experienced an unparalleled and intense emotion akin to humans for the first time! But it was all in vain; Black fell into deep self-blame, even beginning a countdown to activate the self-dissolution program.

Mu Fan was unaware of all these; he was still alive but had fallen into a coma. When the sense of alert formed in his mind, he controlled the mecha to crouch to dodge at a nearly 400-hand speed, although he couldn’t evade, that mere half-meter descent had allowed him to escape the threat of death.

The mecha was blasted apart about one meter above Mu Fan’s head; you could say the upper half of the cockpit was partially vaporized, causing an internal structural fracture. Mu Fan was knocked unconscious by the sudden electromagnetic storm, leaving his consciousness blank, unable to move, lying on the ground. In the face of such weapons that far surpassed human physical strength, personal power seemed small and insignificant. Not far away lay the truncated tip of the spindle-shaped escape pod, with Marcus inside, his life or death unknown.

Is it all really going to end here?

The deep purple Thunder Slash mecha had used a dynamic accelerator to leap from the building; it was about to join with Wind Thief. The imposing Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon was carried on its back, pointing obliquely at the sky, intimidating in appearance.

Thunder Slash landed and prepared to advance, but at that moment, the Deputy Leader saw a red dot appear in the sky through the optical imaging mirror. Upon closer inspection, it was a red outer flame, the result of the hull rapidly frictioning with the atmosphere! It drew a noticeable red line across the sky.

A meteor?!

How can there still be a meteor coming now? It seems to be falling towards this area. The Thunder Slash mecha glanced backward, then looked at the distant slopes, the Deputy Leader channeling the communication: “There’s a meteor falling, brothers be careful, prepare for the impact defense!”

Military personnel also noticed the meteor descending from the sky with a red flame tail, and after being calculated by the monitors, someone quickly reported: “The meteor will fall three kilometers away in the urban area; judging by its shape and size, the impact will have a light effect on the mecha, but it won’t affect our base.”

The major immediately encouraged those warriors fiercely resisting, reminding them to prepare for protection.

However, no one saw clearly; it wasn’t a meteor at all, but an interstellar freighter rapidly descending! That simple, boxy shape, often referred to as an iron coffin, in the interstellar terminal, was an old-style small interstellar freighter.

At this moment, this vessel that cut through the sky was falling toward the ground, but if you looked closely at the direction, it seemed to be toward the place previously hit by the Thunder Sacrifice Surge Cannon.

“Complete obliteration, probably won’t be able to find even a fragment of the mecha,” the Thunder Slash mecha stated, having figured out the falling direction, the Deputy Leader mocked with filled sympathy.

Getting closer to the ground, 2000 meters, 1000 meters, 800 meters, 500 meters… Closer and closer to the ground, in the blink of an eye the ‘meteor’ disappeared behind towering buildings.

400 meters, 300 meters… Suddenly, that falling out-of-control freighter suddenly burst open!

If someone were directly below, they’d see it was a scar-riddled, ghostly black metal arm, and the appearance of this arm seemed to be a trigger, as the freighter instantly exploded into a ball of flames in mid-air. @@novelbin@@

In the spreading ball of flames in mid-air, yet another fragmentary armored ghostly black metal arm protruded from the fingertip, followed by a torso, feet, falling straight toward the RX-16’s wreckage…

A surprisingly broken ghostly black mecha!
