When René first heard the hero’s shout, he felt a sense of doubt.

Anyone who has ever wielded a sword would have imagined that word at least once, but René wasn’t one of them.

Because of that, René couldn’t understand the value of the word strongest.

There is certainly value in power that surpasses limits. A strong person whose very existence burdens foreign countries holds power that can’t be compared to any other resource.

But once you go beyond that, strength loses its meaning.

Even among those who are considered the strongest, there’s still a gap, but that gap can be filled with other variables.

On the other hand, to rise above other strong people, you have to sacrifice a lot.

Even if you invest that much, there’s no guarantee that you’ll truly become stronger, so René viewed the word strongest as inefficient.

The common folk might argue over who’s stronger, but for someone who aims to be a ruler, that value should be weighed coldly.

Even now, with his mother decaying in the darkness, René still thought this way.
